The more mileage you do, the more likely it is to happen. I've had three go in 106K miles.

Clearance Whiteline Bushes - Rear trailing arm - lower front bush
Lauren replied to Lucas's topic in Part-Box
The difference is cumulative, Ade. There is no deterioration in ride quality at all. I admit, I went for the no messing approach as the biggest improvement is from doing the lot. -
If there is one thing that's inevitable it's EML's from coilpacks.

FWIW, this post got me thinking and I decided seeing as I use my car everyday for work and well, everything, it made sense to take out the extended warranty for two years. My car is not yet 5 years old but has crossed the 100K mile mark. It's £546 all in. Or £45.50 a month for 12 months interest free. That's with RRG Macclesfield of course.

But who honestly in their right mind wants a set of Rotas? But yes, they do cost that much, more with subframe inserts is around £700 then add fitting which takes quite some time and another alignment. Whilst you're at it, you'd want to get adjustable lower control arms which vary from £240- 540 and there's no point doing that without coilovers as well..... Think I've spent about £5K in all over suspension related stuff! -

No worries, it's just putting those bushes in will throw the alignment out, it always does. Best bet if you're going to polybush is to change the lot including the subframe inserts, it's what I did, but it isn't cheap to do. But I did mine as it was high mileage. -

They're not adjustable but you wouldn't have adjustable bushes on these parts. But you will need to re-do your alignment if you fit them. It's only toe though that you can adjust on the rear. -
Welcome aboard, enjoy your new car. It's Alcantara, not suede. Alcantara is a synthetic material which is much more durable than suede. I've had mine for over 100K now, I clean the leather using Autoglym leather cleaner but have always just vacuumed the Alcantara. Seems to be fine to me, so I'm not convinced you really need to treat it with anything. Mine had Supaguard from new. Not really sure what difference that actually makes though.

On gear changes. First to second should be fine even when cold. It's coming down from third to second that is always a pain as it pretty much always takes me two attempts to get it into gear every morning for the first time that I do it. The problem resolves itself after five minutes of driving as the gear box oil warms a bit.

Fair points, Kev. I think it was more that I was being thrown around in the car added with my dislike for being a passenger made it hard work with how quickly the car could change direction. I was hoping for a smooth ride. But, yes, running sticky tyres is a whole other ball game and I admit, not one I've ever really been involved in. Yes, I've driven a Formula Renault on slicks for a lap and a half round Silverstone, as we ran out of time (a crying shame, that). But otherwise I've never had sticky tyres on my cars and the cars I raced in tintops were on road tyres, so it may be what I'm used to. Of course I'll take you out, going to be doing some trackdays over the winter, will let you know.

Ade, no offence taken. I went out in Kev's car on the DZ03's and hated it. Got chucked about in the car and it just seemed like some form of torture. Kev admitted it was different and not as much fun, as the car just stuck, seemed to take the skill out of it for me. But, it might have been better had I been wearing a harness. I like grip, but not too much, was too much for me. Do bear in mind though it will other items such as bushes, balljoints more as the load is much greater.

Yep, see what you mean. I used to work for Bookatrack of course. MSV don't allow it either. Javelin recommend it, so it comes down to whether you want to risk it, your life of course. I admit, I wouldn't get in a car on slicks without a roll cage. Last time I went in a car with slicks was with Anthony Reid in a GT86 CSV3. The experience was dominated by the grip. It was fast, which was impressive, but it wasn't much fun really.
-
Well, they shouldn't be. Any decent TDO won't allow slicks without a cage for a reason of course. I know this of course from working for a TDO and policing this on the pitlane.

I think you'll find that it won't really offer any gains. I've got an intake that is very similar to yours and I'm not making any more than all the others with panel filters and the same manifold and a remap. Induction noise sounds a bit better though. All the gains will come from the manifold and cat delete really.

RRG Macclesfield do an extended two year warranty: http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/topic/5101-extended-warranty-gt86-offer/ They are easily the best Toyota dealer when it comes to GT86's. My car is over 100K so now out of warranty. I must admit, I haven't as of yet taken out the warranty am a bit in two minds as I have money saved for any emergencies, but the car has been very reliable so far. I guess coil packs which always seem to rear their head every 30K miles or so will keep happening, but I guess it's weighing it up against the cost of the warranty opposed to what it will cost me to change some coilpacks. It is a fair deal really.
-
Are you putting a roll cage in? TDO's won't let you run without if you want to use slicks.
-
Yes, I knew about it, but because I always reverse in when I park, they are of no use and I can see anyway.
-
Congrats on the impending new car. Probably better to ask what you want to know as I expect you know the obvious stuff. If it came from the dealer they will have the exact spec they ordered of course. If your sales guy was poor, speak to the after sales manager or manager. They will have the full history as well of course. It really should be pretty easy for them to give that information to you. I would absolutely expect that as a given.
-
The 12year warranty is clearly for body panels. This is not a body panel, so it will not be covered, I would say. But it is still within the usual 5 year warranty.
-
Does that come under the corrosion warranty though? If it does, cool as I would like to get mine sorted.
-
It's heavier than the Yaris and actually has some feel, which the Yaris doesn't. That's how it is.
-
That will be because full leather wasn't an option till around March 2013.

Whilst KW's are more premium, I wouldn't have any concerns about TEIN's. I've had them on my car for around 80K miles now. Longetivity is the reason why I chose TEIN and went with a twin tube design. It's simply well proven. The EDFC Active Pro has been faultless too.

Great stuff that you got the car. Now go and enjoy it. Look out for social meets around your area, there is a fair amount going on.

Lauren replied to jevvy's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
I only pulled you up again, Jevvy because your pics weren't working. It's frustrating because I've had this issue with you more than everyone else put together. Whether you are trading or not does not depend on what items you put on the car, it's how much you sell. I did have a quick look yesterday at lunchtime and just about all your posts are selling items. So in my view you are trading. The problem is we expect traders to abide by the rules and you are terrible at following the rules, i.e, price, pictures (which would be so much better in the actual thread) and an accurate description. I think the feedback you've had is telling and is probably why you aren't selling much.
