I fitted mine yesterday - Matador 225/45/17 on my OEM rims (I need Eibach hubcentric spacers to clear my K-Sport brakes with OEM rims, works just fine..). £125 each incl. balancing/fitting. I'm starting at 32psi all round... may drop this to 28-30psi once the tyres are run in... and soften up all my shocks. It's not really cold enough to use them darn sarf yet but I was impressed with their performance through damp/standing water yesterday. Very, very stable - they obviously clear water very quickly, hope they work as well on snow/ice.. Spec K

Well done, Alec! I've tried one, seems to work. I'll bet Lauren is green with envy... I really do want to go there again, when it's warm and dry and my brakes work properly, as they now do... Only another 87 pix to post.... Spec K

Does this work? (Eua Rouge... yummy!) http://www.flickr.com/photos/109539058@N03/11006031305/ No you copied the link rather than the BBCode, check above step 3 and in step 4 make sure you have BBCode rather than HTML selected -

Ahh.... thanks, Alec, I thought when it said 'browse' it would upload to the Forum.. This is all new to me... I thought a coilover was a male contraceptive device until I read differently on here... Spec K

Err.... the 'rules' do not stipulate that all six cylinders need to be at 60 degrees...a radial engine meets the specification.. but I am now giving away far too much information so I must kill you and everyone who reads this post... .... if you read the following line you are beyond redemption... (I've warned you.... ) (.. you've been told....) (.... are you seriously, seriously, gonna risk it?...) http:/www. arkznncb4.zen.info/for$lie_kylieminogue_yum

Easy peasy to turn a flat four into a flat six... Spec K

Hmm.... FA20 is a bit 'old hat', isn't it? Or mebbe they used some of the gasflow analysis to redesign our combustion cylinders..? (Conjecture... 1.6l turbo sounds remarkably like a plan for the one true formula.... do you think this might be a first step by Toyobaru..?) Spec K

I visited my local dealer today. Despite the Matador website not listing the 225/45/17 winter tyre he assures me they are made and he'll have them there to fit for me tomorrow morning. (Nokians are rarer than rocking-horse sh*t, as they are in short supply, allegedly..) I probably won't fit the winters until next week - they are going on my OEM rims which, like Speedy's, have argued with kerbs, roundabouts and poles. ( Poles? .... and the occasional Romanian, possibly ..). Be interesting, as we have to fit the hubcentric spacers at the same time to allow brake clearance.. not tried that yet... (Rob - how do I get the system to 'ping' me a PM when someone's sent me a message via the Forum?) Spec K

Will, I'm worried by the 'My Tyres' website, as they state that the tyres they sell 'as new' may be up to two years old! That, I'm afraid, has put me right off them.. My local guy (LFA uses them as well) has offered me 'Matador' winter tyres (made by Continental) for a GT86 ex stock at £125 fitted. Which is a mystery, as I can't see a 17" tyre on their list - mebbe their UK website is out of date - I'll go and have a look at them tomorrow. Spec K

I can get the Nokian WR D3's in 225/50/17 aspect - won't make a lot of difference compared to 225/45/17 aspect, will it? Spec K

I'm using Millers Nanotech 0W30W. Available from Fensport and from Abbey Motorsport, not cheap, I think it's about £75 for 5litres, but being turbo'd I think it's well worth it.. I, too , take spare oil with me to trackdays. I also take a 2litre milk bottle filled with tapwater, spare brake fluid, windscreen cleaner, roll of kitchen paper and a chamois leather. Don't forget - if you're doing a trackday you will need to fit the towing eye (in the boot) to the front - remove the front round lid carefully with a screwdriver, break the security tag and store safely for refitting. I prefer it on the drivers side and I've bought a second towing eye for the rear (Toyota, about £14) Most essential tool -for me- is an accurate tyre guage - I run Goodyear F1 Eagles at 28psi cold (32psi hot), same for my Yokohama ADO8's. If you run the normal Michelin tyres you won't go far wrong with the std pressures - 35psi hot (about 31psi cold). I've tried them all down to 28psi hot. Spec K
