Hey, welcome Will!

Thanks Lauren!

Hi all,A couple of odd/random questions here but here goes. When stating the value of your vehicle to your insurance company, this isn't what the insurance company will pay out will it? They will have a search and see how much the car is worth at the time of the crash, not at the time of renewal right? But I take it that if I state the value too low (thus lowing my premium?), then they will probably pay out that much rather than paying up to what the car is truly worth in the current market right? Now if that is the case, is this an issue if I have gap insurance? The gap insurance will cover the difference whatever the standard insurance company pays out right? The main reason for this query is because I'm due a renewal soon-ish (5th October) and if I wanted to go with a company such as Greenlight Insurance (who are a performance specialist insurance company), who were pretty competitive when I had my Clio RS 200 and who offer Trackday insurance for £50 (I believe), I would have continued with them. However, turned out that they have a vehicle value cap of £20k, so at the time, the GT86 was too expensive for them to insure, which was just outrageous, how can you be an insurance company who specialises in performance cars and have a vehicle value cap of £20k? Aaaanyways, just thinking weather it would be ok to estimate my vehicle as being £20k so I could potentially get insurance with them and since I have gap insurance, need not to worry that I've under estimated the value of my vehicle? Thanks.

Nice write-up from Matt Bird:http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=28350

Welcome along mate. Yeah, tis a shame but that's how some people are I suppose. You're more than welcome to just copy and post the thread or paste the link in here if you like (we can still see the mods section of that site), we promise not to redirect people to porntube or something....unless you want us to :32 (18):

Reading it fine with my android chrome app

LOL, no time soon I'm afraid, definitely can't afford it now, thinking IF I do, it'll be in about 3 years time when I might start to get a lil bored of the car, if there's nothing else out there that tickles my fancy, bam, turbo, body kit the works! :32 (18):The question is when will you be turbo'ing yours? You've got the awesome looks, now you need the boost :32 (17):

Hi,I've been advised by Mark from Abbey Motorsport that an overpipe for an N/A engine isn't worth the money, anyone on here in the know agree or disagree? What are the benefits of an overpipe? Is it just better flow which should mean better performance but because it's an N/A engine, the gains in minimal? How much gain are we talking? Would it feel any different? Makes more sense on a FI engine I assume?
-
That's my worry LFA, but then again I've got Gap Insurance so my thought is that it would be ok as they'd cover the difference anyway right?
-
:+: awesome, thanks for the pic. Mark e-mailed me 2 pics, one of each and like others have mentioned in the past, the OEM one does look proper battered to fit correctly, but again doesn't improve much by replacing it.

So direct line are a no go for people with mods then?

This is SPARTA!!! oooosh

Surprised with the dealer comment by one of the guys as I've heard nothing but bad things about BMW dealers.Dave, I'm sure the Pistonhead guys would lap that offer up like I did and they'll all pretty much change their tune!

Do it do it do it do it do it do it :32 (37):

Congrats, Welcome and glad you're enjoying it!

Well I think I've got my mind made up and guna save some money by not getting the overpipe, thanks everyone for your inputs. Since my main goal is getting some more sound out of the exhaust, whatever gains would be great, but since it's not my main priority, unless the overpipe changed the sound dramatically then I'm not chasing every little bit of performance, especially for that price. If I was to change the manifold then I'd probably change it, but I can see myself doing that any time soon.
-
That's the thing, I'm looking at getting the Cobra Exhaust system, non resonated with the cat delete. I originally included the over pipe but Mark said: "To be 100% honest on a N/A car the over pipe is a waste of extra money". So just wanted a second opinion really. There are no plans to go FI any time soon so if there are no real benefits then may save myself some cash!

Nice write up Lauren, shame you didn't have a nice clear day for a proper run and to show Keith around, speaking of Keith, if your still with him, give him a nudge to get him to give us an update on his car please :32 (20):So how much of a difference would these braces be without the other components that were initially installed (i.e. the door stabilizers and engine strut brace)? And I take it that this doesn't affect ride at all?

Oooooo burn! Sadly that is as useful as I can be as I refuse to use apple devices, sorry.

What that man said, there really is no point getting a game for current gen unless is not coming out on next gen or I seriously can't wait and have to play it, there is a slim chance that GTA might come out on next gen, they say it won't but who knows, but again chances are, no time soon.Found this, here's hoping a PC version of V comes out and someone can make a proper hi-res mod: And this was achievable with GTA IV and a load of mods, imagine what people will do with GTA :

I've pre-ordered an Xbox version purely because I prefer the Xbox pad and most mates will be on Xbox, but I worry as so far, all footage has been on the PS3 and the PS3 is obviously more powerful, I just hope the Xbox version looks equally as good. Sadly no word of a PC version yet, but when they do, chances are I'll get a copy of that too as I'll be forward to some real car mods and the very first thing I hope someone creates is a GT86 or a BRZ at least, chances are though it'll be a Scion FR-S or BRZ.

So why the hesitation to go FI LFA? Is it just a money issue or something else?
-
With regards to LFA's Misc thread, no idea, I'm a premium member and I can't seen anything either, says there's 1 attachment, no idea what it is though

Looks interesting, was that someone's street car of was it a proper track car?
