I thought that but I've had them for a while now and I'm sure the pads have been well heated when they stopped well and when they didn't stop so well. Steve, the only reason I mention the discs is cos I had an ever so slight lip on the disc and I'm sure they a bit worn. Don't the quality of the disc affect the stopping power, I know the pad materials make most of the difference but I wasn't sure if the quality or design on the discs helped at all.

Awesome write up Smudge, glad you're enjoying the SC! Please do give us an update at a later date you're getting on with it on how it drives during your daily activities as well as your sprints etc.

I can say that I'd probably not be getting stop techs again, not feeling 100% confident on them, typically the initial bite is good but then it doesn't seem to continue to brake as well, some times it's fine, on the odd occasion it felt like the car didn't want to stop.......so I probably won't be getting them again.....either that or I need to change my discs to work with the pads.......

Nice write up dude! Makes me want to go FI

Thanks Jo, keep us posted.

I personally wouldn't, I like my luxury bits, especially the push start and keyless entry, but I know a lot of people would be keen on a more poverty spec car at a lower price, take for example the previous Renault Clio Sports, I brought the full spec but added the cup pack to it where as a lot of people just went for the cup spec which was kinda poverty spec and they sold a fair few.....but then again, that was about £15k still rather than £20k odd.

Hi Mark and Jo, Just to query about the Drifting course, would I still be able to take part in the drifting course even though I haven't done the stage 1 performance course yet? If so, would I also be able to just do the drifting course in the Caterham rather than in my own car in case I don't feel that my car is up for it (still haven't fixed my car after the incident )? Thanks.

is that a white head unit? What is it? I needs one of them for my white interior trim

Awesome stuff....why doesn't the car sit that lower at stock......all other sports cars I see around have very little gap between the wheels and the arches like you've got there.....the stock hight is so high Those 18" you're running and how much have you lowered by?
-
Nice pics, you had the car lowered too?
-
Dude.....real sorry to see this happen to you again.....not good.....like others have said, hope you get it fixed quickly and pain free. You ok though right? No neck injuries or anything?
-
Interesting stuff Lauren, looking forward to your other 86 journeys over there!

Bit late but Happy Birthday Again!

Congrats and welcome to the club! You're guna regret waiting till the 1st of Sept knowing the car is sat at the dealers just waiting for you to pick her up.....I was guna do something similar (wait for my previous insurance policy to run out first, then get a new policy with someone else as they wouldn't insure the car) but I gave in and brought some temporary insurance for a couple of weeks just so I could get her early and drive her! Any plans for the car at all? Track days? Sprints? Mods?
-
Yeah Kev, that's just bull, there's no reason to deny you your warranty claim on something that you've not actually modified or related to a modification. I'd either kick off or take your business somewhere else, like Jamie said, dealers get paid to do warranty work so not sure why they'd not do the work unless they've never dealt with modified cars before and are scared that Toyota won't pay them for it.
-
Nice write-up Geoff, glad your enjoying the mod, please do give us an update on how you get on with it at a later date once you've gotten used to it etc.

What is this MTEK Spring and where is it fitted?
-
Yeah but it's more entertaining watching you white folks doing it rather than myself....I'd just look like any other Asian dude joining in
-
I'm devastated I would have paid to see it

I'm pretty sure you can Ian, the link Dave posted shows the painted white bonnet without any bonnet catches.

Farewell meet for suggestable - Grasshopper 9th August 2pm
Keethos replied to suggestable's topic in Social Meets
Congrats Sarah, hope you post up pics of your office and stuff, I hear wonderful stories about Google work places etc. Only a suggestion but could we not join this with the Racing Sim / Window's Tint meet? If not, I'll try and make this Grasshopper meet anyways!
