Steve's right, there is no oil pressure sensor as standard, just an "It's too late" pressure switch, if that come's on it's already knackered! Alec
-
Now we know where the term pug-ugly came from
-
If the oil was low at high revs then it makes itself apparent quite quickly, see what my Celica sounded like here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MiGmvw9DcE The oil warning light didn't come on until after the nasty noise! Does anyone know if there's a magnet in the sump? If so that could be checked I presume that you didn't get a engine warning light (CEL) ? Alec

GrimmSpeed Machined Matte Silver Oil Cap
keelerad replied to GT86-Ian's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Can I suggest that when you fit it keep it at a jaunty angle I tightened mine to get it straight (OCD) and once the engine was warm it was a bastard to undo when trying to top up the oil I reckon I'm going through a litre every 4-5000 miles (I've used a 5 litre bottle in 24k) Drive it like you stole it ! -
Don't diss the slippy slideys , they worked OK for Lauren at Blyton 1:16 and Paul 1:18, even I managed a 1:22 on a completely shot set and carrying 45kg of extra Primacy around my midriff Alec

Thoughts on all the Muslim happenings?

All you have to do is vote with your feet, I'm sure there will be somewhere offering Homer friendly breakfasts nearby I have no interest in religion, but am worried about Daily Mail/UKIP scare stories stirring up racial hatred Alec -
I did have the same name on both sites and would happily have posted as me on there if they hadn't banned me. Rob please don't close any threads on here, if people want a place to discuss stuff, it's not right for anyone else to decide what can or can't be discussed, if the title is clear if people don't want to read it they don't have to If a post in a thread is threatening/abusive then it should be deleted but please avoid the thought police mentality on here Steve, don't take it personally, I just like trying to stimulate open discussions and hate little secrets being kept only to those in the know, I put a lot of work into Dan's Forum (2744 posts? numerous pics reports and vids) and was a bit miffed at being lobbed off for daring to have an opinion that differed from Dan's. He's now done what we all expected and realised the asset that we all helped create. I have said many times that I don't mind him making money from it, I make mine from stuff I do on computers as well, its just it would have been better to just admit he didn't want to make it into a club but was just offering a free forum for people to use But hey, its caused us to have to set up this site where we are working to a different agenda and we are happy for members of Dan's forum to be on both and come to our events as well This is my own personal opinion and not that of any organisation, I just like to say what I think Alec
-
oooh, shall i lock the thread then ? I'm afraid that I'm a believer in free speech and like a bit of a wind up, its not personal, If Dan made some money out of it good luck to him. Its the secrecy and prevention of a free and open discussion that I don't like. As for using a pseudonym I didn't have a lot of choice there as my original account got banned I get on well with a lot of the guys on the other forum and I don't like stuff being hidden from them, ask anyone that I used to work with at Marconi, I don't like people trying to keep things secret that effect others, these things should be talked about Alec (freedom of speech for all !) basically I have real issues with banning people and censorship, if it's personal abuse then possibly/probably, but not where its just a point of view you don't agree with, you put up your own view and let the reader decide
-
Gets a bit difficult to convince your bosses to sponsor a race series and then add "Oh and can you pay for a car for me to drive in it as well then", think Rich might have been on a sticky wicket there I'm just glad RRG could put the money in when Toyota UK dropped out, else the costs to all of us who want to take part would have had to go up Alec
-
Would you have wanted the release of the car to have been delayed to add this change ? (once the design is decided on for production any changes cause significant delays) There are bound to be little cosmetic improvements that come out on later models, I'm pleased that they came up with a bolt on solution that could easily be added to existing cars rather than a redesign of the center console in next years model Anyway you cheated and didn't cut out the paper template and fit it yourself (much like I didn't fit my reversing camera) Alec
-
Yep thats the one I got see here http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/topic/781-29th-september-2012-space-saver-spare/?hl=space+saver Watch out for later Imprezza wheels as some are 114 pcd rather than 100 Alec

OK just got my car back from RRG Macc after it's 20k service (lovely and clean but a drive to Nottingham across the Peaks tomorrow will put paid to that ) Well apparently in the last 10000 miles I have hammered the front pads and they are now about 75% gone and rather just replace them with stock I was wondering if anyone has tried any after market pads for an equivalent price ? Alec

Saw this last night as it was on after top gear, used to go to Arena Essex with my Dad back in the 70's and it brought back memories http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03ywxjs/Fast_and_Fearless_Britains_Banger_Racers_Episode_2/ Death Destruction Derby, last car still moving wins, used to end up with the last 2 left deliberately charging each other, reversing back and charging again, like some sort of Mechanical Jousting tournament Alec

Its not that bumpy, just looks worse as it was filmed with a Nexus7 on a headrest mount facing forward, the thing was bouncing all over the place Alec
