Oh snap, it is isn't it. Do like that kit, shame they're not releasing it in the UK.
-
I'd actually prefer the other way round, at least that way you can kinda continue to listen to the music rather than it just cut in and out, much like analog TV, as long as you could still make out what was going it, much preferred that than completely missing bits.

Anyone know what kit that car has (i.e. the bumper and skirts etc)?

Yes and no matey, got a couple more quotes through, but they're still looking at around £7-8k which to be fair, isn't that far off what Rich at RRG could do it for minus other bits and bobs that don't necessarily need doing. I have however had 1 quote back this they've quoted just shy of £3k (probably be over £3k at the end as he's only quoted for the main panels and not all the brackets, clips and what not). This however is only to match the paint, so I've asked him how much for a full body respray with some other lil bits and bobs. Sadly, he's not got back to me even after a couple of emails and I can get hold of him. Wondering if he's realised it's not the right price and is ignoring me. I usually wouldn't consider this at such a low price but I was recommended this person by someone who has had a few cars repaired by him in the past. I'll keep on chasing him but the plan is to wait till winter has pasted before I get it done (saves ruining the new paint with all the salt and grit around).

There are people replacing the head unit with a small head unit, mounting it further back into the dash and then having a Nexus tablet mounted where the head unit was which seems pretty cool

Cheap Goodyear Eagle F1s through Kwik Fit

They front central jacking point isn't actually difficult to reach unless you've lowered the car, it's not as deep as the rear central jacking point and it isn't covered by the under tray but it right next to it. See this thread here http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10111 -
Thanks Nigel, I'll keep that in mind but that was my plane, bolt on whatever I can and get the rest done professionally i.e. cutting, welding and painting. I'll give you a shout if I need help!

Hi Nigel, yes my car is pear white and I appreciate the thought, but sadly it's pretty bad, it's splits down under where the passenger headlamp is located. http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/topic/1589-keethos-gt86-journey-back-to-health-mods/ http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/topic/897-bhp-lydden-2014-may-5th/page-11

Halfords Advanced Professional 120 Piece Socket Set £59.99
Keethos replied to GT86-Ian's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
Mine have, but to be fair, do did some other tools when Chris tried to remove the screws that hold the door latch/hook to fit his TRD Door Stabalizers while at JAE, not only did he snap the end of my big Philips head, he also snapped his Philips head that was attached to his impact screw driver so take that as you will but even his dealer had troubles removing this one screw (we did managed to remove 3 of them and actually get one side fitted, but this one screw was proper stuck on). I walked into my local Halfords store, with the whole tool box, showed them the broken bit and they went around the back and came back with a replacement and that was that, didn't need to show a receipt or anything like that, literally gave me it and I walked straight out again. -

Mine condenses a bit but never had that much water in there mines not too bad so I've not really worried about it but if I was getting that much water in there, I'd definitely get it looked at.

Sadly there's no real places to get new bumpers from besides direct from Toyota at the moment, most bumpers on ebay are damaged and it's a ballache waiting for the right colour to appear (trust me, I've been searching for 6/7 months). Like Rob said, you can get aftermarket complete replacement bumpers but the problem is that they'll be more expensive than a stock bumper, you'll be paying silly amounts for shipping from abroad (or if you do find a UK company who supplies a complete replacement bumper, they're mega expensive due to exchange rates and shipping included) and then you've still got to pay for the fitting and painting of the parts which again won't be cheap (again, been looking into going aftermarket after my track incident but I can't afford all the extra costs on top of all the other repairs that I need, I was looking at roughly £1.5k for a full body kit, front, rear bumpers plus side skirts, another £1.5k for shipping air freight or wait months for it to be shipped by container ship for about £600ish, then however many hundreds or thousands to get it fitted and painted ). Bumpers direct from Toyota are either £187.18 or £272.33 (both excluding VAT), not sure why I have been given 2 different prices from 2 different Toyota body shops but there's a chance that the cheaper price is for the lower spec front bumper that doesn't have the washer holes and stuff like Rob mentioned while the other price does. But again, even parts direct from Toyota come unpainted so you'll still need to pay for it to be fitted and painted. Sorry for all the negative information It might be worth seeing if you can get it repaired and touched up but from the picture you've posted, it might need some filler as it looks like there are a couple of deep gashes. How did you do manage this anyways if you don't mind me asking?

Cheap Goodyear Eagle F1s through Kwik Fit
Keethos replied to nickfrog's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
So is that £170 per pair after the 3% discount of the £20 refund? or are these on top? If the 3% and £20 refund is on top, that is a pretty good price. Since they're fitting it at your home, I assume you'll be about, I'd tell them anyways where the jacking points are just in case. -
Welcome to the club Lars and congrats on the purchase. Sadly the prices of the car vary so much over the world that I'm sure that the price is even more in another country somewhere. Nothing wrong with staying standard to begin with, I did for the first year before I started to do stuff to her (bar a drop in air filter and some minor cosmetic/gadget upgrades). Like others have mentioned, I'm sure you'll be able to get parts sent over from other places rather than sourcing them locally but the question is if you have a local mechanic who can do a decent job of installing the parts for you. I know a couple of European members have actually travelled all the way to the UK just to get stuff done by the likes of Adrian from Fensport and Mark from Abbey Motorsports. If you plan on making the trip over, please do let us know and we can sort out a meet! Looking forward to seeing what you do with you car!

Some awesome news, the GT86 has been added to the MSV Driving Gifts site to take a rally spec GT86 around Oulton Park or Brands Hatch's Rally Track! http://news.oultonpark.co.uk/toyota-gt86-to-give-first-timers-the-experience-of-rally-driving-at-op.aspx http://news.brandshatch.co.uk/toyota-gt86-to-give-first-timers-the-experience-of-rally-driving.aspx These can be booked here - http://www.msvdrivinggifts.com/experience/rallymaster.aspx For £99 you get 15 mins behind the wheel with an instructor and then a fast run as a passenger with the instructor or for £165, you get 2 x 20 mins sessions behind the wheel, a fast run as a passenger again but this also includes personal accident and cancellation cover..........club booking me thinks

During my lessons, I went on our local dual carriageway which is actually 3 lanes so it feels like a motorway, but even with the instructor, we could only do 60......purely because he feared his sign on the roof would fly off [emoji57] The first time on my own on this same carriageway, it was very early in the morning, sat nav on the windscreen decided to fall off and I silly enough to try and reach for it, almost drifted into a truck. Speaking of trucks, anyone notice how truck seem to be ignoring the 50 zones along motorways where's there's road works? I'm sat there cruising at about 54 and these trucks are probably still doing 60 past me....do these average speed cameras not work on trucks or something? Anyone else notice this?

Congrats and finding a well looked after car with some much needed changes and welcome to the club. I look forward to hearing more about plans and mods.

What on earth Keith? Why you selling? As said, I'll be keeping mine, even if I suddenly won the lottery, I'd be keeping it but I'd be playing and tinkering with it more myself....but obviously it won't be my only car [emoji13] -
Didn't Mark from Abbey day that he could also source them for you?
-
Awesome stuff, how much are they if you don't mind me asking? And what other colours do they do?

Close Rob but they looked like 4 patches of carbon fibre vinyl wrap (well that's what it looked like anyways). Sorry Nik, I didn't take any more pics that this.
