Unexpected things you Disike about the GT86
Keethos replied to remal's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I'm sure the high clutch can be tweaked though don't ask me how exactly, as for storage space, there's plenty about, you just need to pick your storage space wisely......plus who listen's to CD's anymore? Just rip them onto a tiny 32GB stick and leave the CD's at home, you can fit a ton of CD's onto a 32GB stick like this: http://www.memorybits.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=27912 -
You're guna have to give more information than that, could be literally anything. New TT maybe?
-
LOL, love how the press release also illustrates that you can't fit anyone in the back without breaking their legs

Welcome to the club and glad to see that you've come to your senses Just out of curiosity, why are you cancelling your order for a GTI?

Amber Performance Open Day - 03/10/2015
Keethos replied to will300's topic in Meets/Show & Shine - Pictures & Videos
Sorry for the late posting of pics, been away for the past couple of weeks so not had time but here are some pics I took: I know it's not an 86 but it was a bloody nice looking Ferrari with wheels I'd love to have on my car......though still not as good as yellow as mine Something for the Ginger Ninja's here (here's looking at you in particular Faith!!!) Another big thanks to James and his team at Amber, was a very good day! Sorry to anyone I've missed out (sorry Sarah)! -
I think Tariem hit the nail on the head with the Pikachu image, it is a rather "cute" looking car, angry cute....but not for me thanks......not manly enough

Congrats and welcome to the club. Any plans for the car at all? Mods? Trackdays? Car Shows etc?

Hate to be that guy but if you could, please post up some pics just so people can see for themselves the condition of the springs or even for the fact that there might be some people who don't actually know what they look like. Thanks.

Any chance you could weigh one of the wheels? -
Oh what I also forgot to add, the car needs a bloody digital speedo, I couldn't read the speedometer properly, not because the scales are completely off and tiny like the 86 but because the angle was slightly off and me being a reasonable height, if it looked like I was doing 30mph on the speedo, I would actually be doing more.....
-
Think he's referring to the red 86 on the right.
-
Sorry Will, didn't see that we were convoying, in that case fine, I'll meet you guys at Showcase.....but what time are we supposed to be at Amber?
-
Sorry for your loss Keith, hope we can meet up and catch up soon!

Hey All, Thought I'd start a thread here for people to post up recommended Track Day Insurance Companies for those who want that extra piece of mind when they venture on track. I for one am wanting to cover myself just in case since my last incident, I know a lot of people will say it's pointless, waste of money etc but I for one wished I had insurance....though I doubt I would have been able to get cover for a car show track session but I digress. I have used Sky Track Day Insurance before as well as MORIS who were pretty straight forward to use, MORIS even have discounts for multiple trackdays booked in advanced if I remember correctly, but I haven't actually tried them yet to see if they'd cover stuff like the Toyota Sprint Series (though MORIS do do competitive cars on track insurance). Can people recommend any other track day insurance companies especially those who would cover stuff like the TSS? I've also been insured by Greenlight Insurance in the past whom would also cover on track by just ringing up and paying £50 for the day but sadly never used it then and when I got my 86, they wouldn't insure me as according to the dude on the phone, they have a vehicle value cap of £20k which is shocking considering they're a performance specialist insurance company. Will give them another bell now that my insurance is due and my car is worth a lot less now but again, no idea if they'd cover something like the TSS. Can people also recommend any insurance companies who cover both road use and track days like Greenlight? Keith

But she has been using them previously with much success. I still have mixed feelings about them, sometimes they feel like they've got plenty of grip even in the wet, sometimes they feel like they have absolutely no grip what so ever but they are relatively predictable and consistant once they've warmed up....just don't expect mega grip all the way through a corner. Let's also not forget that a lot of these failures that get reported on cheaper wheels is also down to the quantity, because they're so cheap, a hell of a lot more are sold so you'll get more failures because of that and obviously more people willing to moan about it over the Internet, not enough people who have brought cheap wheels, driven them hard on bumpy roads and track have shouted about how awesome they are, it's usually people who have issues are the people who get heard.

No worries, we'll sort something else out.....like a midlands meet at some point somewhere!
-
Thanks Jeff, you guna be at Amber at all next weekend? If so, what are the chances of bringing a wheel along? Not to worry if you don't want to, I'm sure we can sort out a time for me to pop round.
-
You won't need any spacers, you should be able to fit them as they are with nothing else. Quick question though Rab, with your springs, did you increase camber at all? Would Panigale need to worry about the arches with stock suspension and camber?
-
Yeah, such a shame we couldn't get the 2.0 as would have like to swap with you but since we both had the 1.5, didn't really bother thinking about swapping to see if both were as bad but still found our 1.5 to have a bit of weird steering feel.
