85 grand.... zero road fund tax, no fuel duty plus VAT, exempted from Congestion Charges... it's a Chancellor's nighmare.. I like it!Spec K

I have got a BRZ rubber mat for the boot - no longer fits mine as I've got rear tower bracing - anyone interested? Can't remember what it cost me - it's gotta be worth a tenner..I can bring it with me to Abbey this morning.. or to RRG Macc on Monday... first come first served..Spec K

Welcome Loco. You can get the centre console armrest from a Toyo dealer - one of the best accessories I've bought. Oh, apart from the brakes, suspension, bracing, turbo, exhaust, wheels and tyres of course.. .... not long now, guys 'n gals.... hope to collect from RRC on Tuesday... then it's Spa on 9th November !! Woo hoo..... :pSpec K

I'll bet you're sorry to see it go, Rich.... still, you'll learn what a proper GT86 goes like when you road test mine next week... (Note - there are two 'adjusters' on the rear Konis which stay in place permanently. Re-set the shocks by assessing lock-to-lock and set at half way clockwise on rears, then use a rear adjuster to set 2/3rds - 3/4trs clockwise on fronts.) Spec K

Paddy was doing okay...Bit of diy.. painting/decorating.. had a bit of a 'thing' going, as he watered down the emulsion and finishing paint.. reduced his quoted costs and he was getting work..Then, he got the big one.. largest building in the village, the Church and Manse.. he got it! Cheapest of the lot.. har! Set up his tower scaffold and worked.. bit of sandpaper. tosh of watered-down undercoat..On the third day a sudden great big black cloud appeared over the Church... huge clap of thunder.. bolt of lightning.. threw him off his perch and he fell to the ground, as his paint (watered down with turpentine) was washed off the whole building by the torrential rain that followed..... Paddy knew - this was a sign from God.. he struggled to his knees and declared "God! I've done wrong to your house.. I'm a sinner.. what can I do to make amends?"And this booming voice from the heavens replied...(...are you ready for this..?)" REPAINT! REPAINT! AND THIN NO MORE..!"Spec K

Rob - it was not a 'race'. I was 'fighting the clock' in a sprint... not other competitors.. if there'd been more cars with me I wouldn't have crunched..Difference is that you don't 'time' on a trackday - which qualifies trackday insurance - whereas on TSS it's timed. And you will never be a better, more competent driver by trying to develop your car control/skills on UK roads. My opinion..Spec K

Interesting - Lauren, can you 'point' to some definitive stuff on this?I'm pissed off.. applied to a firm called "Competive Car Insurance" (or similar) for trackday cover for Spa. Seems like all the other so-called 'trackday specialists' are only interested in UK tracks... including Ollie at Sky.. I went to CCI because 'Book-A-Track' says they'd cover it..CCI (or whatever they're called) can't be bothered to respond to my request. And I did it by fax! None of your 'email' ether. So they can't claim they never received it - I've got the cover sheet confirming fax delivery.Does my head in. Promise the earth and deliver... zilch.Spec K

Sound advice if you're an insulated lump of lard..(..this post is not serious, either..)Spec k

My car was on the chassis jig just waiting for the new crossmember which arrived on Wednesday, so I'm told. The bodyshop are aiming to have everything finished within two weeks when the car will be shipped back to RRG's workshop for the final assembly, including the new intercooler, turbo pipe and uprated Koyo raidator which have arrived up there from Fensport. I don't think I'll be ready for TSS Snetterton... but I'm sure as hell gonna be ready for Spa...Spec K

Keethos, it cannot be a permanent situation... it would be a scandal if it was..Spec K

My 200cel hfc (from Hayward & Scott, German, cost £500) met the MOT emissions test on my car... but that was before t/charging and I haven't had a chance to re-rest it since..Spec K

Not sure a hybrid is the way to go... the Yaris Hybrid I'm driving at the moment wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding and, being totally silent up to 20mph, is a definite killing machine for wayward pedestrians.. mind you, 57mpg is a big bonus... Spec K

Hi Martin.Err, what's a 'Supra' .... oh ,just found it in the 'Anatomical Register', I think ..."... toyotis supravulgaris... an ancient beast of immense power but with little dexterity... short front holding capability, known to lose control due to foreward grasp incapacity ...immense power to rear quarters but less than dextrous due to overpowered heart muscle without commensurate lower limb development.. known to be manipulated, with a modicum of success, by the higher neanderthal man.."Is that the one..? :lover: (yeah - pics pls!)Spec K

Yes - welcome Mark.. Spec K

Welcome TDU! Good to see another 'auto' petrolhead in the Club...Are you gonna track it? There's quite a few of us who do.. if you're up for it think about the 'Toyota Sprint Series'. And a few of us are doing Spa on 9th November.. also Lydden BHP Festival in May next year...Spec K

Mebbe Lauren should have headed for the border there to avoid the fine... three countries in minutes is enough to fool most coppers... Spec K

I am finding the Drivers Club a waste of time.... five months at an average of £50 a week and not one penny back.... shame it's the best petrol for my car or I'd change.. Spec K

GT86 - I use it frequently as well but couldn't identify that particular junction.. is it near Huntingdon ?Spec K

. Much as I would like a proper aerodynamic assist on the rear I am always concerned about the mounts. Without some decent bracing to spread the downforce it will flatten the bootlid....well, that's my theory, anyway.. Spec K

No, not rebuilt yet... RRG are still waiting for parts to arrive. I'm afraid you will have to curb your enthusiasm for a turbo test drive a little longer, Ed... :+:Spec K

Change to Firefox as my browser sorted my problem...Spec K

Hmmm.... I'm up for a trip... but it needs another focus - something that will engage the interest and enthusiasm of petrolhead nutters but not necessarily whizzing around a track every day...Okay, a little idea that comes from 'memory lane' ... how's about a 5-day round trip to include Austria? Nothing really special ..... except a trip down the Igls Olympic Bobsleigh run at proper speeds... doesn't need snow..(I'll bring spare diapers for you...it's a 5-man bob with three 'guests' on board and it times at less than 1 second outside the Olympic record... hits 4G in the bends, forces your eyeballs out ... not for pussies..)Spec K
