Will...... shocked, totally shocked... are you sure a ditch didn't jump out at you..? Bloody repairers, with one notable exception they don't know a salvageable Toyobaru from a pigs arse... they are so averse because they've got no knowledge of repairing them and they're sh*t scared you'll bash 'em afterwards for shoddy work... Woohoo...! a GTR hmm? That's a hairy lump of metal, mistah... What after that? - a Radical like Chris (TSS)? This is a great shame - you were definitely getting your confidence back and well into the hang of things (top student at CAT, right?). If you disappear off the GT86 org scene I shall come back and haunt you!! and if you don't turn up at JAE I shall nick the hub caps off your Fard Farcus ST... Spec K

Steve - yes, you can pay and turn up at a TSS round. All the details are on the TSS website. It's £129 (I think) plus you will need an IOPD 'license' - I think that's a fiver. You will need to buy your 'competition plates' for either side of the car with your number (a tenner, I believe..) and wear the series 'sponsor' decals - RRG, Fensport, Blitz, Superpro, Toyota, all of which are available free from Javelin either beforehand or on the day. You need to 'yellow tape' a battery lead before scrutineering (I've got tape in my toolbox, don't buy any) and it is wise to attach your towing eye (in your Toyo toolkit) to the front socket. Spec K

I am removing my Hayward & Scott 2.5" system to make way for a more turbo-compatible setup. This system was custom built in stainless steel and includes overpipe, 200cel high flow cat, unresonated with mid silencer and twin rear box silencers. (There is also a spare unsilenced mid pipe which was a bit too loud for my neighbours.. well, I think I've still got it..) Please note - this fits the standard manifold but does not need the manifold cats to comply with the MOT exhaust emissions, the secondary cat does the job. Performs at 84db at Sprint/track and is well known for its distinctive sound. (I cannot post a sound clip - with turbo manifold etc. the sound is different, with a Scooby 'burble' which you wont get from std,. manifold..) Despite this being custom built for an auto box I am told it will still fit without problem on a manual. Cost me in excess of £1,000. Will accept £400, buyer sorts out transport from Fensport (or could ask them to fit it !!). Available after July 07. Spec K

Hmmm...... ... I am in two minds whether to fit my Rota 9"/AD08's for the 'drifting'.... burn them out rather than my Pilot Sport 3's, then flog the rims as is.... Spec K

Text from my grandson - < Our teacher asked what my favourite animal was, and I said "fried chicken" She said I wasn't funny but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else laughed. Grandad, you told me to always tell the truth. I did. Fried chicken is my favourite animal. I told Dad what happened and he reckons that my teacher is probably a member of the RSPCA. He said they love animals very much. I do too. Especially chicken, pork and beef. Anyway, my teacher sent me to the Headmasters Office. I told him what happened and he laughed too. Then told me not to do it again.. Next day in class my teacher asked me what my favourite LIVE animal was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, so I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me back to the Headmaster's Office. He laughed, and told me not to do it again. Grandad, I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest but my teacher doesn't like it when I am. Today my teacher asked me to tell her what famous person I admired most. I told her "Colonel Sanders" Guess where the f**k I am now... > Spec K

I am inclined to agree with Steve - Toyo are unlikely to offer an uprated version globally , as it would impact their huge worldwide aftermarket appeal. (Japan, Australia, USA..) They might be tempted to try something in Europe, however.. (It would be good if we could get the 'basic' version, as offered elsewhere, for less than £20grand.. but it ain't gonna happen, I fear..) I am perplexed... What is so desirable in having oem body goodies bolted on? Rich has demonstrated previously that his forte is to 'personalise' - his penchant for large upstanding bits is well documented and photographed - so why go for the Aero kit? Why be the same as every other TRD on the road? (well, not 'every other' - there will probably only be a handful sold in the UK, all the more reason to do your own thing) Scene... not herd... Spec K

It was significant to get professional feedback on Pitman's car when compared to mine (Millbrook). Wholly focussed on handling.. Mindful that we are virtually identical except for manual/auto transmissions (both running the Tein EDFC suspension system) - his is more 'pointy' than mine.... the reasons for this were identified and, with a new 'tweaky' suspension modification which we both will be trying, I hope that these will be incorporated on my car shortly. His car is a thoroughbred stallion compared to my gelding... for out-and-out 10/10ths trackday his car would be faster than mine, as you would expect from a manual vs auto, if for no other reason. But at the expense of slightly more forgiving and predictable settings... ... both use the standard Fensport 'fast road' static settings, Jordan. But, as Lauren says, it is very much a starting point - these cars are very easy to 'tune' to personal choice when it comes to characteristics.. and no doubt Mark at Abbey has his own thoughts on what suits the s/c cars.. Hi There was a really good response to the original 'novice day' that we organised with MSV at Snetterton earlier this year. We have now grown, with new 'members' to the Drivers Club and I don't think the idea has lost any of its appeal - to try your car, under strictly controlled safety criteria and with tuition from instructors on hand - to feel the true potential of your Toyobaru without a silly 70mph upper limit, Gatso's, sneaky barsteward cops in laybys (hrrmph!) and develop yourself as a driver. As we grow, as a group dedicated to 'activity', not 'actipolish', it is obvious (to me) that a Snet 'novice day' as the only source of this facility is not working. Yes, it's good for some of us southerners in the east but it's a pain for many of you.. for many of you it is a 4-5 hour drive, means an overnight in a tent/hotel and - more importantly - you cannot invite your family/friends. So - at which circuits would you like me to try and organise this? And please bear in mind - if there's 12 of you, who demand (say) Oulton Park for a 30 min closed Club session a week before a BTCC round I'm not only without influence - I'm without gonads.. I will try but I'm not Bernie.. (If I get minimal response to this thread I will assume it's not of interest and I (me) will drop the idea - if the Forum directors wish to resurrect the concept later that is fine by me..) Spec K

Sat 9th 11.00am is when we're meeting up with Suggestable Sarah at Grasshopper... what are we doing on 7th? Spec K

So... Mallory is quite central, as is Donington... Oulton for northies ? What about us southies? Brands Indy circuit? or is it too twee? What I would try and do is engage with an existing trackday organiser to give us up to four 20min sessions on track. I reckon there would have to be at least 8 cars at each event to make it viable... doesn't stop drivers doing more than one venue, of course.. This does not detract from ideas being looked at presently for an 'exclusive' Toyobaru day - I think the Board have this on thier Agenda.. I'll start making noises... but it will need a bit more response if it is going to work.. Spec K

Well, a load of us are meeting up at the Grasshopper, Westerham, next Saturday morning 11.00am. Saying tata to Sarah, who's moving on... why not roll along and say hi? Spec K

Pshaw! The 'Nurburgring' is shunned by true engineers... it has nothing to offer. It is merely a 'piccy/bling' opportunity. I spent five hours with a proper chassis engineer yesterday. Accompanied by a true 'race car driver'. With another f/i GT86 owner. On circuits (plural) designed to evaluate perfomance, not give piccy opportunites. The results are Spec K
