Wahey! We're gonna have a 'yellow peril' at the meet....!!! Spec K

I'll never forget how happy I was when I saw my missus walking down the aisle towards me....... My heart was beating fast and the excitement was unbearable. It seemed to take an age but eventually there she was, standing beside me. I gave her a loving smile and said... " Get that trolley over here, love. They're doing 18 cans of Black Label for the price of 12.." Spec K

Yep.. I'm a sucker for a sob story.... (Nick - you coming to Grasshopper on Saturday?) Spec K

Nice..... (I'll bet it doesn't have an auto option..) Spec K

That's why we chose it, Ian.... Spec K

Great stuff! Good to see another Aero on the Forum, and in white it looks real good (although this one's owned, not blagged off the guv'nor... eh, Rich? ) Spec K

Hi Eleanor, welcome to the one true world.... Not sure how to answer your question.... the GT86 with 200bhp should undoubtedly be nippier than an MR2 and its handling is infinitely preferable, as it doesn't wag its chassis... it could also be that you are getting used to its power/torque curve... We're up your way at the end of April - Blyton Park Sprint - so if you get a chance wander up to introduce yourself and get some personal feedback.. we're a friendly, male-chauvinist-pig brigade, ruled over by Faith and her Amazon buddies... you'll fit in beautifully, I'm sure... Nigel - it was even worse as a spectator ! The most popular place in the paddock was Maz's marquee... many thanks to Maz for bringing it and his helpers for keeping it groundside in the wind.. Rich - car looked good and Paula as usual looked better.. Spec K

A blinding performance, Mike ! You were, I think, the only car to get below two minutes on an 'orribly wet and blowy track which saw everyone else slipping and sliding all over the place.. you looked particularly neat, you were driving superbly.. .... so Lauren got the 'Hard Charger', did she? Well done, Lauren... your off was spectacular looking, they say a mudpack is good for the complexion... It's a great shame you won't be a Blyton, Mike, but we'll have a go at yer at Woodbridge! Spec K

Welcome JJJ..... yep, a good sound is normally a priority... ...then what?... wheels? Spec K

Well done Lauren, publishing your data. Each to his own on suspension. Pitman's and mine were specifically developed for f/i cars and I use both G-force and speed settings on track as well as road. The adjustability will be more important this year as I hope to develop the aero forces a bit more.. (1) ... I'm still looking for a pre-owned Bugatti Veyron rear air dam if anyone's got one sitting about doing nothing..? (1) ... if I ever get on track. Sob. Spec K

Mike-P = when you pick your car up from Fensport ask Adrian to give you my Tein 'logs' and manual out of my glove compartment. These settings were developed by Adrian, Colin Hoad (CAT) and Yukiko (Tein) at Millbrook. A special test day specifically for the f/i GT86 setup for Pitman and myself. Lauren is pretty savvy on the Tein adjustments and, if you ask her really nicely, she may reprogram your controller with my settings if you wish. I am hopeless at this techy stuff.. At least it will be a starter for you... Spec K

... and, more importantly, the first Cossie s/c in the Sprint Series..!! I am really looking forward to seeing the 'Cosmike Express' at Snet... You've got a bit of competition but I'm sure you'll keep your cool.. if you're collecting the car Sat morning I'd recommend you spend a bit of time on Adrian's road course feeling the throttle over bumps, out of the bends, check your braking distances. Fortunately Snet 100 is a safe environment, just watch the left hander onto the Sprint finish straight by making sure you don't go in too fast and make sure you nail your exit line as you boot it out... (... aaargh... bites fist in frustration...) Spec K

I'm applying for number 83 Soixante-neuf plus VAT.... Spec K

A lot of advice, much of it from people who 'track' as well as 'road'. Cap'n - you want 'wet weather' grip, yes? I have driven on the road with all of your choices, both on OEM rims and upon track rubber/wider rims Advans? - a total disaster in the wet but excellent on dry roads. These tyres coiuld cause death to novice drivers and should be banned from road use, in my opinion. I think Yokos cobbled this size/construction to fit the Japanese GT86 frenzy which followed the car's launch - they are unfit for purpose in the UK my opinion. Michelin PS3/Goodyear Eagles? As good as each other on OEM rims, the difference is negigible. If you go for the Eagles make sure you get the 'made in Germany' type, with rim protection - not the garbage made in Turkey. Contisport? In a league on their own when new - wet/dry grip is astonishing. But! - I have only used these on wide rims, not on OEM rims. I (and Lauren!) have given them serious grief on track and the wet rating has diminished so someone may give you better advice on this in regards to road use. Spec K

(..shite..) As a personal view I would value Abbey Motorsport for supercharging and Fensport for turbocharging. I have noted that the Abbey/Fensport approach to engine mapping is different. Adrian loses out because he does not have a rolling road/hub dyno but claims that on-road mapping is more realistic. Adrians approach takes time - Mark can re-flash a map and re-evaluate on his hub dyno in ten minutes, determine the results and evaluate. Adrian does the same thing but he's on the road, tweaks the base maps to your specific car and then gives it beans.. Now we also have TDI (based in Thurrock, Essex). Not GT86 proficient but look at their credentials and they are worth considering. I've been there (for a base map run on their rolling road) and I will be going back again. Spec K

Dropped my car back to Fensport at lunchtime today (Sunday). Cap'n - No doubt you have discerned from the Forum that there are two top-rated deluxe afterburners (by public acclaim) for our beloveds. You have Mark at Abbey Sport and Adrian at Fensport. As a personal rating I would value

Tweed - insist on a courtesy car! Even a grotbox eco-cringing Yaris is better than the heaving cattle boxes we call buses/trains.. if Dolce & Gabbani encapsulated our public transport body odour they could sell it as a defence weapon... ... even outer space aliens would steer clear of planet Earth.. (and I know... I am one...) Spec K (also known as XYLZZMK*&&YC from planet 0233 Epsilon Cluster - err, hello Keethos, why do we hide any more..?)

Hmm... sounds like Rich needs to have stern words with them... Toyo dealer defaulting a Milltek twice? Spec K

Rule number two, avoid Litchfield If ever a firm has promised so much and delivered so little I'd be happy to hear about it (not). Spec K

Anyone running BC Racing BR series coilovers?
Special K replied to STEVO9000's topic in Modifications
Not a panel, have a tweak for this. Cost Pitman and I a test session at Millbrook with Colin, Mark, Adrian.... Cost you a grand for the answer... Spec K -
Yes, Quball - this is a 'must follow' thread, like Nigel's... Tweed... we Gt86ers are individuals, probably more so than any other freeky group on the car Forum front.. the knowledgeable members herein can give advice based on personal experiences/desires on what we need from our hormone transplant.. (... oh - didn't the dealer tell you that, when you first sit in a demo GT86, this secret needle injects you...??) At the end of the day that's where it's at. Are your hormones track or road focussed? Is it blinging for style or blatting for ego - or a combination of both? Rims? Tyres? Brakes? Suspension? Boost? Mapping? Tattoos? Body mods? Prince Alberts? You don't win a war by winning the first battle (unless you're Lewis Hamilton last Sunday, haha..). So my suggestion would be to fine tune your ultimate needs - post them on this Forum - evaluate the replies and ask your questions - then make your buying decisions. Spec K

That's unfortunate for you, Jay - but very interesting and possibly significant.. Was it the inner CV joint which gave up on Adrian's car? Spec K -
Chris - good for you!.. pity about your colour choice but hey! someone has to keep the ginga-ninja afloat.. better than yellow-peril, buit only just, in my opinion... Just turned 60? Blurry hell - what an old fogey! Manual or auto? Integrated zimmer frame or seat boost? C'mon, admit it - you and the missus are just looking for a buzz, turning up at the local Post Office to collect your pensions in style, right? The Toyo GT86 is a car for the testorone fuelled youngster /progesteroned dolly hairdresser-midwife... it is totally unrealistic for men (or women) of mature age and sound judgement to consider such a daily drama. What on earth decided you on this rather than a Volvo S40? Volve's got brake-assist, you'll never bump the car in front when your left leg wavers a bit... and it warns you when you veer towards a parked car on the nearside.. a few squids more and it will reverse itself into a parking space! C'mon! No-one over the age of 60, in their right mind, buys a GT86.. .. ask the question on this Forum - how many over 60's own a GT86? Hrrmph. Time the young turks in this Forum threw the old fogeys out to grass.. they're way past past their sell-by date.. even the newbies... Spec K (the oldest UK owner of a GT86 is, I am told, a retired female doctor aged.. 88..)

Moderator - .. how do I disassociate myself on this Forum from raving lunatics who are bike driven? .. and who, in reasonable sanity, would avow that four cm/2 of rubber, in contact with the road surface , is preferable to 60 cm/2? .. and who, in this Forum, feelsthat perverse two-wheel 'subject' is relevant to the "GT85 Drivers Club" Begone, foul beast.. <..kill thread.. bloody perverts..> Spec K
