Mini- Surrey Meet & Abbey Motorsports Saturday 26th October (Round 2)
Keethos replied to Keethos's topic in Social Meets
Was a nice lil mini meet, had a good chat with Rob, Quixote and even Keith graced us with his presence.....even though it was in his Hybrid Got my lovely exhaust fitted.....really loving the deep burble and loud barks it makes.....at the moment, it is a lil on the loud side but it'll be fine once it carbons up.......the car used to turn just a couple of hears when pooting around, now there's even more heads turning as people can hear me coming Whoever made the back box for this particular exhaust messed it up big time in my opinion, the back box has the cobra brand pressed out which looked quite nice......however, the person who made it welded the other bits onto the back box the wrong way round.....so from underneath, you can't see the cobra bit as it's pointing inwards towards the car and not downwards so people could see it from underneath. Obviously not a major issue for me but they've kinda screwed themselves over brand/marketing wise Either way, big thanks to Mark and his crew for his hospitality and service! -
Welcome to the club and congrats! As well as what Ian mentioned, what plans have you got for your new baby?

STOP TEASING :32 (9): What you going to do to it? :32 (20):

I ran my car in as per the manual which is keep below 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles, people will argue this day and night that modern cars don't need to but better safe than sorry, plus you're not just running in the engine but all other components too. For the first 500 miles I stayed below 4000 rpm, may have crept over once or twice but after that, I start to give it a bit more revs once the car was properly warmed up but never properly red lined it but that was just me and I know others have done similar.......it's really down to you mate.As for fuel, I try and get super as much as possible but obviously if I can't then just normal 95RON will still be fine, you may lose a bit or performance but you probably won't really notice it. I tend to stick with Tesco's Momentum primarily due to the club points as I have a Tesco credit card too which gives me a bit more.

When we were leaving the Cat and Fiddle Inn at the previous Macclesfield meet, we all had to turn around as the road was closed off after a crash. Would have been nice to see more details about the crash i.e. stats for the type of vehicle or motor cycle involved etc

I got the angle about right without too much fuss.....but lining the lines up aren't spot on but then again, it doesn't look out of place at all (doesn't help that the lines are slightly different widths due to the stretching and pulling the wrap around), but this was a right ballache and I actually managed to really really mess up one of the corners and couldn't correct it and ended up ruining the wrap so had to rip it all off and start again......but again, with the same corner....I just could not get it wrapped without it wrinkling.....even with a proper heat gun....and you can see it from the drivers seat which is annoying :32 (39): I also messed up a lil on the inside which took me a while to wrap but it worked out in the end and you can't see it.I'm guna leave the silver bits around the gear stick etc as the buttons and stuff are silver and I won't even bother trying to wrap those, so I'm happy leaving the bits around the gear stick silver....but I might try wrapping the silver vent rings....then I think that's it wrap wise.....don't want to over do it now :32 (14):

I've been a busy boy today, besides fixing my window switch rattle (well hopefully anyways) I also used the generously donated boot polystyrene tray, courtesy of Rich (Riceburner) from RRG Macclesfield as my dealer decided to throw mine away after installing the JBL system, to give the boot carpet more support so it's doesn't sag as much. This meant having to cut a big hole out of the middle of it which was a messy job but it works a treat. Not really an issue for those who order the JBL system now days as the kit now includes some foam pads that get stuck to the underside of the boot lining so they give support from the top of the sub itself. As well as this....I've been busy wrapping like a gangsta....well kinda :32 (18):I'm not the most arty guy in the world so my cutting/trimming skillz are a bit limited, but will give this another try on the spare key. And as I've had the inner door handle covers off....I got thinking:Though no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't get this one corner right.....maybe I over stretched it but I spend ages on this

All I can say is I really want a massive display like that......I'd love to just rip out all the controls from our centre console and fit a massive screen like this....I'd need some right technical wizz kid to come up with something that could control all that in a nice GUI!

The arm rest is easy to install if you're willing to drill holes into your own interior, checkout CTP (Cheap Toyota Parts), Fensport etc from our traders section or any other source as they''ll probably be cheaper than from a main dealer.

Mini- Surrey Meet & Abbey Motorsports Saturday 26th October (Round 2)
Keethos replied to Keethos's topic in Social Meets
Just a bump to remind people that there's a mini meet this weekend over at Abbey Motorsport. I will be there from around 9am onwards and will probably be around till lunchtime, then will probably wonder over to the GrassHopper Inn for a spot of lunch so if anyone is around and fancy a meet up, come on down! -
Welcome along dude and you can't go wrong with any choice mate, weather it's a BRZ (though more rare) or a GT86 (a slightly more tail happy car), leather or cloth, Black or Blue! Just like everything mentioned above really!
-
Wow....those are some miles dude, glad you're still enjoying it! When we guna see you at a meet mate?
-
Welcome and congrats! You've got yourself a cracker there....especially with all your lil extras! Hope to see you around!
-
Most probably a long shot but any chance the fella who owns a blue BRZ and works at the Arena Bicester Park off Charbridge Lane happen to be a member on here?

Well, gave this wrapping malarkey another go but this time with a proper heat gun which gave me much better results. The key fob came out a lot better and this time, I used a not as sharp blade to cut it out as this meant I could score the corner multiple times to cut it accurately, where as using a mega sharp blade meant it easily gripped the wrap and could easily go off track and cut the wrap too short or too long! However, doesn't matter how good my wrapping gets, because the wrap doesn't get tucked away, the edges of the wrap will eventually peal up, dirt will get under it and it will start to flare out which is guna be a ballache.....means having to take it off again at some point :32 (3):Gave the steering wheel bit another go as last time it was pretty poor, especially around the hole in the centre....but even with a proper heat gun, the hole is way too deep and narrow that it would be impossible or extremely difficult to cover properly so I decided to just cover over it which still looks good! And then lastly I thought I'd give this dash piece a go which turned out pretty good......so I thought I'd do the bit around the head unit as well.....only to realise that my last piece of wrap is a tad too short :32 (39): So I'll have to order some more in!
-
LOL, that does look good :32 (19):
-
Hmmmm....some synchronised drifting :32 (1):
-
I want to do one of these at some point....and maybe one of these learn to drift ones too!
-
Congrats Rich and definitely looking forward to whatever you do to it! Did this fellow owner keep everything that you did to it?
-
That is one good logic and result!!!

The only issue is, pretty much all of the games now days are designed and developed for PS3/4's and Xbox 360/One's and PC games are just ports/after thoughts, so doesn't matter how powerful your PC is, there will be hardly any truly amazingly power hungry awesome games out for these uber PC's.Yeah, it was a cool idea (I even got a mini console thing for your TV for free from Eurogamer couple years back.....couldn't even sell the bugger as no one wanted it :32 (39): But yeah, even though you were streaming 1080p resolution, you could still tell you were streaming a video....plus there was still some lag with the controls.
-
The question now is why Litchfield's SC over say Abbey's or whoevers? Don't Litchfield do different stages of tuning for the SC kit? That's a pretty quick turnaround, looking forward to hearing more about this!!!
-
I haven't really read or heard much about the Steam Boxes etc, what exactly will they consist of? Are they basic PC's designed to connect TV's to the internet and play games of Steam servers like Onlive or are they proper gaming high performance PC's designed to connect to TV's?
-
That's hard to say Rob, it might only be rubbing in certain situations, when cornering hard in a certain direction, so it could continue to wear especially if you don't actually know why exactly it's rubbing, you don't know what and how much it's touching during what situation!
-
Chances are I'll eventually get both but I'll most probably be getting a PS4 first.......though don't think I'll be getting one yet.....possibly during the new year when there are some deals to be had....but I left the pre-order to late and now most places are sold out or can't guarantee one units soon. Plus I've still got boat loads of games that I've got and need playing/finishing and I've still got a massive list of games that I've been meaning to get and play through.....but it feels like I never have much time anymore :32 (11):sad times!
