Nice build so far and welcome to the club! I've always liked the idea of air suspension in the fact that you could raise and lower at will it you were tackling big bumps and what not. Are handling with air rides that bad or is it just the stigma attached to it that people dismiss them so quickly after all, high end car companies use them too e.g. Bentley even on their GT3R

Nice plans, yes, our presences at shows have been growing pretty well, last year we had 30 odd GT86/BRZ at Japfest 1 along with 12 or so AE86's from the Brotherhood club, we also had a pretty big stand at JAE for the last couple of years with the the IMOC MR2 club guys....so keep your eyes peeled for up and coming shows in the events section. Next one will be Japfest at Silverstone I think and already have a fair few people listed.

Congrats and welcome to the club. So and plans for the car? Mods? Car Shows? Trackdays?

Haha yes Keethos!! Is this from back in October? Can't believe I didn't notice lol thank you very much sir. So does anyone know of someone looking for a GT86? This one is selling at a cracking price Yeah, you were in pretty bad shape so thought it'd be easier to just stick them in for you.....was thinking you would have noticed them sooner [emoji13]

Lol, check your arches [emoji12]

[emoji11] feeww, thought you were guna sell your car without thanking me for the plastic push pins in the rear arches[emoji14]
-
You selling your car Chris? Whhhhhyyyyyyy?
-
Hate to be that guy but I'm skeptical, there's plenty of reasons why the GT86 won't be going for 30 years....I hope it does but cars in general now days aren't built to last, they're not over engineered like the old cars were. But like yourself, I'll most probably be keeping the car for as long as possible after all that I've done to her.
-
Nice, wonder if they'll do a yellow colour[emoji14] how did you removed the old knobs and ring around the push start then?
-
That's a bit shit, not impressed with that mate, being slagged off because the mechanic hasn't got a clue deserves mentioning not just because of the attitude but the lack of knowledge and trust. Hope you get it all sorted though.

Cos of work and being out and about constantly this happened to me, they tried to take the money out, it went out, then straight back in again. Was a day or two over the payment day and I managed to call them up and actually pay them with no charge and spent half an hour trying to call my bank to see if I have been charged, luckily I was eventually told no, no charge....so got off lucky there me thinks.

Both the enkei wheels look good Joe, I originally wanted something similar to the ones above (the black with polished lip): But it seems that these Rota's weren't available in the UK without a special order something so never really bothered hunting them down (did find them in the UK but not the size I wanted I think, hence the special order which required x number of orders before they would consider bringing them into the UK or something).

No worries, I know Rob and possibly some others who have gone FI and have kept the stock calipers but changed the discs and pads and have not heard anything from them regarding having to go BBK, and Rob does trackdays and the sprints too. The stock calipers, discs and pads did me fine on various trackdays but I glazed them at Mallory which is a very small tight track and I was pushing her quite hard, hard on the brakes and they eventually gave up, if I had better pads and discs then that probably wouldn't have been a problem. But it's a good shout regarding weight though, the stock system is pretty heavy, even the K Sport's were a lot lighter than stock so I'm sure the Stoptech's would also be lighter than stock. Doesn't Adrian from Fensport run Stoptech's all round? And he's running 4-500 BHP without any problems.

No idea but I have a feeling that you'd want to remove the complete bottom panel (the one with the push START, little pocket and USB port) on to make it easier to remove the push START button to swap it or the chrome ring out (no idea how easy removing the chrome ring will be though as I've never seen anyone do it before). Last time I tried to remove this lower panel I failed miserably but I've heard a few people on here remove theirs before so hopefully someone will pop one with a better description however I have this illustration that might help: This was taken out of the JBL installation manual that can be found here: http://www.toyota-tech.eu/ along with various other manuals that might be handy.

Stop encouraging people to get the 57getters Ian! It's bad enough that Adam as them before I can get mine [emoji14]

I think any of the options above would suffice braking wise, it's really not necessary to go BBK but if looks is a key thing then obviously go BBK, that's the main reason why I went for a BBK, better brakes than stock was just a bonus even though I do track days because the stock calipers are still pretty good. The stock calipers, pads and discs are very good for road use, for the odd track day, just changing the pads would suffice but if you push quite hard on track (and brake a lot) then pads and discs would be recommended.

Unexpected things you like about the GT86
Keethos replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Jaguar have already demo'd this tech over a year ago, don't think the tech is quite here yet but it's bloody cool: So using curved displays and cameras inside and out of the car, it can detect when you're looking and make the pillars look transparent etc i.e. capture and project what's behind the pillar on the pillar. I've even been told about how Land Rover are doing the same but making the bonnet appear transparent so you can see what you're driving over when off road (very cool). I never really thought about this or even the whole ghost car (which is designed for navigation and on track lap times) but I did envision on the road markings for navigation ever since OLED's were developed many many years ago.....wish I had patented the idea -
Wheels Magazine Car of The Year 2016 Mazda MX-5
Keethos replied to Herbie86's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I've sadly only test drove the 1.5l MX5 and wasn't overly impressed, it was alright but there were a lot of niggles with the interior etc and just felt really really gutless. Have been meaning to try a 2.0l but just to see the difference, no interest at all in getting an MX5. -
Personally prefer the look of the Valenti's more than the Tom's. But how much will the Rev 2 Valenti's be? Plus aren't they just the same but with the scrolling indicator lights?

No worries, hope you have a fun day anyways!!!
