Might as well get DS2500's. Have them all round on my car. They are great on track and on the road. Dust isn't too bad either. Much, much better than other pads I had albeit on stock front calipers. Edit: Good choice.

You honestly haven't lived till you've been to Le Mans. I've been twice, the last time 15 years ago. Epic times, like Glastonbury for cars. I will go again one day.
-
For some dealers, Church. RRG Macclesfield have a Hunter alignment and will do it to your spec.
-
I've had a pro-install in my car for five years. Only a measly 950W with a Hertz amp running three channels. The audio power supply is taken straight off the battery. Whilst I would make sure you have the 65Ah battery, I've not had to upgrade my alternator. As for a higher rated alternator, you'd probably have to look at the alternator used for bigger engined Subarus.

No Laser alignment but will be good enough. They've set up plenty of cars after all.

Also just thinking if anyone has any problems finding it etc (It's easy to find though) my number is 0787 963 0071. There is some parking out the front on Finney Lane outside of Tesco Express and the other shops about 100m down the road from the restaurant. There is also parking behind the shops where there is a large free car park. I've booked the table for 8pm, but unlike the previous venue there isn't really a separate bar there, I could say meet at Houghies Café Bar from 7pm which is opposite my house, Outwood Road, Heald Green SK8 3LU. If anyone fancies doing this, please let me know. I'm on duty at work (so anything could happen) but all being well I should be home by 6pm ish.

More than several I would say. They do the map for their manifold (header is an annoying Amercanism) It's obviously best to get them to do the mapping with their exhaust manifold as they have done so many historically.

You should pass with the second cat still there.

Now you say that, I have absolutely no idea. Didn't think there were any changes to the white pearlescent. I would just get it sprayed to match if it didn't.

It's the same colour, yes. The stickers will be removable but I'm not sure how easy it will be.

Exactly, he is!

I totally agree with you about holding the wheel lightly so you have good feel and get decent feedback, but it's good to actually hold the wheel. If you hit a high kerb it could kick it out of your hands. I'll bet the brakes were starting to die on the latter part of the 'Ring. I've been caught out by that before on the second Karussel. Why not think about the TSS when you've had some practice? Always good fun to have competition. There's a fair few of us that do track days though for me it'll be as we head into autumn as there's too much going on and the sprint series to do at the moment.- 9 replies

I have a 12" sub in my boot for the last five years. Everything rattles if I turn the bass up. It's the limiting factor it seems. The whole car can resonate at times. I've never solved anything when it comes to rattles, I just don't have the bass too high (normally set at a fifth of what it can do).

@vanko25I would honestly say you're missing a trick if you don't do the Alps. Not much is more interesting than that. The Italian Dolomites are just stunning. Did the Hahntennjoch and Grossglockener in Austria before heading down to Cortina D'Ampezzio in Italy. I would say that's pretty interesting and the Italian Alps are just astonishing. Think of the food!

After I saw this I watched the vid. Blimey @LuckyLukeT you were pushing on there but blimey again hold the steering wheel properly! Push the wheel too, don't pull it. It looked like you were steering with your right hand for the most part. Having said all that you obviously have some ability, but you took so many risks and left no room for error. You got a bit lairy after the Karussel, especially though and after Brunchen. Living on the edge eh? I'm glad you survived! Do a load more trackdays in the UK, hone your skills and go again. Cadwell, Donington and Oulton are all good practice for the 'Ring.- 9 replies

Sounds really cool, it's been 12 years since I've last been to the Nordschleife and I would love to go back again. I went originally in 2005, a MK1 MR2 and then in 2006 in an E36 325i, which unfortunately had shot ball joints which I didn't fully appreciate until I went out on track. It was horrible! The MR2 though was fabulous and had a lot of fun chasing friends round the track. We stayed in Briedscheid at the hotel at the half way point and did the Pinochios Italian restaurant and of course Pisten Klaus for the massively over-rated cow on a rock. A huge highlight for me was getting a ride in a friend's 996 GT3RS. Just absolutely wow, easily the best car I've ever been in, it was in another league entirely from all else on track at the time. The musuem is well worth checking out and we also had a go at karting. I never timed any of my laps round the Ring as I was there to enjoy myself and I honestly think when people time themselves they are an accident waiting to happen. As you know so much can happen round the Ring and you never know what's going to be round the next corner! Just out of interest, how much is it a lap now? When I last went it was €15. Obviously we need to have a club excursion there at some point in the future. The last two times I drove there we tied it in with a track day at Spa, which is only a couple of hours away from the Ring. Why not drive the best two tracks back to back eh?- 9 replies

@vanko25 you can get a Sanef toll tag to put in your car so that don't have to keep stopping and paying cash on the Peage. If it's any help through France to Switzerland was about €40 each way. Tolls on the autostrada in Italy are a bit annoying and you can end up feeling like you are constantly stopping to pay at times. The prices in Italy seem to vary a lot. On my second trip to the Alps I realised that it was easy to cross over to Germany in Strasbourg and German autobahns have no tolls and are de-restricted of course all they way to Austria. I know that's not your route though, but it could be a good way back from Eastern Europe possibly. Enjoy your trip, Bob, glad you got to visit Reims-Gueux.

In terms of the map, it was updated a while ago and will just stay on whatever map you leave it on when you turn the car off. Ecutek updated this a few years ago now. You won't make anywhere near 230bhp. More like around 215bhp and you'd need to change the manifold to do that.

Welcome aboard. Any plans to play with the car?
