Looking good, Dom. Did you put some negative camber on the front and the rears? I do wonder if the lower spring rate on the rear (which is not like other setups) is a contributing factor here in the understeer.
-
Great stuff! The 2017 doesn't come with a reversing camera. As other's have said there are other ways to improve the car.
-
It's already here. RRG have one.
-
That's good to hear, though I expect it will not be cheap, given the amount of damage. Phew! You don't need a turbo.

Welcome, Alan. The UK has a special edition called the 'Clubsport' that looks to be the same colour as yours. The colour here is called 'solar orange'. I don't know whether or not this special edition is available in the US, but this is odd, as I wasn't aware they were painting white cars orange! I've never seen this before either. If the UK special edition was like this, I am sure that Richard at RRG Macc' would have commented if it was white under the bonnet. All other GT86's have the same colour of the car under the bonnet albeit with the paint looking dull, no clear coat I suppose. Have you lifted the cover in the boot (trunk to you) to see if it's orange or white there?

I don't use them on mine either. Get auto blip if you can't drive, i.e., can't heel and toe, though I'd recommend learning to heel and toe and it's a piece of cake with the peddle position in the GT. Needless to say, I didn't have that option added on my map. I have got flat foot shifting, though I never use it. Ditto launch control. I don't get how it works and the only way to launch is relatively slowly really. I have got the 95 RON fuel map, though in 98K miles my car has never seen 95 RON fuel, so again, fairly pointless. I just leave it one map all the time. Seems to work fine. But you've got four maps, so may as well have some options on the ones you'll never use.

What a shame. It's one of those experiences where I guess you learn the hard way. As can be expected in 17 years of track driving I've had the odd close call, but fortunately no damage. Tin top racing is another matter, but then you have other cars to hit and well, I've hit a few and a few have hit me. I totalled one nice RX8 at Brands Hatch in 2004, but fortunately Mazda UK, never said a thing! I do hope it's repairable, I guess fixing that rear three quarter is a big part of that. Fingers crossed on that count.

Yep, they certainly quieten down if I brake hard. I did get them really blue on the discs at Blyton in the first few runs. I do tend to find though that I'm barely using the brakes on the road in day to day driving through, which obviously makes them louder and louder, so it seems!
-
Mine had nothing, just a box.
-
I didn't start it.
-
Not really. Just because you followed the manufacturers instructions which were not included with the pad and your's dont' squeal, doesn't mean that everyone else has the same experience. I looked for a bedding in procedure, there wasn't a definitive one that I could find. The squealing is driving me mad. I don't want to buy a new set of pads after about 3K miles or whatever it is, but I'm coming close to that. In all honesty, a quiet pad is right at the top of my list of requirements. I sprint my car mostly, so brake pads don't hugely matter. The only time I've had a problem with pads on track is when they're getting a bit thin, like at Oulton in February and Castle Combe at Japfest 2015. As long as there is enough meat on them they all work fine really, including stock pads. The Stoptechs were the quietest pad I've had.
-
I wasn't able to bed my pads in, having a dog in the car being the main issue. I did bed them in at Blyton at the sprint which I wouldn't recommend.
-
Stoptechs. Much preferred those. In all honesty, I think comparing the stock pads, to Stoptech and Project Mu, they're all the same in the end. They will all fade away, so I'm starting to think it's just money for old rope.
-
Too expensive. Not paying that much. Under a £100 is preferable. The Project Mu's were expensive, but shite. I've only done about 5K miles on them. Not making that mistake again. Kev found me some PFC's for £50 for the fronts, but the rears are £129, so not keen on that. I may just go back with the Stoptechs. Their quietness being the main selling point.
-
My pads are driving me bonkers, to the point of where I'm looking to change them, just for a quieter life!
-
I'm not sure I'd recommend the Project Mu's. They squeal like an absolute bastard in gentle road braking. They also seem to generate a huge amount of dust that seems to have eaten though the powder coat on my wheels. They work okay in practice, no problems with feel, though I'm not sure they are that much better if at all than the cheaper Stoptech option. I've also got the issue of a sintered rear pad again on the rear so it squeaks when I'm not on the brakes at 20mph.

I would say that if the poo is recent, then Autoglym wipes are great. Particularly so if it's fresh. But if it's old, better to sort it at home. It's all about keeping on top of it and if you do the Autoglym wipes are very handy indeed.
-
I've not noticed that. Seems to get the bird poo off pretty well.
-
You can get sachets for wiping off bird poo from Autoglym. Think I got mine in Halfords.

Looks fab, Andrew.
