Water Methanol Injection discussion
GT86Jay replied to CHOSENMAN007's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Possibly too cool. So what's the temperature of your engine block? That's kept at a steady 90c from the thermostat and coolant surely? I thought that was the point of the Cosworth thermostat - to reduce the temp with their thermostat... -

Brake pads cheap - fair enough. but i'd rather not put my car through a wall due to not slowing down on the end of a long straight. -

Slow down for half a lap and have a cool off period. I'm sure brakes would be an issue before serious knock?.... None of us are running a serious full blown track car. We can afford half a lap cool off. Other issues will be present before serious knock if you're pushing that hard on track. -

But have you ever experience knock or ignition timing issues without meth? I doubt you'd loose 15bhp just because you're running a little hotter. -

Data and evidence backup? I should think part of it is to do with the ease of install. Sprintex SC would be far easier to inject before rather than after per cylinder. -

Pre charger is better because that's what you've got. -
Goodyear Eagle F1s or Michelin Pilot Sport 3 seem to be popular for grip. I've just opted for Eagle F1s as they're less noisy and have better fuel economy.

Interesting. Toyota UK wouldn't pay for my TRD kit to come into the country Pre-painted Red as there's no Red TRDs in the UK. They've been available in Japan for a while! Always wanted the Red TRD but never been able to order. I wonder if its a single car they had at Headquarters for show? Can you order more than one Richard?
-
Richard. You know you want a Red TRD! I just hope this 'Red TRD' you speak of isn't the one you're currently building in your workshop! Although the Custom leather would be nice! Does this also mean Red TRDs are available to order in the UK? Edit: - And you should wait for the Aero kit! So that I can be the first Genuine Red TRD body kit.

Fensport GT86 Street Turbo Auto for sale
GT86Jay replied to Fensport's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
He'll have to sell it eventually. Toyota won't let him run that demo for ever. And if they put to many miles on it they're going to make a big loss on it!- 12 replies

Awesome! Shame I was up in Scotland last weekend climbing Ben Nevis. Stopped off through Glen Coe too. Lovely roads up there! Need to take my GT86 back up there some time to enjoy them!

I know it had some Nurburgring Testing! How much of this was for improvement / aero.. who knows?

I had similar with my Performance Friction pads and even teh Brembo BBK Pads. Initial bite was good but then just felt like had to stomp on the pedal to really get braking power. But... Once i'd taken it on a hard session around Snetterton they were insane! I think they just need a bl**dy good running in and bedding process! Could not believe the difference a good thrash round Snett made. Probably got them super hot / let them cool 3 - 4 times over 3 hours. Totally difference brakes! I'd just go and thrash them for a bit. I'd read to bed them in slowly and let them adjust in there own time. But i've now had two sets of pads which actually worked much better after a good temperature cycle!

Ahh mate! Shame. Hopefully nothing to major! And because it's a far end pretty much all their fault. Easy claim hopefully!
