Welcome aboard, Mas's old car. I remember chatting to him at JAE, he was talking about selling it. I expect you'll have some fun with that. I'm guessing it's running around 280bhp now it has an engine with stock internals in it? You should think about the TSS next year, give Rob a run for his money in the FI class and see if you can beat the NA's in the street class.

Guilty pleasures. What would you give up your GT86 for?

No LSD must have been a killer then! -
I've already got the Whiteline bushing in the void.

4C whilst having so much potential, never fulfilled it and is yet another flawed attempt at a sports car by Alfa Romeo unfortunately. Drive before you buy and all that. -
Richard is quite right, it's just an inspection at 40K miles. I've done 92K miles and am still on the original oil. I've had no problems and I don't understand this notion of the gearbox getting a 'bit sloppy' in all honesty. It works fine and is only a bit stiff when cold, but I've not noticed any difference between how it is in normal driving and how it is on a trackday, it just seems to work the same.

I really wouldn't worry about changing those items back, there is no reason to believe that it would have any effect on the warranty. As for the hole in the cam cover, that is odd, but you need to get it looked at.

A good way of telling how your tyres are is that they gain a blue tinge when they've been heat cycled too many times. The Conti's are quite predictable but not so hot on lateral grip was my feeling when I ran them. Unless you're pushing on very hard, sport mode is the mode of choice on the road I would say. Still, as you say lesson learned, look forward to meeting you at the TSS at some point.

Great stuff! Ah, well I knew it was you that didn't make it to Angers in the summer. I heard something about an accident on the slip road. Dare I ask, plans for the TSS next year?
-
It should be part of the service cost. Can't see why it would cost extra.
-
According to the manual, yes.
-
Providing you have a FTSH, then you should have a chance.

Actually the car is fastest whilst driving in the tyres slip angle. This is slightly over the grip limit.

So Drivetribe has been launched. It's a kind of newsfeed with channels on all aspects of cars based on the premise of there being hundreds of channels to choose from that will potentially provide content that will suit just about any flavour of petrolhead. From the silly (dogs in cars) to classic, vintage, racing and drifting as well as the car scene in any probably any country you'd like to pick. The quality of content is variable, but such things are expected. Clarkson, Hammond and May have their channels naturally, but there are the likes of EVO staffers doing their stuff and I have to say, some of it, like Jethro Bovingdon's 'Eleven Tenths', is simply excellent. Other stuff, can seem just like a Facebook page with people posting pics of their cars up, offering basically nothing really. Tribes like JDM seem to be like this. Still it's easy enough to remove a tribe from your favourites. I have already managed to find some good stuff on Japanese Car Culture, though you should check out Noriyaro (who I've been following on YT for years). Alan is already on it with his Blackmarket Tribe, looking at the modified JDM scene here in the UK, mostly about shows and the like it seems. So there should be something for everyone. Rob, Keith and I were discussing whether there was any merit in starting a tribe for the club, though there were concerns it further fragments members, but then again, may catch others with a wider audience. The trouble is, it needs content and someone willing to write. It's all still under discussion, as to a point it depends a lot on whether this new forum will take off. I've had thoughts of doing a tribe myself. Really for me I was just thinking about doing it about stuff I'm interested in, with vids (as Mark is a demon editor) and I've done my share of presenting on the telly already, so I'm no stranger to having a camera in my face. I might also write some articles and reviews. It will certainly be interesting to see where all this goes. If anyone wants to go see what it's about: https://drivetribe.com Code is 906488GTB

It's an interesting argument. But I do think most of the cars today have an excess of grip. Back in the old days, when I was driving around in 70's and 80's cars, it was mostly the other way round. Cars weren't overtyred then and you could never forget that when pushing on. But it did allow you to tune into the handling a lot more as going over the limits of grip was something that was a daily occurrence and in the dry too. These days most will only experience a loss of grip on wet and greasy roads, but really, hardly ever in the dry as you are always in within the limit of the grip of the tyre pretty much whatever you do. I can only see this as dumbing down as it takes no skill if you are driving within the grip limits of the tyre. However, I would agree that driving well and within the grip limits does take some skill, but it takes a lot more when you get into the slip angle of the tyres which is where the fun starts. My worry is that too much grip, means the fun as such, never starts.

Try and get somewhere in Chester. It's a lovely city full of good restaurants and bars.
-
Welcome aboard, a load of us are going over to see Adam and his new business, so we'll see you there.
-
So in English, 9.07kg. That's pretty light for the wheel, though the tyres will weigh some in those sizes. Isn't 255's or such enough? Reckon with such wide front tyres, it'll tramline like a b'stard.

I've been through two so far. Weirdly Coil Pack A both times. I've done 92K miles. Had one replaced last month.

Congrats on the rather good Birthday pressie to yourself, today has been a good day, I'll bet. We are in the midst of winter, but check out the social meets and events section for what's going on.

I must admit, I haven't tried doing it on the rears. Doddle on the front though.
-
Make sure you haven't disabled the passenger window.
-
If the window buttons are flashing then you need to reset them. Hold down both buttons for ten seconds then pull up. Should sort it.

Mine is crap, yes, though it does the job. A better one would be nice, but such things don't bother me that much.
