  1. Here is the makeup of the supercharger unit itself: For anyone interested here is a photo of the Supercharger unit and the Drag reduction system that we spoke about earlier... You can see the 3rd roller wheel has a spring which when no load is on retracts to reduce load. Also here is a Dyno run of the 3 systems in place. Stock, Step1 (39mm Restrictor) and Step 2 (43mm Restrictor) I'm currently on Step1 39mm Restrictor. As you can see it doesn't affect to much low down. But actually starts to pull the hp down at about 4800rpm. My plan is to run the car in this setup for a little while, then upgrade to the 43mm restrictor. But i'm more than happy on the 39mm restrictor and the power feels good! Estimated at about 275hp currently based on the amount of Air we measured through the air box whilst mapping.
  2. Ecutek allows you to change the Throttle Maps. So you can decide how harsh or soft the throttle is. It can be done against speed / throttle sensor. So for example. 50% throttle pedal can be 100% throttle body. Or 50% throttle pedal can be 50% throttle body. Then you can say stuff like up to 30mph I want 50% pedal to be 25% throttle body. and over 30mph I want 50% throttle pedal to be 100% throttle pedal. But at the end of the day. if you slam the throttle pedal the throttle body is going to open all the way! I always feather my accelleration in. Rather than slam the throttle in. Makes for smoother driving and feels like it's putting less stress on the car. And doesn't really give any less performance feel on the road.
  3. Andrew is in Malta. Not sure of the laws and warrenty over there? The fact you have to run on terrible fuel and don't have 97RON at least is always going to be an issue!
  4. You'll find if you're on the original Toyota Map it maybe a bit rough and noticable. There has been a few map revisions from toyota to fix a couple of things regarding injectors. Rough idle is common sometimes depending on AC and Fuel! I find BP causes rough idle and the clicking sound more than V-Power. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Fit the kit, get a great map from Adrian and keep and eye on it. The EcuTek Logs will show up any knock issues or injector failings. Best bet is to speak to Adrian about it and see what he thinks. Might be worth getting a new NA map for the time being to see if that resolves anything.... You need to buy the licence anyway, and a new base map maywell be better than what you have now. But you'll need some work done on the map around ensuring its Safe on your fuel. Ignition timing etc to prevent knock.
  5. Yeah one of the reasons I went for this kit was for the feel. To me it feels like a bigger block NA car. You can feel there's boost there but don't get the sudden rush of boost. Very very nice! Yeah, I know the car you have currently. Nice car that! I will probably eventually pull out the restrictor a little bit. But for now its fast enough! I've driven a Sprintex and they're more torquey and you get much more back seat push and really feel the boost come on IMO. Both are very good kits and depends how you want to use the car. I love reving the cars our to 7k rpm. And I also love the constant rush of accelleration so the HKS won it for me.

    Lee's HKS v2 Supercharged 86

Nice work! One thing I noticed was my Outside Air temp now reads really high. So before you put the bumper back on. Relocate it to cold air flow! Mine is currently just behind the intercooler and it gets hot air blown on it it! I wonder if the traction fluid will get cool enough? And it's safe to run behind the intercooler? The air behind the intercooler is about 44 degrees on full boost. Also is the kit new? Some of your veins on the Intercooler looks bent and damaged? You'll be really impressed when you drive it! I absolutely love it!
  7. The turbo will give you a bit more low down. Adrian said this kit is very similar to their Stage 1 turbo kits. The HKS is capable of more than the spec i'm currently running. You can run a slightly bigger restrictor. Up to no restrictor depending on how much you dare run on the stock internals. I may do a couple of TSS Events. But i'll be picking and choosing carefully. I've built the car to be a quick street car and a B-road destroyer. Also turns out it's not so bad at flying past Astra VXRs out of round about's as I had a couple on the way home today! I've not dared look down at the speedo yet! But it's quick. It launches really well with my current suspension and tyre setup. I will get some official times and video soon. I'm not sure how either work that closely. I know the HKS has a drag reduction system that works quite well where when you don't have load it reduces drag on the pulley. "Reducing parasitic drag by spring loading one of the planetary wheels. "
  8. The car is absolutely fantastic! Great fun and keeps the characteristics of the NA form car! High revs are just mental! Mapping all went great. Adrian done a fantastic job with the base map and didn't require too much tweaking. Drive home was great fun. The boost just builds and builds. Quicker than I need! It basically put it up £380 for the entire year over NA form. Not to bad considering i'm 21.
  9. It's a high viscosity Oil used to lubricate the Charger. the exact use for it in the charger i'm not so sure. I'm aware it has properties when under load is increases in viscosity and when under no load goes really thin to reduce drag. It's this product.... http://www.hksusa.com/supercharger-traction-fluid-high-viscosity/
  10. Sounds like a plan! I'm currently running the 39mm restrictor. So i'll be able to open up a little more power once we're happy with the car and have time to take the restrictor out to bore it out a little bit.
  11. Pretty much what Lee said. I didn't need anything other than what was supplied. Only one mistake we've noticed is that we kept the Outside air temp in stock location and it now reads about 30c all times as it's behind the intercooler hot air! So worth taking note with that! Quick bumper off and move it will sort that. You don't need to bleed the traction fluid system. The charger comes pre-filled with fluid. So you just connect up. Fire it up for a few seconds, ensure fluid is flowing and you're good. I wouldn't want to do it without a ramp personally. But you don't need it off the ground. Once the bumper is off that's pretty much it. Now at Fensport! Mapping commencing shortly.

    Nige's Wide Body Project

Whilst the rocket bunny is mostly for bling. It'll also help cover up the insanely wide wheels that will need to go on it I imagine?

    Coil Over kits

I'm running MeisterR ZetaR Coilovers and have no problems with them. They're comfy and feel fantastic. I'll probably upgrade to either the HKS Hypermax or Tein eventually. But for value for money the Meisters are brilliant.

Lee that is super cute! Makes me want a dog!

    Lee's HKS v2 Supercharged 86

The Mishimoto possibly could. The HKS one is too tall. Also I wanted to go the fog light option for me anyway so wasn't a problem. I was concerned how much air flow i could get through the fog light. but Actually its more than enough and the cooling is very effective.

    Lee's HKS v2 Supercharged 86

Depends on the size of the cooler. I've not looked into it. I think the misimoto one is smaller and not as tall as the HKS one. So it may fit in ok. I just wouldn't rely on that. The main problem is the bumper crash structure is in the wrong place and takes up so much useable space.

    Lee's HKS v2 Supercharged 86

I've also gone for the HKS V2.. With HKS Oil Cooler. Also you'll struggle to mount the Oil Cooler along side the inter cooler because there's also the Traction fluid cooler that has to mount in there and it leaves no room! I tried mounting it up front but there's just not enough room. Its got to go in the Fog Light Area IMO.

My Charger is also going on this weekend and will be mapped on the 5th! Looking forward to it. I too fitted the Oil Cooler, my one is mounted in the right hand fog light area and removed the fog lights for the air flow. It works extremely well! Good luck with the install and hope the map all works fine. Ecutek is the way to go in the long run!

A friend of mine has one of the new Fabia VRSs with a remap and its absolutely nuts! Off the line its just insane and neck breaking! Then as you move up the rev range the boost just keeps coming! Especially through the auto box they have on there! No jolt or drop upto top speed.

    GT86 Cosworth

I've not looked into it too much but I assume it's to do with the added cost of having a custom map built from the ground up. Over tweaking Cosworths map.

    Nigel's Daily Driver.

That's pretty standard for the Fuel Pump on these cars... Search 'GT86 Crickets' in google.

It would be nice if the Blanco edition is like the Audi White. The one reason I didn't get the white was because it wasn't a true white like the Audi Cyrstal White is. Seems like they're trying to do anything to sell a few.

Most of the torque dip is to do with the Stock Manifold. Get a Manifold and it'll be greatly improved. I know when Adrian done mine the difference was incredible!
  24. Yeah I was talking about the RRG Group install in Manchester. I can't even remember there being a problem. I always reply to PMs eventually and as soon as I can. If you didn't receive a PM to a message, send it again. I never came here to try and make a fortune quick and leave people cold. As I said out of the 150+ cameras sold I've not had many PMs of bad experience. It seems to be only the last batch outside of the group buy. This is a totally different incident to the kit 18 months ago at RRG. Different kit and totally different issue. As far as I was aware the install at RRG went fine and members haven't contacted me otherwise.
  25. Hi Guys, Firstly i'd like to apologise if anyone feels let down or left in the dark here. I've not handled the whole situation very well and clearly the communication hasn't been up to scratch so i'm sorry for that. I've now sold over 151 of these camera kits. I am in no way a business or a trader and have zero experience at handling this many orders! When I done the group buy I carefully calculated it so that everyone got the best deal! I didn't want to make profit and never intended to earn any money from it. Not even from time really. Expecting only to get a few people want a kit.... I ended up with over 130 orders within a month. The problem with this is that every kit takes me about 40 minutes to put together. The harness takes a good 25 minutes to crimp, solder and connect up. I have to change the plug on the cameras so that they go through the GT86 boot gap. I can also only order a maximum of 20 cameras at once from Taiwan. and the guy in the US with the connectors can only buy what is in stock... So this becomes a huge mass production line. Which I agree has gone a bit shit and impossible to track. Especially when suppliers are sending wrong cameras and the wrong plugs all over the place! At the same time personal stuff exploded at home, I was promoted at work taking on 3 times the work load and to give an idea i've not slept in my own bed now for over 3 months! None of these are excuses, I just want to make it clear i'm not ignoring anybody just finding it almost impossible to breath and catch up with everything! From the 151 orders that I've been tracking myself on Excel I've only known so far of 5 - 6 to go wrong. If I've missed an order or someone isn't happy I'm sorry. I've only had 4 people PM me in the last month to say they've not had the kit. Which I am now following up and sorting out. One batch was d1 ue to Parcel2Go quoting me a price which I paid for then myHermes wouldn't accept so ended up sending me the entire lot back to me. And took them 8 days to do so before I knew anything was wrong. I've made no profit out of this, and cost me money in the long run now to track and order parts which have been sent to me wrong or items that wen't accounted for. All the money goes into buying the kits, customs and postage. The only money I've made is where I've had to sit for hours on end into the evenings making tedious harnesses and the profit from this is next to nothing compared to the time taken! I am now coming to the end of the last few and the kits are all finished. If you are still waiting or have a problem please PM me! I can't get onto the forums during the day and have very little time to read through the forums. And I miss posts. I have taken today off work to make the last harnesses, track and sort out the kits. Please please PM me before replying to a post... Captain Duff: - I didn't know there was a problem 18 months ago.... if you're talking about the Manchester group install. It was arranged, I travelled 6 hours, paid for a hotel out of my own pocket and everything went well. I've never had a PM from you to say otherwise? - Again please PM me! I don't always keep up with these threads. As for the other forum. I will explain what's happened there. 3 people aren't happy with the outcome. 1 guy ordered the camera kit paid deposit to commit to the a group install fitting. This payment was a deposit and a split between the members sharing expenses and my fuel cost to travel 2 hours to get there. He never turned up... He wants his deposit back. I will refund him his deposit but am making it clear that he needs to learn what a deposit is... And if he commits and shares the costs between members then he needs to stick to it. 1 is from Denmark where postage has been delayed as i'm finding another service to use. And I believe there is a genuine guy where i've missed his order. Again trying to track all this on Excel with this many orders when I've got no experience is difficult. And without people PM'ing me to say they're still waiting i've no idea. But instead of PMing me they've messaged Stu on the forum who has then blocked my account and put me on post review meaning I can't do anything really. Stupid.. Instead of them PMing me they've gone off and moaned behind my back to then get me blocked. Which I have no problem with as I don't use that forum other than to sort out the kits. But now i've been banned.... So not sure how that can be resolved. Stu doesn't want me messaging him to sort it out and I have no other way to solve it.... So I apologise for any problems, delays and lack of communication. Please PM me and I will reply today as i'm off work. Regards Jay
