Fade it to the rear and see how useless they are. Pretty sure the speakers are the same in both cars.

HKS Panel Filter & Spark Plugs - Warranty void?
Lauren replied to Tim86's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I would be surprised if it's an issue. The air filter won't matter, but it's not a good idea fitting anything other than OEM plugs. The stock ones last 60K miles after all. OEM equivalent is not OEM. I must admit I only fit OEM ignition components to my cars. The plugs aren't even that expensive. -
SOLD: HKS EL Manifold - Brand new in box!

Please put up a price. Cheers. -
I've got different Focals in mine with a crossover which were a fair bit more than the plug and pray replacement Focal speakers so I can't comment I'm afraid. I would say mine are far better than JBL's but I've got a £3K install, so it's night and day really.

Just turn up, BBQ provided for free too.

You are seriously better off buying an aftermarket head unit. You can get a top of the range Alpine for a grand. There are loads of more integrated options for carplay and android as well. Though they don't seem to feature yet amongst the top brands. My Alpine INE 925R was a grand four year ago, it's cheaper now and has much better nav than what is on the Toyota system and DAB. It'll improve your sound quality too, but you may want to consider at least upgrading your front speakers which will still be cheaper than the Subaru Sat nav option.

Failing that, there is a big meet coming up in the NW area in Warrington on Sunday 16th April: There will be a huge turnout and there is a curry the night before in Chester as well if you're interested.

If you're bored this weekend and at a loose end a load of us will be at Blyton Park (near Scunthorpe) for the first round of the sprint sereis on Sunday. Bit of a trek, well a couple of hours for you, but you are more than welcome to come and meet a load of us.

Peter, if you can make it to a NW meet, I'm happy to show you what I had done ICE wise in my car. I did go the full hog, but it makes a tremendous difference. Many people have swopped the front speakers for Focal replacements and that does make a big difference. If you don't have sat nav then a different head unit is a good option. The stock one is a bit limited especially if you want to add a sub, but obviously depends how far you want to go with it. If like me you're going to keep the car for a long time, then it really can make a lot of sense to get these things how you want it.
-
Welcome aboard Peter, look out for NW meets in social meets. You don't need to use the rear speakers, unfortunately they're useless, but it would be better just to fade it to the front as in such a small cabin rear speakers are pointless anyway. It is normal, the rear speakers are only there I reckon to make up the number of speakers in the marketing brochure. They don't contribute anything. I have a complete install done on mine as I was so dissapointed by the stock system. My new (well four years old now!) setup doesn't have rear speakers. The JBL system is miles better than stock, but it's still not good enough IMO. You can improve things by changing the front speakers out for a set of plug and pray Focals, though it depends what you want to do really. I had all my audio pulled out and relegated to the shed when my car was a month old.

Very boudoir! Mark will love it. Surprised you didn't go for the full boudoir spec with the red seats.

I don't know if something has changed in the last four years but my parking sensors were definitely fitted at my dealer. Just checked the pics on it's arrival off the transporter to confirm.

If it's halfway when it's cold, it's fine. I've left mine like that for the last 95K miles. It gets to the full mark when hot. It's fine. I would only use the correct coolant given it's got such a long life. Think it's 140K miles IIRC before it's due a change.

That is frustrating. Pretty sure the parking sensors are fitted by the dealer though. Good luck though, do keep us posted.

Is there anything else I can try with my suspension before replacing it
Lauren replied to ThatGuyThere's topic in Mechanical
No, running a camber of 2 degrees negative is not a problem on the road. It handles better, well the turn in is better and there is a lot less understeer. Camber is but one factor that contributes to increased cornering speed, but it's a relevant one. 2 degrees negative camber does not affect tyre wear, anymore would though. I've run this setup for 70K miles and my tyre wear is pretty even. My car is my daily car. I use it not only for commuting but for my work as well, so I'm driving around a fair bit during my working day. With the EDFC I have a setup for driving on the road which means it runs full soft at slow speeds with damping force increasing when my speed increases and of course when cornering as the EDFC works on lateral and longitudinal G-force as well as having GPS to adjust damping force for speed. I spent quite a lot of time programming it to find the settings I like. Most of the others running EDFC Active Pro use my settings. -

It's the modern world, Stevo. As I use Japanese suspension the rates are always in metric. I see you've had to resort to American to find imperial. -

Most are done in metric. 6/5kg is the spring rate. I run 5/6kg on my setup. Most run 6/6kg. -

Not really! But his new setup has only just been tested on the track. Have to wait till the first round to see. Mine is totally unchanged again! -

Are they real TRD though? And do they end up not being lined up when you turn them? 25.5C is a bit warm for me. -

He's changed it since last year. -
Are you sure about that? This instance is one where the keys were stolen, which seems to be the way it is. Not heard of anyone being able to steal one without the keys

I'm talking about Mike Pease who knows Snetterton far better than I do. The year previous he competed in his supercharged GT86 in pouring rain and he even beat Adrian. He was seriously quick. Mike was a fair bit slower than me at all the other rounds though, but at Snetterton he is a bit of a specialist. -

If you have TEIN suspension like I do and have the EDFC Active Pro adjusting the damper settings for the track is merely a matter of pressing a couple of buttons on the EDFC unit, to set to my track settings. The TEINS have adjustable top mounts so front camber is adjustable, though you don't really go and change your camber just for the track. The rears as with any other coilover setup require adjustable lower control arms or offset bushes (as I have) to adjust the camber. 2 degrees negative camber all round makes a big difference for the track. The bump and rebound adjust together (not indepedently) on the TEINs. But even if you don't have EDFC, it's simply a matter of twisting the knobs on top of the damper unit under the bonnet and in the boot. The work of a moment really. Don't forget track days are not competitive. IME a Golf GTI will be easy to beat. I was easily quicker on a sprint than my friends 375bhp remapped Golf R, though the track did not have long straights. In regard to being quicker than your colleagues, will wholly depend upon how good a driver you are. This will be far more of a factor than the car. -

Yeah, don't see any issue with that. But Toyota have made the parts for the new car expensive to put off people trying to make their zenki models look like a kouki. How expensive can it be though, I wonder?
