Welcome aboard. Best mod on the auto is to change the final drive to shorten it to bring it closer to where the manual is. Helps a fair bit with acceleration. The gearing on the auto due to the long final drive is practically intergalactic. There are tons of options when it comes to the exhaust, take your pick!
-
A lot of us run aftermarket exhausts on our cars which are our daily drivers. I run a resonated TD exhaust. It's loud enough, but I think it's fine on a cruise. Took it 1500 miles to Germany and back last summer. TD now do an exhaust with a bigger resonator, that'd be a bit quieter still. Why not try one of those? Pretty much no exhaust drones if cruising at a constant speed. Sure you'll hear it if you accelerate and more so if you accelerate hard, but with the cruise on I find mine quiet enough. I do have a decent sound system though. Road noise is far higher in my experience.

You can't really remove your profile. I would need to manually delete it. Why not just leave it there as otherwise you will cause all issues with previous posts you have made.

Try some of the insurance traders, see how you get on. I think if you're willing to go through the hassle of phoning around you should get some decent savings.

The correct side for an indicator stalk on the RHD cars is indeed on the right. When I went to Japan and hired a GT86 the indicator was on the right. Much better. But we have this stupid thing in the UK where they mount in the position of LHD cars, so it's on the left. I blame VAG for doing this in the 70s and 80s.
-
@Sighe98 actually I remember now, when I had mine done, with no steering wheel controls it would have involved an extra stalk. This means there might not actually be an option to integrate but you'd have to contact Alpine to see what is possible. Sorry, not much help, it was over five years ago that I had mine done now.

Surely you got her address? Did you not think to take pics of her car including the plate?

NA tune makes a big difference. If I was going supercharger, I think the Cosworth setup would be the one. I do like the HKS in terms of how it drives but there has been a few issues with them.

I know that Alpine offers steering control but it will cost you a fair bit more for the head unit. The rear speakers are best disconnected they are a total waste of time and not necessary in such a small cabin. Don't waste your money on that. Invest your money in better front speakers and go two way components with a crossover. Loads have fitted the Focal opton it's a good upgrade for not doing much to be fair. It's only really worth getting an amp if you are going to get a sub as well. In the boot is the obvious option really. Different head unit, better front speakers, disconnect the rears and run an amp on three channels, one for the sub and the other two for the front speakers. If you really want to make it sound good, consider a digital sound processor like the Audison Bit10. I junked all my audio when my car was a month old and went for full install. Thought the stock setup was utter shite. I tried the JBL, still not good enough IMO.

I use Flickr seems to be pretty easy to use and avoids this problem. You need @rob275 really.

You are probably looking at a sample of one or maybe two. Litchfield aren't big into the GT86 and whilst like other companies they have offered a supercharger kit, they didn't sell many at all it seems. That doesn't mean that the kit is necessarily bad, but won't you find data on reliability etcetera with so few having been fitted. There are many more kits out there that are far more popular.

I've ran EDFC Active Pro for the last four years since it came out. It does work very well and has been faultless over 80K miles.
-
When you disconnect it on the shoulder strap it's fine, you'll have no problem using your child seat. I would say you'd need to fit a proper bucket seat to use a hans device.

TEIN Flex A is well tested and good enough value for money. The Reyland 4 pot AP (or six if you must) kit is great value for money at £1500. Only really necessary though if you are going on track a fair bit. Aftermarket pads make a small difference in my experience. They are fine for road driving though.

Welcome aboard. What's in the pipeline?

Pretty sure it's not approved for that, but check out the technical sheet. Google this. Can't post the link here: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=schroth+rally+3+pdf&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

It's one of those things where you can Google stuff and there will always be someone who tells you that if you use a harness that you must have a cage. It's one of those things that seems to cause endless debate. I've ran cars with harnesses for nearly two decades, most haven't had a roll cage. Yes I'm still alive, but I have never rolled. What I would say is, if you are running sticky tyres or if you are going to use slicks, then a roll cage is far more crucial as the likelihood of rolling your car is significantly increased. On road tyres such as I use (V105's etc) less so. The roof of a GT86 has a very significant structure around the roof, this is a good thing. For me, I weighed up the probability of my untimely demise being caused by rolling my car whilst wearing a harness and came to the conclusion that the probability is beyond extremely low, so went with a harness which I only use on track with no roll cage. You make your choices....

Ah, this is the one as it reminded me that I purchased it! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Schroth-10510-Shoulder-Belt-Right/dp/B001CC6X9C/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1529434123&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=schroth+rallye+3+asm+left Get this. Sorted.
-
Dom, I got mine from Amazon and with my Prime membership free postage. £124. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Schroth-10010-3-Point-Harness-System/dp/B001CC6X8S/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1529434123&sr=1-1-fkmr2&keywords=schroth+rallye+3+asm+left Just make sure the ASM is on the left shoulder strap. It says left here. The trouble is I'm not sure if 'left' means LHD and 'right' means RHD. Mine came with the extra loop on the left shoulder strap which is correct. So this one is probably right: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Schroth-10510-Shoulder-Belt-Right/dp/B001CC6X9C/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1529434123&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=schroth+rallye+3+asm+left Trouble is the pics of both are for LHD cars.

Why not go for the Schroth Rally 3 harness? A number of us are using it now. It works very well without the hassle of having to install a harness bar or half cage.

FOR SALE - Tuning Developments TD Resonated Catback
Lauren replied to vanko25's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
It's quieter than a Milltek Resonated and also the Cobra. I run one though admittedly I have a TD manifold and no cats. It's obviously louder on mine, but fine on a cruise even with my setup. Had mine on a year now. -
Just do both. But Le Mans has a much bigger British contingent attending. It's like a 5 day party. I'd like to do the 'Ring 24 hours but would do it with German friends I think.
-
Had you bedded them in properly before the track day, Maurice? I did the odd 20 minute session at Oulton in mine and they were just fine, not troubled at all.
-
I'd be tempted to go for pillowball mounts for camber adjustment. Not sure how much of a benefit the TRD top mounts are.
-
If you're going for a setup utilising stock top mounts then yes, for the small extra cost as it'll give you a chance at getting some negative camber on.
