They look fine for me on my Macbook Pro. But if I shrink the window down to anything too small they go distorted. So maybe the screen size on Laurens?

If you're at Japfest, you're welcome to have a drive of my HKS V2. I felt similar with SC, felt more like a big block NA car rather than turbo boost. As Lauren says the HKS V2 just keeps building and building to the red line! its all down to personal preference on which one suits your driving style and the sort of delivery you want.

It's worth mentioning most body shops will fill the holes and repaint. I got my boot panel holes welded up, smoothed and repainted for about £170. So thats an option rather than getting a new boot panel. I did ask RRG for a new boot panel price, can't remember the exact prices but it was expensive. Although now they're part of the Primo model as standard it might be easier and cheaper to get hold of one. But don't let the stock boot lid holes put you off. They're sortable

Cosworth didn't get approval because the Supercharger sat to high and too close to the bonnet. A pedestrian impact onto the bonnet, on a stock car requires a certain distance of crumple zone to pass all the regulations. By putting the Cosworth supercharger so close to the bonnet removes this crumple zone, therefore not passing regulations out the factory. A pedestrians scull smashing into the Cosworth supercharger was considered unsafe. New version looks interesting, not sure I like the front end. And what happened to wanting to keep the car a purists drivers car and keeping all controls off the steering wheel?!

I could be up for this. Either in the 86 or my Starlet. Either way i'll come down for a meet at least if I can get the time off work and its all ok with dates etc.
-
I also have a spare stock wheel in the Factory Red Option.

Let me know if you're ever at Snetterton again. That's my local so i'll pop down and see you. Car looks very good! And I like the latest oil cooler work you've done! Good to go a different way and try these things. Nice work!

Sad the hear this news. I think you got further than anyone else ever would have! Time, money and patience! All this aside you built a great car and used it for what it was meant to be used for! Thrashing about! You proved the AVO Turbo and the Engine could take some real abuse FI on track! And I thank you for that. On the bright side I think Stans also going to really show what can be done with your engine and a Manual box! Hope you don't give up with the GT86 all together! And hope to see you at some events! You will also be more than welcome to guest drive my Starlet at the sprints as and when it suits us both. It should be a little pocket of fun hopefully.

Auto- trans. Don't be a jerk. Try SNOW mode.

A little jump on initial take off suggests the fluid isn't running at the right level so the pressure can't build up straight away. I had an auto box for a test drive once (Not a GT86) and it done this little blip forward about 10 seconds after engaging drive. Turned out it was due to fluid not being full after a service. As far as I have experienced and when I test drove an Auto it seemed pretty seamless to me. -
On my HKS V2 charger I see around 27mpg easily and can see around 32mpg on a long run with some cruise in there. Obviously on throttle and long red line pulls it uses a lot more fuel! I do notice since having the charger fitted if you go out and play it will use a fair amount of fuel! Buy for me its now a weekend toy so don't have it to worry about mpg!

installed a new head unit and indicators stopped working!
GT86Jay replied to Neil_turbo's topic in ICE/Electrical
Not true on this car. If you disconnect the speed sensor wire the Navigation won't work correctly. It uses a mixture of both. Speed signal and GPS speed. This way it helps continue the speed when the GPS loses signal, like through a tunnel and such. It's also used to disable certain features whilst moving so you can't watch video and access some apps. -

GT86Jay replied to Neil_turbo's topic in ICE/Electrical
That's an odd one, and would suggest it's unrelated. I've driven without any head unit installed before and also driven without any fuses for the head unit installed. Can't see why they would wire anything into the head unit. I know they plumb speed into the harness for Navigation. But other than that not sure. I have heard of TOM relays failing! Pretty sure they had a no questions asked warranty replacement. -
You'll get more than enough time to decide! I'd already told Toyota I was paying mine off and paying the Baloon payment in full. But they still insisted on sending me 3 letters with 3 options on it. And one final attempt was to let me carry on the finance for an extra year whilst I 'decide what I do'

There's a reason why a proper remap is £400+ and these are only £10.

How to get a great car insurance deal in 2016
GT86Jay replied to ChrisKnottIns's topic in Insurance Companies
Before I ring up and go through the long winded process. Can you insure 22y/o with Supercharger mods? -
I could be interested in everything apart from the Sprintex. If someone could commit to the sprintex we could look at doing a deal for the other bits?

GT86 Turbo Kit & BRZ Turbo Kit from Tuning Developments
GT86Jay replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Much beyond 290hp - 300bhp i'd be worried about stock engine strength to. IMO the stock fuel system is a sensible limit on the stock rods and pistons. If you're changing injectors and fuel pumps on a stock engine. You're probably going too far. -
My car developed problems about 2 and half years in of being a Daily driver. Just kept failing to start. Not enough power to crank the engine when cold. However my dealer did just change the battery under warranty to the new 65aH one. And never had a problem since. I would try another dealership if you can. If not you have every right to get them to fix the problem. If they say the battery is fine then they need to investigate what else is causing it not to start. Its under waranty if its the battery or not.

I'd be up for this. Although i've been for the last 3 years on the Saturday and its getting a bit of the same each year. So might try and go for an engineering trade day this time round to mix it up. If the club arrange a big day on the Saturday i'll follow suit with this though.
-
I might be able to make this now. To add an HKS charger to the mix. Depends what time I leave off work and if I can make the 2 hour journey after work.
-
I've been told not to wash the HKS filter! For the price i'd just replace it with a new one.
-
I had my GT86 Mapped by Fensport in NA form. As long as you remove the second cat and replace it with a front pipe you can make gains. The 2nd cat is massively restrictive on the GT86. You're never going to get massive kick in the back gains. But drivability and maybe 12hp gain is not a total waste of money! I could feel the difference between mine NA and getting back into a totally stock '86. But i'd recommend getting a decent exhaust system and air filter before mapping.

It was imported into the UK months before Toyota UK even had one. So it probably didn't have any of the UK legals to register it?
