Yeah, that's what it's looking like, don't worry people, I'm not just guna hack her together, she's my pride and joy, I'll do her propah
-
But the way I see it is that I've got to sort any bits that I can first before doing the side, the side will be the big job and by the time I come to do that, if I haven't found any more bits then I'll have to get them done brand new at the same time as it'll be mega expensive if I was to get the side done first.....then later on get the front and other bits done afterwards if they needed painting (i.e. better to get it all painted at once).

Yes Nick, it's up for bidding but I spoke to them direct and he has offered to sell it outside of ebay (saves him fees and what not I suppose). He's plastic welded it now and he said that it's barely noticeable but then he's sent me some pics and....well I'll let you decide: This is guna need sanding down, possibly filling and pretty much the whole bumper respraying........don't know if it's worth it....... back to square one
-
Well, I've just got off the phone with them and I'm guna pop all the way up to Bradford on Saturday to have look at it, if you look at the image, on the right hand side where the indicator is, you can see some black bits, that's actually a bit of a crack, they said they can plastic weld it back together for me but it will need touching up (or would it need respraying you reckon? Could just that area be blended in or would the whole bumper need respraying?). He's asked for £120 for the bumper but I might see if I can get it any cheaper when I see it. Think this is a good idea peeps?

Wow, I had no idea Lauren and I appreciate you sharing it with us! When you put it like that Faith, it's scary to think how all of a sudden one person could lose the ability to empathise and potentially commit suicide without being able to properly think it through. I knew a girl who lived around the corner from us (was actually a school friend of my older sister) who committed suicide due to depression, I didn't really know her enough to really understand why.
-
I admit, my knowledge into clinical depression is very very limited, I've known people who have had therapy and treatment for depression and stuff but I've never really discussed these matters with them to full understand it. I know people can have difficult lives, up bringings or be in very difficult situations but to me suicide is never a solution. I can understand people who have experienced traumas, drug abuse etc becoming depressed but I don't understand how people in normal conditions become depressed enough to consider suicide, but again, that's just me probably not fully understanding the actual mental condition of depression.

Arrrr man.....I liked Robin Williams! Can't believe he killed himself Wasn't he doing in the middle of filming Mrs.Doubtfire 2? I can't understand people taking their own lives but RIP either way.

Things might be looking up for me a bit here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-GT86-2012-2013-2014-GENUINE-FRONT-BUMPER-PASSENGER-XENON-HEADLIGHT-/361015701145?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item540e366e99#shpCntId After a long wait with numerous front and rear bumpers but none in white, finally one appears on ebay. The bumper doesn't look too bad, will give them a call to see exactly what is up with them as they've not mentioned anything about the state of them, but seems like exactly what I need for me car.....besides the fact that I've already purchased another passenger headlamp already.....looks like one will go back onto ebay if I get this auction.....that or if someone needs a spare passenger headlamp I'm still trying to save up enough cash to do the majority of the work, though I've spent a fair bit this month on Road Tax, 4 new tyres, a new suit and I've even booked myself in for a CAT Drift Training session (I know I shouldn't do but I was truely gutted that I missed out on the previous CAT day and just uber keen to learn how to drift and handle a car better, luckily this will all be done in a Caterham I think rather than my own car which is a bit of a shame but hay ho. Besides that, I'm still waiting for some quotes from an engineering company whom I've done some scanning for not too long ago. Really excited about this as this company works on repairing race cars to outfitting luxury cars with bullet proof armour for royalty and VIP's and stuff so I know they'll do a good job of my car. I was also on the verge of getting some custom front wings/fenders made out of fibre glass off a company call Aero Kit (aerokit.eu) for about £500ish for the pair (unpainted) but when I asked if this engineering company would fit them, they said that they'd preferred not to as they often require a lot of fettling to get them to fit correctly, but then they ask what exactly it was that I wanted. Like I've posted up previously, I'm keen on getting some front wings/fenders with side vents down them (like the Ings ones), that's when the fella turned around and said "well we could do that out of steel or even modify a stock pair to suit", this will then fit perfectly, be cheaper and stronger than the fibre glass stuff......so really excited about the prospect of having some custom wings made They might even make a jig to manufacture a batch of these custom wings if people are interested!

Awesome stuff Dan, please do let us know how you get on with the car afterwards, would love an detailed review of it all if you have time!

I'm afraid I have on idea, even though I ventured through France last year (I think....or was it the year before....), but we were driving around in old bangers so we didn't really pay much attention to the quality of the petrol. But I would be interested in seeing this list/map of yours as I do want to do a euro trip at some point (was supposed to one this year but that didn't happen due to my accident )
-
But like I've mentioned before Lauren, the cheaper poverty spec versions of say the Renaultsports (Cup versions) do pretty well, I see more Cup version available on sale than the full fat versions. I honestly don't think that a poverty spec version would do too badly as long as people know what is available out there modification-wise, if people know they can pick up a base spec car for under £20k, plus mods to go FI etc for another £5k for example, £25k for something that out performs a lot of other things out there costing a lot more, I genuinely think people would be more willing to get a GT86. The only down side to this is that not everyone out there is willing to do such a big modification but who knows.

Awesome stuff, I've just finished watching them all now and it's a shame it's finished. Would have loved to see it carry on with the whole professional side, that and I want to see more GT86 action....that tease at the end was awesome but too short. They're actually rebooting/redoing the series I believe called "Initial D Legend", wonder if they'll just keep it as is but with updated animation or if they'll change it at all and introduce some more GT86 action in there And awesome info there Alec, I was actually wondering about the performance figures of some of the cars!
-
LOL, awesome stuff.....got to be honest, never played any of them, I've got such a big list of other games to play that I just never got round to it. My car history is rather short but a good jump from a Ford KA to a Renaultsport Clio 200 before jumping to the GT86, no change in overall performance (same power & similar weight) but completely different to drive going from FWD to RWD took a bit getting used to when pushing the car hard.

Congrats and Welcome to the club! That's an impressive list of mods for someone who's never modded before, you must have been really busy reading through the posts on here

Like others have said, Yellow Aero Kit all the way That way I can take if off your hands in the near future But in all seriousness, I'm thinking it might be worth getting the red TRD if you can as it will be rare, especially if they're discontinuing them! As for the whole Sachs suspension malarkey, weren't they all the rage for the Clio Cup Trophies?

LOL, yeah, any animes I watch has to be in Japanese, I can't stand how bad these people dub them....you'd think that after so many years now that they'd know better and do a better job.....but even then....it still wouldn't be the same. @Lauren - that is mental, take it you were having a lot of fun that day then
