I should have mentioned that I didn't even request mine to be changed, they just did it for me when my stock exhaust was rattling, they found it to be a problem and swapped in a new one. I'd just notify them and tell them that your car is currently not modified and that this is occurring, but tell them that it's not a major issue for you and you can wait till your next service or something. So like Rob said, your warranty is only void on the parts that have been modified, so if you are looking at or have changed the exhaust, this will not affect the warranty to replace this valve chirping issue which is based around your engine. Same with simply changing the air filter, most dealers should have enough sense to know what mods could have caused whatever issue you may have got and if in doubt, go to a dealer who is an enthusiast like RRG Macclesfield or any other dealer that has signed up to any of these forums as they will all know that the chirping is a standard issue and not affect by any mods!

Christmas Drinks Down South - 22/12/13 - Grasshopper

I've got nothing planned at the moment but I'll have to see, will let you know closer to the time Faith! -
Yeah, I had that, first the chirping, then on the odd occasion, I had the weirder noise in the cabin like in your video, especially when it was extra hot like when I was on a trackday. After the dealer changed the valve thingy, I've not had it back yet, but yes, I've read from others that this eventually returned for them. If it's really bothering you, you should take it to the dealers and have them change it, I'm sure they've got a bulletin notice for it now.

Well, I gave it another shot while in the car park of the Premier Inn while people were leaving for the Karting place on Saturday and this time, I pulled the rubber out from underneath and just had it laying there (rather than it being tucked around the metal plate on the underside. With it sat on the roof this time you couldn't see a gap, so I started to tighten the nut which took ages, after it started to tighten a little (but it can still be screwed more), I checked the aerial and you could no longer see the rubber, so hopefully it's just squashing the rubber under the aerial and not actually bending the roof at all to match the curve of the aerial. I've not tightened it any more as you can't really move or twist the aerial any more so don't really want to over tighten it. A tip I forgot to mention in my original post for those who might want to try this themselves, pulling out the 3 plastic grommets can be tricky if you dig in too far and try and pull too much of the grommet out, what I mean by this is that the plastic grommet has 2 circular discs, the outer black disc and an inner white disc sandwiched together, make sure that you are only pulling on the black outer disc and that you are separating it from the white disc, this will eventually pop out and you will be able to pull the whole thing out then. Secondly, to disconnect the aerial from it's connector, reach behind the connector from the left hand side and pinch the left side of the connector horizontally, while pulling on the cable from the right, this should then pop the connector out and you can go ahead and unscrew the 22mm nut. And lastly, before you pull the original aerial out, you will need to pinch in 2 lil tabs on either side of the screw thread for the aerial to unhook it and then pop the aerial out. I didn't actually bother connecting this new aerial up as I don't actually listen to the radio but if you did, you would need to cut up the oem aerial cable and splice or crimp connectors to the oem pin connector with the new aerial, this is a photo of the oem aerial and the connector that you need:

or they just keep on making crickety noises from the unit as it moves about in the cases

## Special Offer ## GT86/BRZ/FR-S Exhaust Systems From Tuning Developments
Keethos replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
It'll probably be the manifold that makes the most difference to the torque dip right? -
That is awesome stuff Adrian, how long do you reckon before you can let Ian run rampant with it?

Awesome stuff Ivan, glad you got it sorted mate!

Yeah, I too was looking at the Nokian stuff, Auto Express rate them while other sites don't really rate them as highly.....plus the ones I've found where the A3 ones, not D3....not 100% sure what the difference is but the A3 are more performance so better in the dry I think......but looks like I won't be needing winter tyres as I can nab my sister's Honda Jazz when it's bad as she's shooting off to Austria for Ski season......I hope anyways.....otherwise I'll borrow one of my cousin's cars

Just to clarify for those who don't already know, the issue when the windows do stick a bit and you get flashing window switch, is that the window will no longer return back to it's closed position (after it drops an inch, it won't go back up when you close the door) and some cases, the window can't be wound down or up at all like in Rob's case. This is just a fail safe that they build in to prevent damaging the windows in cold icy conditions. The reset sequence that Alec mentioned above is to hold both window switches down (so the windows drop all the way down, if the passenger side doesn't, you might need to use the passenger's side window switch to do so), once they are both down, back on the drivers side controls, hold the switches up so both windows closes but continue to hold the switches up for about 10 seconds, after which, this should reset and sync the windows.

Toyota Touch (& Go) Video Input for Telemetry using Torque Pro
Keethos replied to GT86Jay's topic in ICE/Electrical
Just a couple of other things Jay, I take it that while viewing the telemetry, you can still answer phone calls etc, does it just cut the screen to the phone screen or something? Also, had a random idea this morning, have you even used TeamViewer before (or any other app that allows you to connect to another computer and even control it)? With TeamViewer now on android, I can use my phone to connect to a PC and control it, I can also now connect my PC to an Android phone and control that, so wondering weather you could connect an Android phone to this android PC to control it instead of plugging in a keyboard and mouse? Or any other similar app that could do this? -

Hi all,I've finally got a date for my exhaust install which will be 9am at Abbey Motorsport on Saturday 26th October, while I'm down there (again :32 (14) we can have an actual mini meet at Mark's premises which has been agreed by Mark himself as he'll actually be available then, which means we can actually checkout his supercharger and other goods there. Obviously you don't all have to turn up as early as 9am but I'll be there from then onwards so please, join us for yet another Surrey Mini Meet :32 (28):Abbey Motorsport,Stonehall Farm,Woodhurst Lane,Oxted,RH8 9HJP.S. If anyone wants to mention this to any other owners from across the way, by all means do so, the more the merrier I say....whether they're waving an Owners flag or a Drivers flag :32 (17): -

Mini- Surrey Meet & Abbey Motorsports Saturday 26th October (Round 2)
Keethos replied to Keethos's topic in Social Meets
That's the thing, I don't think I have, I've actually been driving more sensibly believe it or not, I'm trying not to make tooooo much racket around certain areas so I tend to drive a lil more sedately, so low revs to keep the noise down.....at least until the car warms up and the exhaust carbons up a bit more but yes obviously I have been booting it every so often.....the car sounds sooooooooooo much better and even more so a high revs so I'll have to monitor this a lil more and let you guys know! -
Yeah.....I'm starting to feel a lil left out too....and I ain't got no plans But awesome stuff either way Ian!

So audio will be going through the Android PC into the HeadUnit via the Aux port at the bottom of the center console is this correct? Will you lose audio quality and layers etc by just going through the Aux port? And you can't listen to music off normal USB sticks from the usual USB port while displaying the Android PC right? Do you now have to plug the USB stick into the Android PC to play the music? -

Awesome stuff Keith! I see they got the back box the right way up Can the car run rich with a different exhaust or generally end up using more petrol? My tank seems to be drinking petrol a lil quicker than normal I think! -
Awesome stuff Ian, can't wait to see the finished article....what exactly have you gone for and what else you doing to it beside the turbo? Exciting stuff!

I can understand that understeering is easier to control but if you're trying to avoid something, surely you'd want the grip at the front to actually manoeuvre around something, rather than being unable to steer out the way due to understeering?

Now this is getting a lil silly.....honestly....I'm hearing what they're saying but I really don't see the point of this video/comparison...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTDtUG-rVfA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTDtUG-rVfA FYI Rob....where's the video button gone?
