Swanky Head unit, STI Brakes, last of my bits : (

You have been asked over and over about not posting pictures up. I don't single you out, I do the same to everyone. You have had issues where you have bought items off other members only to relist them at a higher price a few weeks later. Understandably this pisses people off. It's supposed to be about the members helping each other, not maximum profit. It is abundantly clear that you are a bedroom trader and you don't pay any trader fees. I really think you should! You should be posting pictures up in a thread like everybody else easily manages to do rather than linking them to a gallery. It's a shit way of doing it. You effectively cause me a lot of work in not following basic rules of posting pictures up and often not providing the detail that is necessary to describe an item. I am bored to death of constantly having to pull you up on this. You wouldn't be singled out if you followed the basic and simple rules about for sale items, but you don't. -

It's called selling the hard way I think. FFS Jevvy sort it out. Everyone else can manage it, why can't you? -
Yes, you have the pain of LHD. RHD is better in this respect as there's more room. I have size 6 feet. Probably smaller than most of the guys on here. I also only drive in either driving shoes, really thin soled boots or barefoot. I don't ever really drive in anything that is not ideal. Like you say, the more you practice the better you get. I have driving Mark's car managed to heel and toe in walking boots, more for the challenge of doing it than anything else! But if you just do it simply all the time on the road, it makes a huge diference to how competent you are and finessing it when you are not braking hard, just helps you practice the technique more.
-
Experience makes you better and more adaptable when it comes to heel and toeing. I can do it in Mark's Yaris for example which is diabolical for heel and toeing. You don't have to turn your ankle that much in a GT86, it's far more about technique. When I started heel and toeing I got a pedal extender, to make it easier as I was struggling. That was in a MK1 MR2. There is nothing wrong in doing that. Nowadays I just don't need it. My ankle extension is the same as it was then.
-
You can certainly use the pedal extender if you are new to heel and toeing. However with practice and experience, I feel that the GT86 with the stock pedals is about the easiest car to heel and toe that there is. But, I have been doing it endlessly for over 15 years now. The key is to do it absolutely all the time and learn how to do it even when you are not braking hard, that's where the finesse comes in, which is what it's all about really. Here's an article I wrote about it, back in 2003: http://www.mr2.net/trackdayqueen/heelandtoe.htm

Wanted: Set of wheels for three weeks or so in November

Thanks for the kind offers guys, very much appreciated. I'll have a think. Haven't actually got a date from the bodyshop yet. But it will be November. -

My car is going into the bodyshop for some remedial repairs on previous work I had done. I think the car will be gone about three weeks at a guess, maybe a bit quicker. I would like to get my TE37's refurbed whilst the car is in, but would need a set of wheels to send it off to the bodyshop. If anyone in the Manchester area has a spare set of wheels with legal tyres that I could borrow that would be fab. Alternatively if anyone has a used 215/45/17 I could put this on one of my spare rims and make a full set and do it that way. -
It will work, even better if the 16" wheels are as light as possible like say CE28's. All about reducing the rolling radius of course.
-
Good luck finding your GT. Most have a black interior so that won't be a problem. Not that many chose the boudoir red interior option, thankfully.
-
TRD's are fairly rare, but that's a £4K premium over a stock car. Okay mileage is low and if it's perfect, then you make your choices, I guess.
-
With PS4's yes, Pro class. You don't need to worry about roll cages or fire extinguishers, it's fine. Deleting the seats will put you in pro class if you are thinking about doing next year.
-
Yep, that would put him up a class.

The helmet size won't change, as has been said never buy a helmet without trying it on first. You only have one head, so how much you spend depends upon how much you value it. Car type helmets (FR) are fire retardant. Also may be worth considering an open face helmet, it's a lot nice to use than a full face and if you're only going out in tintops then it would always be my preference. I got a Bell Mag helmet for around £200, seems reasonable and have used it for three years now.

Honestly Joe, just happy to have a way of sorting it. -

They're not on stock rims? That would be shocking! -

Thanks, Joe, that's a good option. I wouldn't be looking to drive on them, I guess the car would be driven to the bodyshop and back. -
Welcome aboard, another Club Sport! Looking very good. Look out for local meets, there's quite a lot going on in the Midlands.

Thanks for the offer, Jamie, let me know if you are going to RRG at the weekend, I may just be on the way. It might be easier to borrow Mike's or ask Alec if he's stuck his winter tyres on by then. Or I wonder if the better option is to simply borrow that one wheel off Mike? -
It's really easy if you are just on the motorway and stick the cruise control on at 55mph and sit behind the trucks.
-
You could do that, or just get it replaced under warranty which is free.

That will dot the job I think. Thanks for the other offers, but local is obviously better for me. It only has to go on for the bodyshop so as long as it's legal it, will do. I've got one Primacy on a wheel, the other two I have a contisport contact 5's that are not on the wheels, but have tons of tread. I just didnt like them. I suppose it will be cheaper for me if I don't have to mount any tyres onto rims. -
When developing the car, Toyota spent a lot of time on the gearchange feel, to make it feels as it does, so it's intentional. 1st shouldn't be difficult to select though. I've not experienced that in the GT's I've driven.

The FRS was a poverty spec version of the GT86. More basic interior, no HID's, no undertrays, lesser spec interior, but it's the same car apart from being LHD.

If it gets better after driving for five minutes or so, they are all like that. This will not change either. Changing the oil won't make a difference either. It's just how they are. You'll notice it more the colder it gets. But it soon passes.
