    All about Initial D

Lol, afraid so They are rebooting/re-animating the series, do wonder if they'll do more than just tease the GT86

    Help please...

That looks awesome dude, really looking forward to the final product! Might have to get you to do mine for me

    Hello!

Welcome to the club and hope you get yours soon! If you're looking second hand, there might be a couple of nice wrc blues about at reasonable prices but new cars have dropped in price anyways. To my understanding, Subaru will be getting more BRZ's into the country while Toyota might be reducing how many they bring in, but we'll see. Best of luck with the search!

    All about Initial D

I felt a bit like Takumi this weekend, but instead of an old AE86, I'm in a GT86, instead of the wondering roads of the mountain passes, the tight streets of Leamington Spa and instead of Tofu, Chinese Food It was wet so the back end was kicking out every time I pulled out of our car park

    Fitting Harnesses

Sorry for the noob question but besides the harnesses holding you in for safety purposes, are they designed to really strap you in to minimise your body movement too? I.e. if one was to get the TRD knee pad things to stop your legs moving around high G corners, would strapping your body down help do the same thing of minimising the movement of your legs/knees too?

    Picking up Saturday

Yeah, the light in the centre console warns you that the air bag is active which means no baby seats, hence the light showing a baby seat with a circle and a line through it (if I recall correctly)

    Picking up Saturday

I'd like to think that they will aautomatically get notified but I'd call up to double check! Makes sense that you declare it SORN since you will no longer be driving it, to you it could be on or off the road, up to the new owner to declare it otherwise.

Hi from soon to be GT86 owner.

Ah cool, they're from Japex, yeah, they're pretty quick with delivery, ordered a big bulk of BRZ side fenders and they came within a couple of days! Let us know how you get on with that when you finally get the car and fit it, Summit have release one that replaces one of the front strut brace brackets but they're twice the price and you have a spare bracket laying around afterwards

    A Suitable Christmas Present

No, I behaved myself and re-framed from buying one
  15. I was wondering around my local Toys R Us to pick up a couple of things for my niece's birthday and some Turtles Lego for my brother.....who's a lot older than me by the way But while I was wondering around, I stumbled across this: A slightly odd looking GT86 remote control car, looks a bit cheap, especially with the wheel that sit waaaay too far into the body but I was surprised to see anything GT86 in the store......thought I'd share this in case someone needed a present idea

    New Cosworth Supercharger.

The question is whether the roots type chargers give a nice whine and if Adrian could fit it to a non Cosworth stage 1.x car. I got a brochure through from Ben which I'll try to upload later.

Well Jay and Pitman, the difference between a super.... But in all seriousness, I'm sorry guys, I didn't mean to turn this into a rant thread. I was up late, tired and a bit frustrated.

Nigel, I don't mean to be rude but your responses really didn't help at all! I originally queried what effects adding tension to the anti roll bars made while querying if the term pre-load was correct/applicable. You then failed to explain why you can't pre-load anti roll bars but can generate twist which to me sounds like the same thing as adding tension or pre-loading. If I was using the term pre-load incorrectly then it would have been helpful to let me know that and why. Instead took my genuine question from someone who doesn't know all the ins and outs of suspension systems as a joke. I genuinely did not really know what adjustable drop links were really for and from the bit of research I did, I came across people mentioning pre-loading their anti roll bars, hence my questions for clarification.

That is the question Pitman, why do some of these coilovers come with adjustable drop links? I am just guessing that you use them to pre-load the anti roll bar but hence my question. Nigel, if lengthening one of the drop links more than the other causes torsional tension in the anti roll bar, does that not count as pre-loading the anti roll bar? Or is it just that the term pre-load means something else and that I am using it incorrectly? Some people tweak their suspension to compensate the driver being sat in the car don't they? Would they not adjust the anti roll bar too? Or are the drop links literally used to raise or lower the ends of the anti roll bar after you've raised or lowered your suspension so they don't potentially hit the floor or the underside of your car when going over uneven surfaces?

No, nothing wrong with my rears, just considering the fronts as the bolts are a mission to take off, plus I hear people getting a set with their coilovers to curious as to the point of adjustable drop links and if I need them or not. Why is it that you can't pre-load them then?
