GT86-Ian reacted to Captain Duff in If I get another GT86....
talking of new 86's I happened to have a look on drive the deal last night to get an idea of current best dealer discounts and realised you can get a new one for a tad over £20k. Jeez I thought, that's a great price for such a fun car, and I must admit I got very tempted to buy one until I remembered I have one already

Just a handful of pics from the meet, didn't go all out taking photos of everything as the cars were a bit scattered

Great to meet everyone again yesterday & thanks to faith for organising it

GT86-Ian reacted to Lauren in Top Gear
It was okay last night. I always struggle with TG as it's aimed way too much at the proletariat for my liking rather than the car enthusiast. Even my mum watches it, which is just wrong.
I found the Russian thing not hugely interesting because I've got zero interest in hovercrafts or pushbikes or public transport.
But, the review of the Huracan was okay. It's inline with other reviews I've read (don't forget by the time TG feature a car on their programme it's been tested months ago by everyone else) and looks like it's not going to be that much fun. There wasn't really much else on last night's show that I recall.
I do quite like the roads trips that TG does to be fair, but I hate all the stupidity like making vans into hovercraft. Not cool.
Much prefer 5th Gear but I only have Freeview so I can't see it.

And as you have a set Rob you can put in Faiths lights if she has not done this already. There seems to be an equation here Faith=Car=organises meet= gets new bits =members fit them

Keith the vents are open but speaking to Dave about this he didn't think it would be an issue.
Nick Dave just needed to adjust the catch & the rubber bonnet stops, think it was fitted in about 20 minutes fits very well not seen any lifting at motorway speeds.
Nigel I'll try & get some more pictures up tomorrow for you.
Might paint the mesh black & the bonnet Orange
Thanks all glad you like it.

Looks great Ian, and was really needed with the wing sitting as high as it does (pretty much in the way of the standard light)

Awesome stuff Faith, representing....but besides you mid wifing and lecturing, you didn't mention the distances you would travel for club meets and stuff cos you're almost as hardcore as me in that sense

Thought I'd post up the link to the article I was in on the Toyota GB Blog Site. I had loads of fun when the guys came and interviewed me and took loads of photos. Had a little go in their number 2 Giallo as well B-)

GT86-Ian reacted to nickfrog in Not the most exciting news...
Never had a Toyota before the GT86, but now up to 2. My daughter's first car (she is still learning). 2013 Yaris TR 1.0.
I picked it up this morning and it's absolutely brilliant. It has the same screen thingy as the one in my car. Returned 58mpg over 40 miles (!!) and is a surprisingly good drive, albeit slow of course.
It looks a bit like a fridge but I can live with that. Mia was so happy. She is a little spoilt though...

GT86-Ian reacted to Fensport in Aftermarket Headlights Now Available
Hi Guys,
We noticed that there doesn't seem to be much available in regards to an alternative solution to the standard GT86 headlights. Styling wise, every other panel and fixing seems to be available here in the UK except for the headlights! After a bit of research we have sourced, tried and tested these lights from TopSage. TopSage have been a supplier of ours for a while and as you probably already know, we stock a lot of their interior and exterior carbon parts already. These lights are E-marked, come with built in LED indicators and daylight running lights. The 4 available styles are; Chrome http://www.fensport.co.uk/Parts/Model_108/Category_13/5021 --- Chrome w/o LED ring http://www.fensport.co.uk/Parts/Model_108/Category_13/5018 --- Black http://www.fensport.co.uk/Parts/Model_108/Category_13/5020 --- Black Chrome http://www.fensport.co.uk/Parts/Model_108/Category_13/5019 --- For more photos visit the links above Club Prices Chrome without LED ring - £452.52 inc. VAT All other styles with LED ring - £463.32 inc. VAT + Delivery. With a set of these costing a lot less than the standard lights from Toyota and looking a lot more slick, it's a no brainer! Cheers!
