I can't see it being too difficult, shouldn't be any different to filling holes on the boot lid, then again, I'd imagine it'll be easier since you can get to the underside of it which you can't with the boot lid. No idea on cost though, couple of hundred maybe?

Yeah the engine itself doesn't sound that nice but it revs well, definitely needs an aftermarket exhaust to make it sound better/drown it out [emoji14] Regarding the green goo, supposedly it's there to protect the engine during transit over seas from the sea water/air, everyone has it unless they've cleaned it up themselves which I've not bother doing.

Both my front and rear are held on by velcro and they're very secure, almost a mission to get them off just to put show plates on

Welcome to the club bud, best of luck with the purchase and hopefully see you around, there's a midland meet coming up soon!

Yeah just place your hand behind the handle like you are about to open the door, give it a second and it should unlock and then pull the handle and to lock, just brush and place a finger/hand over the lines at the end of the door handle. The way the system opens the passenger side is dependant on the settings from the dealer or whoever, you can unlock just the drivers side from the door handle or you can unlock both and the same applies to the remote lock/unlock on your fob, you can set the car to unlock just the drivers side or both, your dealer can sort that out for you. To replace the battery, just release the key from the fob and use the end of the key to twist the base of the fob open, then swap out the battery.

As some of you may know I've been running the K-Sport brakes on the front of my car for a short while now, after initial issues of the pads partially seizing and subsequently not wearing properly (outside pads wore out very quickly while the insides still had plenty of meat left, plus it managed to round the top outer edge of the disc), I've now had a new set fitted (well part worn, I know I know, cheap skate here but they were given to me) after the previous ones were literally hammered out, cleaned and new discs fitted. I've now had my first proper track day in them at Cadwell part the other week and it really does stop, it doesn't have mega initial bite like the Stoptech pads I had on the stock calipers but they are very progressive, you continue to apply more pressure and they begin to stop even more. Here's my query, after lunch and numerous laps around Cadwell, when I went back on track I felt that the pedal felt very soft, like it didn't want to do anything until you push the pedal a good 60-70% the way down, then it'll really start to slow you down (compared to roughly 40% the way down when it'll start to seriously slow you down during the morning), so it lost it's progression and required me to put my foot further down but it didn't lose it's braking power. This because even more obvious as I started to struggle to toe heal because as my toes were having to travel further down, I was struggling to reach the gas pedal or modulate it properly. Anyone know if this is normal? (After the car had properly cooled down it returned to normal) Another thing that I am noticing is that when I apply a little bit of brake (even when stationary), I feel the pressure behind the pedal initially but then suddenly the pressure suddenly drops. Also when stationary, when I apply the brakes, I can push the pedals down about roughly 60% of the way down with a bit of resistance, but then if I lift off and apply the brakes again I get a lot more resistance and only travel roughly 50% of the way down. Is this right? Is there air in the system maybe? I'm uncertain about how things should be since I've been driving around with them partially seized etc for so long that I don't even know what's normal and what's not any more. Any info is much appreciated thanks.

The solution for my long pedal travel was purely new pads, turns out the pads I put in pretty much crumbled to pieces (old part worn K Sport ones I believe). Now I've got a fresh pair of Yellow Stuff and the pedal is back up top. I've mentioned before, I only went BBK primarily for their looks as there are plenty of disc and pad solutions which will do the job very well too, even for track use and when going FI. The 330mm discs can fit over 17'' stock wheels (but it very close diameter wise, may need to keep the wheel weights clear out of the way though) but the spokes of the wheels are an issue so spacers would be needed or aftermarket 17'' wheels with a bigger offset would be ideal.

Congrats and welcome to the club Scott. Any plans for the car at all? Mods? Trackdays? Car Shows etc? Nothing major but lil stuff like condensation in the rear tail lights due to over tighten bolts damaging the seals. Rust on the small pillar by the small triangle glass on the doors. Vertical scratches on the windows due to the rollers scratching. There's a voluntary recall for a power steering fault. Probably some other minor issues but can't remember.

I dyno'd the car when my coil pack was playing up and did notice slight reduce in power but wouldn't stay it was in limp mode or anything.

The Michelin stealth blades have been awesome so far, no problems at all, the only down side really is that they don't look as nice as the OEM one, I'm guessing that the reason the OEM ones are so much more expensive is because they have the fancy formed (wind deflectors?) backing to the blades.

3rd September - Grasshopper lunch & social - South East
Keethos replied to rob275's topic in Social Meets
First off, so glad that you're alright Chris and that you made it back in one piece. I've never really stood about on a motorway by a crash scene before, not a very nice place to be (even if it's a great place to watch some very nice cars driving past), watching complete idiots do stupid things as they drive by, slowing right down thus causing people to honk and tailgate, people laughing, clapping, shouting random shit, even road rage and cutting each other up after forcing their way into another lane because they didn't bother filtering earlier and the people in line not willing to let people in.....what was worse was that these cars were getting closer and closer to my car as they pushed in as I used my car with hazard lights to divert traffic.....I'm sorry that this had to happen to you Chris and I'm sure these idiots really didn't help the situation either, just glad that you're unhurt (though I know you said you hit you head, everything OK otherwise?) and that no one else was involved. Also, mega surreal being stood on a motorway with absolutely no cars about, turns out there was another crash further back behind us so they stopped all traffic and we couldn't see a car in site for a short while. Also, sorry to hear about Sarah and Nigel, they too had a bump though very minor so lets hope everyone gets their cars sorted and back on the road again soon. But a big shout out to Rob for organising this and a big thank you to all that attended, it was pretty impressive how many people actually turned up for a mini meet like this. It was great to put some faces to new members though sorry I didn't get to chat to everyone, there was so much catching up to do. Lets hope we can get another nice big mini meet together again sometime soon.- 92 replies

Thanks guys, my only concern is if they'll rub but I don't think they are but might want to get them raised a bit after they've settled.
