Sure, don't want to take the thread off somewhere else. Water air can be good, but air to air is always preferable if you can do it. It's the simplest and most efficient way to cool the intake air.
-
Don't forget the turbo has a front mounted air/air intercooler which is the best option for efficiency. Basically with a front mounted intercooler you are unlikely to have any issues. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for those with a water/air intercooler between their superchargers and inlet manifold as we have seen with the Sprintex setup.

I don't see why you couldn't change a coilpack yourself. Depends how much they are. Think it was around £30-40 when I was offered one.

A 1.2 turbo though. Woeful performance. -

I really like the look of it too, though I've yet to see one in the flesh. I was, though a little dissapointed at the lack of a more performance orientated model, with the top one seeming to be the Prius engine and hybrid setup. -
It's the weight listed in the article. Two tonnes is crazy heavy, so yes it is well over compared to the competition. This will cause it the same problem as the RCF (which is 1700kgs and too heavy).

If I was you, I'd just stick a good road tyre on. You also get the benefit of getting used to it and playing with it on the road, so you are better prepared for what it will be like on track. Better suspension will reap more dividends than putting a stickier tyre on. Plus you'll learn more. No offence to those that do, but a lot of people put a stickier tyre on as it means they will be less likely to reach the limit of grip and thus they learn less about the cars handling and develop their car control to a lesser degree. Choices etc.
-
The big issue will be this: Kerb weight 1935kg. This will impact too much on how it drives.

It's not ideal tbh. It will work and you will go round the track quicker, though track days are not about setting laptimes. A better bet would be to fit a decent list 1a tyre as it will be a lot more fun anyway. Then you can just run them all the time if you so wish. A grippier tyre means that when the car does slide you will be doing so at a higher speed, so it maybe harder to catch and will work the stock suspension harder. I used the Primacy tyres on stock suspension for the first two years I had the car. It's surprising how quick you can go on them if you know your stuff and it was an absolute hoot and helped me to learn the car and with sliding at slower speeds, I could play with it more. I even ran the Primacy tyre when I changed my suspension and kept them on for sprinting and the occasional track day. These days though I prefer the balance of running a better road tyre (Yoko V105) when I'm on track and what I use as my road tyre anyway. Have you done a lot of track work?

Cups 2's are only on the 1a list if you own a car that comes with them as standard, like a GT3 RS etc.
-
Would be list 1A if it's the same. Guess we'll find out in 2017 when the new tyre list is released.
-
Is that going to be an MSA List 1B? Can't find it listed.

In regard to induction kits, they are wonderful for noise of course. I've had te Injen induction kit on mine since I bought the car new. It was one of very few available at that point. It does sound great at 7K rpm to the redline. The Blitz SUS Advance Suction Kit sounds even better I reckon, but there is a price to pay for that lovely noise. I did get a power increase before the remap with it too as it leans out the fuel/air mixture a tad. But really the gains are probably not worth the money. But it does sound nice and you won't get that with just a filter. -
An interesting article regarding modifying

Yep, stripping an interior is the best way to totally ruin a car for the road. I did it once with one of my cars which was only used for trackdays and I did do a lot of them, but never would I do that again. -
An interesting article regarding modifying
Lauren replied to TTR's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
I think he makes some interesting points, once you can put aside the waffle. But interesting point about having a 'built' engine in that it is overpowering the chassis when get to that point and that is relevant I think. For example, driving two AVO turbo cars back to back, one of which was a stage 1 with around 280bhp and another which was stage 3 with apparently 330bhp (I don't think it was that much though). I found I much preferred the stage one as the stage three just felt too much for it. Tons of power is great fun, but to me, it quickly defines what the car is about above all else and I'm not sure that's satisfying after a time. I also think the point about knowing when to stop is a very relevant one. A lot of people will pretty much endlessly modify their car, but why not just get to a point where you're happy with it? The best cars out there are the ones you don't need to modify of course, though all said and done the GT86/BRZ is made for aftermarket tuning. The point about not modifying the driver, i.e., learning how to drive and how to handle the car is a very valid one. Too often, people who only have the skill to drive in a straight line at speed, add more power to make up for their lack of ability. This just compounds the problem. If you can't drive the stock car decently fast, it makes perfect sense to get some tuition before you start doing upgrades. But IMO far too few do. -
Welcome aboard. Always much fun to be had over the EVO Triangle, driven it many times. You should look out in the social events and events forum for stuff coming up. We're trying to get some local meets going and to be fair there is always a fair amount going on in the south east with a seemingly regular meet at the Grasshopper, Westerham. Enjoy.

Great stuff, Ross. I must say, looked a very tidy install. I could tell you were dying to get back in it for that drive home.
-
So how is it then? I really don't want to make any comments about asking what the ride is like!
-
You can buy touch up paint from Toyota. Why not do that? It's not expensive.
-
Bring it on, talk is cheap and all that.

Glad you've finally found a solution, Jordan after all the crap that's gone on. Having seen the kind of responses you've had it really is appalling, but I just hope you get the car in two weeks and not in a total mess. Fingers crossed that you can move it forward.

Interesting. What internals is it running? I expect we'll do a few warm up trackdays before the start of the TSS. Keep an eye out for them.

MFactory Final Drive Kits in stock at Tuning Developments for GT86 and BRZ
Lauren replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Yes, okay. But it reads as if you're questioning whether the UK spec has the new final drive that is applied to other markets. I know I'm correct. I get what you're saying now. I was quite close to banging my head against a wall! I only repeated myself because Kev didn't listen.- 101 replies
