  1. Some of you may know that i’ve been working on a little something for the Toyota Touch (& Go) head unit. I’ve now successfully managed to get it all working and set up perfectly to my liking. After many hours of fiddling and tweaking with wires I’ve got it working. Spent hours fiddling, went through 3 methods and 4 pcs! Blew a couple of fuses, and broke my reverse camera cable in the process, but now have a fully integrated Telemetry data input into the head unit. This makes use of a hidden input on the Toyota touch which isn't enabled by default. The ‘VTR’ Input, which is basically a video composite RCA input. So this is what i’ve done and now have running…. Integrated 3 RCA panel inputs into my glove box along with a 12v ignition power supply…. A Mini Android PC in the glove box to input into the head unit. This Android pc will be replaced with a far smaller one which I am still waiting to arrive. I’ve used this one for testing as it is available in the UK. The one that’s coming from China is smaller, lighter and much cheaper. But takes several weeks to get here it would seem. I’d already tried another one from China but because of the android version it would not run Bluetooth or communicate with the car. I’ve got a little more tweaking to do with the Android box to make it more streamline but the PC now boots up, and opens up the Torque App into a dashboard automatically. Giving full engine telemetry on the screen. Including Oil Temp and Boost Pressure (If FI) along with any other data that is available from the GT86 ECU. And there is a lot! The data can be in the form of dials, graphs or numbers. Many of you know the Android Torque Pro app so anything you can do that, can pretty much be outputted to the head unit now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzwS9bIv97A Sorry for the poor video, this was done using my iPhone wedged in the passenger head rest late at night. But gives a general idea. And because it is technically just an android PC anything else you can do on android can also be done on the head unit. Angry Birds, Browser, films, music, pictures etc. This is still early development and I plan to keep on working on it to make it as possible and integrated as possible. The limitation at the moment are…. Only form of input is via Keyboard or Mouse. Slow boot-up time, I am promising settings and removing unwanted start up services to speed up boot. Only audio input is via the Front Jack Input or red and white RCA input. Audio can be played using the android pc, or inputted into the front jack from iPhone or iPod etc. But when in the ‘VTR’ Source you can’t use Bluetooth or iPod connection. And you can’t have the telemetry showing whilst listening to the radio etc. But I am working on a method so that apple users will hopefully be able to ‘air play’ to the android pc via WiFi or Bluetooth. I have this half working. Small text is difficult to read due to the 480p resolution. But setting all text to large is fine, and once in the torque app it’s not a problem. The install process is very fiddly and complicated. But I will hopefully be making some wiring looms which allow an effective ‘plug and play’ solution. I will also be putting together an install guide for those who want to attempt it themselves. I need to tidy my install up, get some decent pictures and then i’ll get together a guide. Currently the software requires a bit of tweaking and setting up to work smoothly. But again i’ll add this all into the guide.

  3. Here's a few images of the Brembo STI kit fitted on my GT86. This is the front kit of the 2005+ Subaru Impreza STI. It's a straight forward bolt on job. (Almost) You have to swap the bleeders from top to bottom which is a real pain! I had to get a machine shop to ease them out with heat and lots of grease. There are rumours that you can just fit these upside down on the other side. Which puts the bleeder on top. But the problem is they're differential bore callipers. Which means the pistons are different sizes top and bottom. To improve braking and pad wear. Fitting them upside down will cause problems. And also has issues with noise and brake feel. The rotors are 326mm over the 295mm stock. and under 17" wheels really fill the gap! I also fitted stainless steel brake lines. Which definitely improve brake feel and responsiveness. To finish the look off I painted the rear callipers in the same Brembo gold to match. Planning to get the rear Brembo kit to match. But it's slightly rarer as you need the 2008+ kit if you want a bolt on job rather than having to make brackets etc. So got my eye out for a good pair. Overall I am extremely pleased with this kit! The brake feel is awesome. Can feel serious stopping power and the braking is solid and smooth! I'm running Pagid Fast Road Pads in them. Haven't felt any problem with brake bias / fronts being over braked. Very very pleased and impressed with the setup! P.S - Sorry for the dirt. Haven't had time to clean it yet. My arches will never be as clean as Pitmans! But to his relief, my Brembo covers are now gone!! And will post the evidence on here later!

Brembo STi Front Brake Kit Fitted

Well it could have been as simple as cutting a neater hole and using black piping. I might have a go just to see how neat it can be done....
  5. Can we have a post of exactly what the plan is? I'm lost? Admittedly I've not been following it that closely. I can work out it's a drive out to Wales? If it is wales, that's far to far for me to go for the day.

Brembo STi Front Brake Kit Fitted

That could have been far far neater. Shame really.

    On its way

Don't think it will. I took my stock spoiler off to have a look. The holes are on the edge. Which is annoying!

What are you doing about the holes in the boot lid? I'd have bought a spoiler already if I could sort the holes out!
  9. Money received. This can be locked.
  10. 2 Nearly new Michelin Primacy HP Tyres with only 200 miles on. Stored in dry location. No cracking or perishing. Looking for £120 ONO. PM me for offers / interest. Collection from Norwich / within 25 miles of norwich. Or I can bring them to the next Meet / Event.
  11. I've got a GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition. With suction cup and mounts. Hardly used. Putting on here to see if anyone else can get some use out of it as I bought it but not used it enough to warrant keeping it. I think I've used it 3 times. 1 to test it out. 1 at Snetterton and once on the Blyton Park sprint last year. I bought the suction cup seperatly and is the Genuine GoPro One. This is the WiFi version so it can be controlled via iPhone / Andorid App. No marks or issues works perfectly. Never been used outside of the case. Also comes with.... Battery, Standard SD Card, Two backs (One wind resistant one and another fully sealed one, underwarter etc) Mounts with 3M Tape, Mount Extenders and angle connectors. Looking for £230 ono I paid £270 for the camera and an extra £25 for the suction cup. So a very good price considering how often it's been used. Don't need to sell it just putting it on here in case someone is looking for one. Seems a shame for mine to sit about doing nothing.

    Racing simulation.

Yeah, put me down. Depending on price and date.
  13. Hehe. Had an offer by someone to take the whole lot. If it doesn't happen i'll sell it to you this time
  14. Bump... This is still for sale now. Decided I am going to sell it now. Not used it for months....

People that have seen my car at events will know the wheels. Looking for £350 for the Wheels and Tyres. Tyres currently filled with Nitrogen and keep a good PSI hot and cold. I also have 2 Primacy Tyres only done 250miles. Which i'll include in the sale for an extra £100. Can be picked up from Norwich. Brembo STi Front Brake Kit Fitted

For anyone wondering if this actual brake mod works or is recommended. Looks like Subaru are playing around with it.... Mine are really bedding in well and getting better and better. The concept BRZ STI has STI Brembo Calipers fitted..... And they are the same version as the impreza sti brembos. Not a new design for the BRZ...

    Performance brake pads?

Lauren have you thought about stainless steel lines too? Huge improvement on brake response and feel. Might be worth a thought if you're changing the pads anyway? Steel lines are only around £70. And probably one of the best improvments for brake feel and response.

Brembo STi Front Brake Kit Fitted

Yeah I fitted it myself as it was pretty much unbolt the old stuff and bolt the new ones on. The only thing I didn't do was swap the bleeders and had a quick go and realised I was very quickly going to round of the nut inside! Got a local machine shop to do it with heat and the right tools for £20. Then just had help bleeding the brakes. Took about a solid 4 - 5 hours including all the brake lines, rear calliper painting all fitting and full bleeding.
