  3. Mark from Abbey Motorsport has kindly organised a GT86 CAT Driving Training day at Millbrook Proving Ground to be held on Saturday 31st May 2014. (http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk/) Performance Driver ‘Track’ Day An action-packed day run by CAT Driver Training Ltd at Millbrook Proving Ground. CAT Driver Training is run by Colin and Jo Hoad. Colin used to work for a leading motor manufacturer in the UK as a Vehicle Evaluator and Driver Trainer and has gained extensive experience and qualifications in driver instruction. This includes being certificated to instruct at Millbrook. His life has been spent working with his passion: motor cars - from racing minis to the race preparation of performance cars. He has much experience of vehicles on both road and track and brings a very different approach to driver enjoyment. The day is a fast moving experience for 6 owners and their cars to introduce the secrets of performance driving. It is designed to be informative, exciting and fun. The group size is purposefully kept small so that the maximum can be obtained from the day in a highly personalised environment. There is access to the 5 unique circuits at the renowned Millbrook Proving Ground, a venue that is not normally accessible for ‘track days’ and the general public. Activities designed for the different circuits are: • Learn ‘threshold’ braking from 100+mph on the ‘Mile Straight’ • High speed driving, potentially to the maximum of your car, on the banked circuit of the ‘High Speed Circuit’ • Drive the demanding ‘Alpine Route’ circuit with its hills, and variety of corners from hairpins to long and sweeping • Take on the tight, twisty and challenging ‘Handling Circuit’ • Put a car through its paces on the wide open spaces of the ‘Steering Pad/Mile Straight Apron’ An instructor will accompany you on all the circuits during your session, and the objective is to teach you how to get the best from your car and develop your performance driving skills in a controlled environment and at a pace you are comfortable with. Short presentations in vehicle dynamics will help you to understand the relationship between driver input and vehicle balance and control. From this comes the appreciation of how to safely drive your vehicle at ‘grip limit’ within the controlled confines of a track environment. At the end of the day, your new found skills can be put to the test in a timed ‘shoot out’ around a gymkhana-style course laid out on the ‘Steering Pad/Mile Straight Apron’. This will be conducted in one of CAT Driver Training’s track prepared cars (normally a Subaru Impreza or a Caterham 7). Included in the day are: • Professional in car tuition • Access to 5 unique circuits at Millbrook Proving Ground • Lunch and refreshments during the day • Timed end of day ‘shoot out’ in one of CAT’s track prepared cars • Full emergency services on hand all day • 1 hour 40 minutes driving time with your personal instructor Performance Driver ‘Track’ Day Schedule 08:30 – 09:15 Coffee, Introduction, Licence Check, Scrutineering, Safety Briefing & Objectives of the Day 09:15 – 09:20 Drive to Circuits 09:20 – 10:20 Mile Straight 10:20 – 11:30 High Speed Circuit 11:30 – 12:45 Handling Circuit 12:45 – 13:30 Lunch 13:30 – 14:40 Alpine Route 14:40 – 15:10 Understeer/Oversteer 15:10 – 15:50 Gymkhana timed ‘Shoot Out’ – Steering Pad/Mile Straight Apron 16:00 Presentation & Debrief Timings & Circuit order may be subject to change on the day depending on circuit activity Note on noise limits ... to quote me "there is no limit unless you are a Le Mans Prototype or an F1 car". If anyone thinks they can compete at that level on noise, be sure to mention it when booking! 6 participating members = £390 pp All prices include VAT at the current rate and payment must be made or a deposit of £200 at the point of booking to confirm individuals places. E-mail Jo Hoad - info@catdrivingtraining.co.uk - with the subject line "Abbey Motorsport GT86 Day 31st May 2014" informing him of your interests and asking for payment details. Reversing camera - help needed!

Did wiping the outer lens not work for you then after you left? Again, for those of you who are north of Warwick, if you need assistance, I'm more than happy to meet up at some point and I can help you swap the camera out once you've got your camera through!

    Reversing camera - help needed!

Have you had this issue for a while too Mark or is it more of a recent problem?
  8. Keethos

It was only a matter of time......

Whys that then Nigel? Why would you go both Turbo and Super Charged and what you got planned?

    Reversing camera - help needed!

No way, you've had this issue since then? For what it's worth, it's probably just a bad camera that they shipped out, you're the first I've heard from who's had a problem with their camera. It's just one of the things, my mate who has an official factory fitted reversing camera on his Focus RS which has this massive dome around his camera steams up too which it shouldn't do. The problem is, I have no idea whether you'll be able to find yourself a better quality camera with the same connection as the one you've got. One of the good things about the camera that you purchased is that there is a connector closer to the end of the camera so it should be pretty simple to just removed the camera and connect another one in without messing with the head unit. However I have no idea if this connection is universal or not, so it may be a challenge finding a different camera that will not only fit the connection but also the hole in the boot lip. If you were to just get yourself the same camera again and you weren't confident on swapping the camera out (which is relatively easy by the way), I could give you a hand the next time I'm up your way!
  12. Awesome stuff......bumped into a fellow local petrol head friend and turns out that he knew a few people who were offering him tickets to go to this.....if he had known I wanted to go I could have gotten a ticket of him in the end.....ah well.....I had a long and needed lie in anyways

    Reversing camera - help needed!

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with your reversing camera. The camera is definitely fogging up on the inside rather than just the outer lens being covered in muck? Mine gets caked in muck when the ground is wet as the car loves to kick up mucky water from behind. If it's not just the outer lens that is dirty and it is in fact getting moisture on the inside of the lens, then your best bet would be to replace it with the same camera or with something very similar in size because the hole in the boot lid will only fit certain cameras (i.e. the camera I brought is bulkier but required a smaller hole where as your camera is a more sleek and adjustable which sits further into the boot which required a bigger hole). The cameras were purchased from ebay I believe so that would be the best place to look as it'll be cheap (as they typically come from china). Have you contacted Jay directly at all? And if so, how long ago was this?

    Updates for the ECUTEK Software

Awesome stuff Mark, is this more applicable to supercharged cars or would you also do this to NA cars too? If so, what exactly would you do? Is it something like less throttle at low speeds for SC to tame the torque? Would doing this on an NA car be for for eco reason?
