Ecutek Evi Connect Bluetooth OBD Dongle. Like New, not used much. I've ended up with two of these as I bought a new car and got another one with that and already had one. Great kit and one of the best OBD readers out there, including ability to adjust live maps, setup dashboards, clear codes and far more. You don't need to have an EcuTek map to use most of the features. But if you do have map your tuner can setup the ablity to live adjust parameters. Can be used to remote tune your car too from a tuner of your choice and load maps etc. More Info on fensport website: https://www.fensport.co.uk/products/ecutek-evi-bluetooth-vehicle-interface-kit-no-programming?_pos=1&_sid=c8d08d2df&_ss=r Happy to post for cost. £180 ono EVI-BT-3_1296x.jpg.webp EVI-BT-Dash-iPad-landscape_1024x1024.jpg.webp EVI-BT-3_1296x.jpg.webp

Still radio silence for me. Doesn't look like we'll be getting product or money back. I'm amazed a company can operate ignoring customer emails, socials and orders. (or maybe they can't) Poor show.

Interesting thread.... I've not signed into this forum for a long time, but thought i'd come along to try and contact Tuning Developments via here and spotted this in the top threads... Has anyone received an order from them recently? I placed an order on their website. Got order confirmation but then nothing. Complete silence, no communication in emails or facebook and no sign of the product which is urgently needed. (Paid for the faster shipping option too) It's unlike Tuning Developments i've seen in the past 10 years or so. Reading through it looks like they're going through a location move, but thats no excuse to ignore customers who have placed orders? If they're not able to process orders, maybe turn off the website or make customers aware of delays. I hate coming online and bashing companies publicly but when trying to resolve this privately i'm getting no where....

So I might be writing this thread a little early but thought i’d make this anyway as it’s probably worth noting for some owners. It seems that the GT86 / FRS has a common fault of destroying Inner CV joints on cars which are lowered. Because you change the geo of the driveshaft / Diff when lowering the car. I'm now experiencing this. And in lots of research, forum reading and speaking to various people thought i’d collate all my findings into this post and hopefully make it easier for people to reference if they come up with the problem. It seems fairly common in the US, probably due to the large number sold and the nature of the modding community over there. It’s known as ‘The clicking’ on US forums. It starts off as a Faint clicking sound on the rear left hand side of the car under heavy acceleration. Eventually getting worse and worse until it sounds louder and clicks nearly all the time under any acceleration, deceleration and cornering. Then it will destroy itself completely. I've had my car lowered for around 35k miles now. And seems to be common on high mileage / daily cars that are seen a lot of bumps / road use. A few things I've found out and noted here: Power increase doesn't affect it, it only speeds up the process. Stock Power cars on lowered suspension still have the problem. It only ever seems to be the left hand side Toyota will replace it under Warranty. (I’ll find out if this is true on Thursday) It’s a perfect clicking sound related to wheel Speed. Only under acceleration, not cruise speed. If its started clicking, it will break! I’ll try and get a video of the sound next time I take the car out. Here are a couple of the forum posts: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1501079 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=897624 I’ll update my findings and let you know what Toyota say on Thursday. Also this isn't as a result of lending my Driveshaft to Fensport to use in their 450hp Race car at the TSS event! Because it’s the other side.

I have had issues with mine where the little rubber insert split. So even under vacuum wouldn't open. You could tell because when you revved the car you could hear the air flow on the blades making the typical pigeon fluttering noise that young lads in Mc Donalds Carpark seem to love. However it still made boost fine. HKS sorted me a new one out and was a simple fix. I can't get boost to build without driving it. What symptoms are you actually getting to suspect its got a problem?

They look awesome! Will be mega on track. As for Lowe point of the pins. Just copper grease the pins whenever they come out. Mine seem to have been fine after 3 years of abuse.

You don't really need it. It has the Stock Jack Input cables into it and some canbus data. Leave it unplugged and don't worry about it. You won't miss anything.

VVTi Might be failing. I have had this in the past. VVTi doesn't switch correctly and you lose all your cam control. Exhaust note goes horrible and tinny and rattly. No power low down and drives like shit. You can't monitor it without an ECUTek Dongle though unfortunately. The HKS V2 Kits have been known to lose drive on the shaft too. They've got a clever clutch system in which disengages at light cruise to reduce drag. If this is stuck open then it'll never be spinning the impeller. But i'd definitely check the VVTi first. When Mine failed it was awful.

Looking around at their Social Media they've been active in the last week with new products.. https://www.instagram.com/ssp_performance/ Hope you hear something soon!

I have one I'm not using. Bought all black interior and bought an auto instead of Manual by mistake. So i've got it spare. Can't remember how much it cost me though... Make me and offer....

Blue BRZ, Big Brakes, and Volk wheels, Supercharged... Thats not @LFA one is it? Although I thought he was Sprintex. I'd say the tuner was Abbey Motorsport, maybe give them a call and see if they know.

I had the Cobra un-resonated with the HKS Equal Length Catless Manifold. Berk Front pipe which was catted. It was very loud! I then put in the resonated centre section and it was much better, resonator killed a lot of noise, i'd say the most noticable change wasn't just volume, but actual note. It because a lovely deep rumble, rather than high-pitch raspy sound. It killed all the cabin drone and made it really good! You still got a lot of volume on WOT though through the rev range. But round town you can be pretty civilised. Well worth going resonated and much better sound IMO.

Prestige Keep Moving Insurance Scheme
GT86Jay replied to Tim@Prestige's topic in Insurance Companies
Just had a mysterious call back. They can now 'Match' the price online. Although it didn't include a few bits or mods. So once i'd re-added those it did go up a bit more. Seemed like a very painful process. Took about 10 minutes on hold to 'process my card payment'. -
Prestige Keep Moving Insurance Scheme
GT86Jay replied to Tim@Prestige's topic in Insurance Companies
Don't bother using the new online Quote tool. It's only a hook to get you to call them and sit on the phone for 33 minutes 28 seconds whilst they go and "run your details" and come back with a price twice as much as the initial online quote. Filled in the online quote tool with 100% accurate details. Got a price back of £100 deposit and £75 a month. Which I was happy with online, would have bought it. Put all my card details in online. Then to be told they couldn't actually setup my policy online and I would get a call from them to finish the payment. So now my card details have gone into the system somewhere and have no idea why? Waited for the call, never came. Called them this morning, ran all my same details as I put in online. Nothing different. Comes back at over £190 a month! Most expensive policy i've seen on any comparison websites! When I asked about the £75 online price, it was just kinda shrugged off and 'well because x and because y'. So pretty much waste of time and waste of a 40 minutes 0800 call from mobile! -

Tuning Developments GT86 Turbo 'TD86'
GT86Jay replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
Sounds great! I like the idea of turning boost up until you blow an engine on the dyno. But will that really prove anything? My engine blew at around 330hp. Sintered rods are a complete lottery. I know cars which have blown at 280hp and others which have safely ran 420hp for over a year. Which forged internals are you going for?- 94 replies

Bumper grill, headlight surround & indicator / fog surround
GT86Jay posted a topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Unfortunately I hit a small deer on the way up to Fensport yesterday. It's cracked the bumper (Which i'll source from RRG) and wiped some other bits out on the driver side, but am in need for a few bits that some may have laying around before I order from RRG at dealer prices. 1. Bumper grill. 2. Headlight surround - Driver Side, (the black bezel under the headlight which the bumper clips onto. 3. Headlight washer cover - Driver Side. (any colour, I can paint) 4. Fog light surround - Driver side. 5. Indicator housing and holder - Driver Side. (The one above the fog light) If anyone has any of the bits above, please do let me know and we can sort a deal if you want to sell. -
I've got the HKS Charger V2 and love it. It really depends how you drive. If you like the NA kinda power delivery where you really have to rev the car to get power then the HKS suits that. If you like big grunt low / mid torque then its not that sort of boost. HKS Charger will make as much power as you can safely run on a stock engine, and has potential for more if you ever got a forged engine. With the HKS charger you can start with the lower restrictor and work up to open up more boost. I'm based in Norwich, but if we ever end up near by you're welcome to come and take a look. It's really down to preference as Rob says there are lots of options, all typically end up around the same but the power delivery is slightly different. Just try and get as many rides in before you make a decision. If budget is at play then the HKS charger is very good value for money now!

Bumper grill, headlight surround & indicator / fog surround
GT86Jay replied to GT86Jay's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Sure, it's not really damaged. Its just cracked. Super glue and carbon skinning would be fine for it! I'm going to go for full gloss black ones now. So i'll let you know soon as it's off the car. Maybe a week or two. -
Here's my accident. Drove into a lamp post by mistake. All lovely restored and back to perfect condition by Richard at RRG. P.S - Shouldn't this be renamed to "RRG Repair Work List"

What time are people going to be there until? What time does the day run? I'm going to try pop along afternoon some time.
-
I'd recommend getting a Garage at Snetterton either way. Makes it easier getting onto the track and its a nice place to chill between sessions.
-
I'll come down mid-afternoon and say Hi. I'll bring my helmet with me if someone wants to be kind enough to take me out for some passanger laps
-
Awesome build. I've also got the Brembo STI calipers. I'd be very interested in your opinions of the rear calipers with the front brembos. I'll be at snetterton next week to spectate as its local to me.
