I wouldn't skimp on plugs, just because HKS ones are a bit cheaper. Unless you need a different heat range due to forced induction, then stick with OEM. There is nothing to gain from fitting 'upgraded' plugs.

Very few people have received a letter. Not having it done will have no effect on the MOT. You could just contact your local dealer, that's what most are doing.

No, it can't. Toyota are paying for it. So you can't take a Toyota to a Subaru dealer for the work and vice-versa.

Just take a feed from the battery or find a permanent live. As to whether it would drain your battery overnight, depends on current draw. Would be a simple matter of doing the maths.

@Gregski They will change your spark plugs for cost of the plugs as they have to come out anyway to do the recall. Up to you about the clutch, 70k miles is not a lot for a clutch, but it may be worth replacing depending upon how it was driven. Again no labour charge for this.

I wouldn't worry about it, you probably won't notice any difference in a car like that.

The mapping will more increase the mid-range torque which is definitely worth doing, but keeping the primary cat may limit what benefit you can get. But, it would be worth getting it mapped. The map won't make a difference to the sound as such, so it if doesn't burble now, it's unlikely to after the map.

Welcome aboard, Peter. Enjoy the car. Have you had it remapped yet? You'll need to do it that with the manifold, though as you've still got the primary cat, it's probably not much different to stock. I'm not sure I'd bother with a Berk cat for the front pipe, better to go with a straight though pipe if you've still got a primary cat.
I'm afraid you won't get a Supra as a courtesy car. I got a Blue Edition with Performance Pack, see if you can better that. 🤣

Yes it is or over-sizing the crank pulley is the other way. The tough issues is insuring that the intercooling is up to the job as there will be increased heat generated especially if you start to over drive the supercharger.

Very nice. We have a GT86 RC drift car. Sorry don't have any pics, but has all the working lights and all that. Took it to an RC drift club for a time (it was the other half's). He then got bored of it and it's not turned a wheel since! 😂

The problem is they'd need an actual drive-by noise limit and I can't find any evidence that there is one anywhere. I'm actually all for restricting noise limits to a point, but it's how it is done and what the limits actually are that seems to lack definition. There is little that is more annoying than overly loud car or bike. Bikes seem to be the worst offenders though.

Sprintex is outdated and was the first SC setup for this car. Has great mid-range but not so hot at the top end. It does whine pretty well though. The water/air intercooler is fairly limited in it's capacity though. Cosworth don't do the kit anymore, but Harrop is pretty similar. Doesn't really whine though. HKS is my favourite from a driving perspective but some issues over reliablity potentially and expensive parts may put you off.

I think you can improve it a lot if you want to spend £300 on DBA discs and expensive pads, but they'll never work at the level of AP's and the like. I've had my AP 4 pots on for a good 20K miles now and they are hardly worn. Cheaper replacement pads and all that really helps too.
I always used stock discs and aftermarket pads before. They were okay and worked well enough, but I was often at their limits. The problem comes when the pads start getting a bit thin, so you need to change them sooner.
A BBK is arguably the best mod you can do if you like your track work.

Not many decat pipes are resonated. I have one from Mike at TD which is a double resonated decat pipe. It's not that expensive to buy new really at £240.

I'm sure if you put track specific pads in just for the track then they'll manage, well just about. But really who wants to mess around doing that? I found aftermarket pads did improve braking but not by a huge amount and I even struggled on one lap of a sprint, though you have to brake very hard indeed. I only do short sessions on track anyway of ten minutes or so, but I was finding my brakes were the limiting factor.
Fitting the AP kit completely solves that issue and gives you complete confidence because they are consistent lap after lap. It's a no brainer going for the AP kit on the front if you do a fair bit of track work or hit Alpine passes on the downhill hard.

Nobody realistically will have them as they weren't fitted to UK cars. You can order them online or from Toyota though.
