LOL. Well I like my car to be sharp and I don't like sidewall flex so I run the minimum recommended width tyre for the width. I've spent ages looking at the Rays site but they don't make 17x8 TE37's anymore, so I can't buy anymore. My only option is to wait for another set or CE28's, to pop up. This may take years. If I could buy a new set, I would.
-
It really doesn't matter. I run TE37's which don't have centre caps, have done for over 80K miles. It's a non-issue.
-
They will hardly be stretched at all. 8.5" is better than 8" with a 225. I've run a 225/45/17 on my 8" TE37's. I didn't like it, too much sidewall flex, so I went back to a 215/45/17 which I've run ever since.

My throttle map is so sharp, it takes an incredibly delicate touch if you're not going to lurch forward when the engine is cold. I get this if I'm straight into traffic with a cold engine. It gets better when it's warmed a bit, but is tricky enough that I had to put it into a softer throttle map when Mark has driven the car. Trouble is the softer throttle map makes it feel like it's broken to me.
-
It would have reset the ECU which makes the car feel prettty flat when you first drive it. It might be different tomorrow though.

Funnily enough my accountant who happens to be in the midst of sorting my accounts works for a company that supplies Miller Oils, so I've asked him.
-
I don't want to be changing it every 9 months to be fair. Two years or for me, 20K miles is more like it.
-
Just thinking, is a litre enough, or will I need two? And thank you, you lot for all the helpful advice. Much appreciated.

Thanks for all the info on fluid and stuff. Just ordered the kit from Brummie land. Should be landing at RRG for Friday or Monday. Reckon I'll try 5.1 then and see how I go which Richard should be able to get for me.
-
Okay seriously thinking about going for the AP option. What fluid is recommended?
-
I just had another look, there are options for straight, J-hook or curved grooves with the Reyland discs, so that option is there.
-
Yeah sure, there is a reason why the Ryland discs are cheaper. But I would expect it to still far exceed stock brakes and aftermarket pads and well, discs are consumables of course. Good news on the replacement pads then.

Welcome aboard. Looks like you are well on the slippery slope of modifying! The TD NA tuning package is well worthwhile, quite a few of us are running this now.
-
That's actually quite a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. Very tempting indeed. The four pots will fit under 17" wheels too. I notice it comes with DS2500, which a lot don't seem to like. Are they going to be up to the job? I guess a much bigger contact patch and bigger discs will help.

I really wouldn't recommend the action days. Always full of billies who don't know what they are doing. Better to do a proper trackday.
-
Welcome aboard, Luke. Hope you find it useful here. Your car is looking good, are you dying to lower it?
-
Mine is alright. No cats and a resonated system. You hear it if you accelerate but it's fine when cruising. I took it to the middle of Germany and back and was only down to London last weekend and Snetterton the weekend before. No problem.

It's the Toyota Sprint Series. Six sprints in a season at various circuits. We've had a GT86 championship now for about four years with classes attributed to modifications. It's a great social and it's so nice to have a bit of competition. look up: www.toyotasprint.com

Or you could just get used to it like everyone else. Give it time, see how it goes.
-
Another recommendation for the TD EL manifold and remap. Also whilst I was there I went for a full resonated TD system and decat. I've kept my Milltek overpipe in the mix. The difference is very surprising in the mid range as you can see from the graph! Noise wise it's fine and I've had no problem on track. Lower graph (red) was when I already had a remap and second decat with overpipe and Milltek res. Orange is with the manifold and new system. If you look at the graph around 3750rpm it's a torque peak rather than a torque dip! GT86- Manifold and Exhaust by Lauren Blighton, on Flickr

Your other option is to fit a bigger steering wheel if you can find one from another car that keeps the airbag. May be possible. I actually run a 10mm smaller diameter wheel which makes the steering a bit heavier still, but I like the accuracy of it.

We have over 9000 members on the DC Facebook page. I do most of the running of it. Rob does a bit. Seems to be managable between two of us, though we do actually have three admins, just in case.

Blimey, that was an expensive mirror replacement! Fair play, enjoy!
-
I don't condone it either way, but seeing as I have no clue what has happened, how can I possibly comment?
