    Thanks folks. GT86 ordered

Lol yes, adding Cup or Clubsport would have probably helped Though I'm pro keyless and push start all the way, gave up on the idea of getting a 350z because it didn't have it, I couldn't go back to having a proper key again.

    Thanks folks. GT86 ordered

You say that though but the Renaultsport Clio Cups which were the cheaper more poverty spec were quite popular rather than getting th full spec with the cup pack....but I liked the extra luxuries especially the keyless entry so I had to go full spec while adding the cup pack.
  4. Just an email confirming this with an itinerary and it's sounds AWESOME! Can't wait for this!

    Hi

Welcome to the club and let's hope it's not too long before you get your 86/BRZ.
  6. When I get the funds, I'm probably going to get them from Nathan from Japex who will be shipping them direct from Japan as he can do a pretty good deal on them. For the 18x9.5j wheels, your looking just just shy of £1000 for a set of 4 including postage if you're lucky with customs, if not, about £1200 I believe, while UK suppliers will do them for about £1440 but don't know if that includes postage. The UK supplier is Coordsport who supply to the other venders on here such as Fensport and Abbey I believe, if you wanted to get them from the UK. The 8.5j ones will he about £1382 from Coordsport but again don't know about postage.

    Lightweight pulleys - how effective?

[emoji47] That's the thing, I have no idea, some people say it's ok some say it isn't. Can issues occur with just the lightweight pulleys and no lightweight flywheel and if so, what issues can I expect?
  8. Oooooo, I could be keen! I've always wanted to go and I've not got any training in that day...can I provisionally have a ticket and will double check to see if I can get that day or two off.

    Lightweight pulleys - how effective?

What exactly is that saying Steve? I've got the GFB light weight pulleys and after having all the pulleys put on (initially only ran with the 2 smaller ones cos couldn't get the crank one off) I have noticed a difference in how quickly the car picks up / how eager the car is with these light weight pulleys...can I expect issues to arise because of it or only if I go lightweight flywheel too?

    Bacon smell

Never had any bacon smells in the car before but the green goo never really burns off, it's there to protect the engine so it'll stay around for a while.

    Hello. Not got one... Yet.

Think it's along the A5 isn't it? odd or normal?

No worries, I'm assuming it's normal since I've had it happen since I've own the car, which has almost been 3 years, but I'm sure others will pipe up when they've got round to reading this.

    odd or normal?

Don't know about stationary revs to 800-1000rpm making a diesel sound but do sometimes get it when setting off and not giving it enough revs, sounds like a diesel/mechanical rattle sound. Every so often I get the odd low idle drop a little but it just picks up the revs again and it's usually alright for a while. As for the clutch, can't remember if I've heard thid at all but it could be just the diff engaging/disengaging?

    Gear Knob

The knob has been screwed...[emoji14]...to tightly, just twist the knob anti clockwise I believe and the badge should lower itself, had this before when the dealer screwed mine in too much that the gear stick started to push the badge up.

    Help me decide

    I'm pretty sure it's flexible-ish....Can't remember 100%
  18. I believe the mic along with the head unit and stuff would be fitted down at the UK docks and not from the factory as these are UK head units I believe so will have them fitted once they arrive in the UK. As for hight, I originally thought the same, as in my Clio 200, I could have the steering wheel quite high up but now that I've been driving it for so long, it actually feel right to me and that it's not actually too low, more like I was driving with the steering wheel too high in the Clio. Welcome to the club and congrats. Got any plans for the car at all? Mods? Track days? Shows? I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could reposition the mic.

    Just found the club

There's a pretty big food court with lots to choose from if I recall correctly....though it has been a while so I could be completely wrong....but you'd expect it from these big shopping malls.
  21. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I have these on my car again from Fensport.

  24. The T500RS like Ztox said is a serious piece of kit in terms of money, size and sheer power of the thing. I've done a fair bit of testing with it back in the day and always thought the force feedback was redonkulous, I'm sure it could snap a child's arm whenever it would initialise itself when you booted your PS3 up with it connected, sadly no gear stick but the paddles were nice and solid. I also liked how you could flip the pedals upside down to have them hang down like real pedals, though they all lacked any feedback and we're relativley easy to press. The new T300RS came after my time at Codies so never tried it but heard good things about it and I like how you can swap actual steering wheels for Ferrari or other make wheels. To my understanding, if you are going PS4 route, these are the only 2 options. To my understanding, none of the Fanatec wheels work with any of the current gen consoles so not sure why they've listed them on their website, though things may have changed over the past couple of months since I last looked. It's a real big shame as I really rated the Fanatec wheels and was on the verge of buying a set myself. I've tested the original 911 wheel, the GT3 and the GT2 wheels along with the club pedals and they were all very good wheels. The club sport pedals were the best around as they had feedback on the pedals, the brake would load up and stiffen and could even vibrate to simulate the ABS kicking in. The original 911 pedals were rather cheap and plasticy however they made the clutch pedal feel very realistic i.e. stiff initial press but then gives way the further you press, sadly thid was never carried over to the club pedals. The downside to the Fanatec stuff were the original gear sticks which were really plasticy, naff, prone to snapping and were also wobbly as hell when attached to the wheel, they should only really be attached to a proper jig, though they now have the club sport gear sticks which should be a lot better but again not tried it. I did own a Logitech G25 (but sold it to buy a Fanatec GT2 but never got round to buying one) which like James said, is a very good wheel and so is the G27. The gear stick is nice and solid but lacks any feedback and is way too easy to slot into gear. The wheels have good force feedback but the wheels themselves are a bit on the skinny side. As for the pedals, they were pretty solid and had a bit more feel compared to the Thrustmaster ones but still nothing compared to the club sport pedals. Sadly these only work on the PC, don't believe they work on the PS4 but did on the PS3. They never officially worked on the Xbox 360 but someone eventually developed an adaptor so it could communicate with the Xbox, who knows, something similar might happen with the current gen consoles but it'll be a long while yet. As for switching and swapping pedals with different wheels and stuff, never really tried it myself but you may want to read up on that if you plan on doing so as I was always under the impression that it was possible but only on PC as you were plugging the steering wheel and pedals separately into the PC.

Just took out a new policy with Prestige

When I first looked at getting the car, I'm sure it was the same group as my Clio 200 which was group 16, but that was the old insurance grouping, so the one grouping is 25? I think. But it might have changed since, no idea.....never hear or use insurance groups anymore.....they died out?
