keelerad posted a topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
My car's having a first Birthday party this Saturday at 3 pm in Macclesfield (Actually the Wife is having a party anyway but as it happens to be on the first anniversary of picking up the car....) If anyone wants to pop in, PM me for my address, note this is not just a GT86 event, there will be normal(?) people there as wellAlec -

Off to this today, got 2 grumpy sons not wanting to go (12 & 13) hopefully they'll get it when they get thereAlec
-
Well the boys got grumpier as the day went on, don't think we'll bother taking them to any music only festivals as they just don't seem to enjoy listening to live music that they don't know (youth of today eh!)The event itself was very well organised, very small waits getting in and out of carpark which was situated outside circuit about a 10 mins walk. The track stuff was really more display than competition, but some were giving it some in a very wide range of vehicles (hypercars, astons, lambos, matras, F1 cars, Le Mans cars, Rally, funnies all in groups of 7), weather was really good, had some good Air displays as wellThis was the only 86 I saw on the Cooper tyres standThis where the car clubs were, in the car park/paddock just behind the pits, 7 cars each club, I was gutted we weren't thereSome of the 7 QuattrosKangaroo Kid and Lady VolunteersVulcanThe stagemore pictures here http://cars.uk.msn.com/features/chris-evans%E2%80%99-carfest-north-in-pictures

I think the Sub is designed to fit a full size spare? Keethos did you look into this? Can't remember what year, just watch out as there are a few that have 114 PCD holes rather than 100 and there are some where the wheel has plates welded on that foul the calipers. Find a friendly breakers, take your jack and try it on the front Alec

As it was getting colder started to get worried about my first RWD (car) winter Decided I wanted a second set of rims to put Winter rubber on as I wanted 16" for greater choice and cheaper and I didn't want to risk my decent OEM alloys Managed to find a set of ex-Imprezza 16" for £38 on e-bay (that's for all 4!) see here for other possibilities http://www.wheelfitment.eu/car/Toyota/GT%2086%20(2012%20-%20)/ or click image below for link Went to Liverpool to get them and could fit them all in the car (checked the neighbourhood for a Scoobie up on bricks but no sign) Got them home and tried them to make sure they cleared the front calipers and steering rods OEM's 17" diameter 7" wide 48mm offset, 5 studs 100mm PCD (see http://www.alloyguide.com/pcd.php if you don't know what PCD or offset are) Cheapies, 16" same width, 5mm more offset, but as I was going down 10 mm in width (205 rather than 215) not a worry. Aspect ratio up from 45 to 55 to adjust for the smaller 16" rim and give just about the same rolling diameter. For checking the numbers use this site http://www.willtheyfit.com/ Same hub centres Just needed some tyres then, got these Avon Ice Tourings all 4 fitted for just over £300 from Tyrz in Bollington It's the little mountain symbol you're after, that's the real winter tyre certification mark rather than all seasons All done, I'd bought some bags for storing the OEM's and they all fitted in the car, Final touch was some stickers I had made to cover up the Subaru on the centre caps
