Sounds good and I do wonder as I edge ever closer to 50 whether at some point I'd want a more comfortable car like your's. The mods sound good, I just have this problem with weight but maybe I'll get over that.

Former owner looking to return, maybe ?
Lauren replied to shiftspark's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
If you can afford the Kouki model then it's a worthwhile improvement over the Zenki. The new suspension does ride bumps slightly better, the reinforcement to the chassis does reduce the NVH which is good, so it's a little bit more refined which for some makes it more appealling as a daily driver. Best bet is to try one I would say. -
Do what Will says. There's far more to gain from changing the manifold to make the most out of a remap.

20th May is Cumbria International Motor Show. Already have a number of us going to that one. I am in the midst of getting Japfest Donington sorted, hoping to get that up and running this week. There is also JAE which again I just need to post really. Another one on my list to get sorted in the next week or so. 31st August to 2nd September for JAE.

I run a 17x8" wheel with stock tyre sizes. I tried 225/45/17 but found the sidewall a bit floppy which impacted on the agility of the car. Lighter wheels mean better acceleration, better braking and better response. Smaller wheels are lighter. Also there are lots of options and variance with regard to wheel weight. If you are an enthusiastic driver I'd say you're going to notice a lighter wheel. If you are more orientated by looks then you will notice less. It depends upon how much you worry about such things. Forged wheels are the lightest of all but are more expensive. Really, the lighter the better.

Welcome aboard. I absolutely approve of a Spa and 'Ring trip. It's been so many years since I was last at both of those circuits, arguably the two greatest tracks ever. Enjoy!

I expect you'll gain as much with the TD EL manifold NA tune deal. Whatever manifold you choose will work well enough with a supercharger. Having driven the Spintex and the HKS setup I would go HKS everytime. The Cosworth and Harrop are better though, but I like the top end of the HKS if you want to go supercharger. I don't think using a cheaper EL (though aren't they all cheaper than the ACE?) will have that much of an impact. But I would say with an NA tune if you stick with that, long primaries are the key for torque in the manifold. I've been very impressed with the TD NA setup I have and having had a week of driving Welsh B roads at good speed there is never a feeling that I need more power. It just wouldn't really add to anything. I've gained nigh on 40lb/ft in the midrange which does make real difference.

I've got mine on the top of the A pillar on the passenger side.

For sale GT86 Giallo, Full Toyota history 19,500 miles
Lauren replied to Deanusrjm's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Cars
You may want to add how long the MOT is and the service history, or at least when the last service was done. Also please put where you are located. -
Probably the cars they get don't have a spoiler so they are putting the TRD ones one.

Tuning Developments' NA Package with Milltek Non Res-Mini Review
Lauren replied to GT MLT's topic in Tuning Developments
I was getting much the same readings with a non-res Milltek and primary cat with stock manifold. Generally I get around 90Db. Croft is always 92Db because they read high. I've never been to Bedford and have no intention of doing so, but it could just be they are more strict or the manner in which the marshal measures it. I do find my car is actually pretty quiet on the static test but it's obviously louder when out on track than it was before, though I have no readings for driveby. What I can say though having been on quite a number of different circuits since the manifold was changed and losing the primary cat is that nobody has ever pulled me for noise and I've had no warnings. -
What the spring rates are is basic information, I'm sure they can say what it is. I for one would never buy springs without knowing the rate.

Please post a price as per the selling rules on the forum.

Tuning Developments' NA Package with Milltek Non Res-Mini Review
Lauren replied to GT MLT's topic in Tuning Developments
Yep, you were right all along. It was always going to be the way that a non-res Milltek was going to be louder than the TD res system, though the TD systems are quieter than Milltek comparing like for like. -
Ask away. I've done loads of Euro trips over the last 18 years or so. Spa is a fantastic track, but the drive there is only four hours max and tediously boring I'm afraid.

Please don't. We don't want it looking like we are the Honda Civic lot at Japfest on the club stand. -
Tuning Developments' NA Package with Milltek Non Res-Mini Review
Lauren replied to GT MLT's topic in Tuning Developments
I haven't got a second cat either. So mine should be louder than yours. Maybe it's how they measure it, but more of an issue with the paltry driveby limits at Bedford. I've no interest in driving Bedford though and had no problems at Donny or Oulton with 92Db driveby limits. -

Mike B has the same setup as me so that would make sense and yes, I think it's about right. -
Tuning Developments' NA Package with Milltek Non Res-Mini Review

Well, I've had a few noise tests and that's what it comes out at. I've been on a variety of tracks and had no issues whatsoever and have had no noise warnings at all. -
Tuning Developments' NA Package with Milltek Non Res-Mini Review
Lauren replied to GT MLT's topic in Tuning Developments
Good stuff. I had the same, though opted to ditch my non-res Milltek as I was worried it would be too loud and went for a TD resonated system instead with a decat pipe to mate to my Milltek overpipe. Mine comes in at 90Db average tested at a fair few circuits now. Yours does sound good if a little loud for my taste, but 95Db is over twice as loud as mine. -
There seems to have been a few people with release bearing issues, but I cannot work out why. Take my car, still on it's original clutch and release bearing at 113K+ miles. Maybe it's how people are driving their cars, I'm trying to think what else it could be?

@VAD17 I did the Hahntennjoch and Grossglockner passes three years ago on my way down to Cortina D'Ampezzio taking in the amazing passes (almost too many to remember!) over the Dolomites to Lake Garda. All in my GT of course. This was after 250Km of de-restricted autobahn from Strasbourg all the way to Austria. Epic drive.

Seriously consider taking the Alps and going down the autobahn to Austria then through the Dolomites, down to Lake Garda and beyond. A far more epic drive I would say.
