Hi, I'm after a new spoiler, not really sure what I want right now so let me know what you have for sale budget of around £300. Thanks

Welcome! I live in Swindon and work in Chippenham, I'll keep an eye out for you, I've yet to see another 86 in chippenham and I've been working here for a year.
-
I'm after a few small bits, where are you located?

I Have 6 stock GT86 wheels for sale, 3 of them are in absolute perfection condition, one has slight surface corrosion, one has a bit of curbing and another has a dent (See pictures). Tyres: 4 of them have Nankang NS2R but they're all pretty shagged 2 of them have stock tyres but they're barely legal Also have 2 stock tyres not on the wheels I can chuck in for free so you can do some skids or something. May be willing to swap for other parts Looking for £150 Based in Swindon, Wiltshire

Would take £120 need them gone!

Looking to get these alloys - a second opinion?
GreenSpring replied to matrixprotein's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I actually just vinyl wrapped it as I thought the TRD ones were a bit too expensive for what they were, gloss black vinyl did the job with a similar result, TRD plastic is more of a flat black (The one i've seen in person at least) and I have a lot of gloss black highlights on my car so I think the vinyl works better for me anyway. It's quite an easy job to do, just run a line of knifeless tape along the body line, lay the wrap down and cut/tuck along the window. I'm sure a wrap place could do it cheap for you if you asked The Black fender garneshes were just off a black gt86, can't tell the colour difference between that and the wrap luckily. -

17x9 +35 rota grids fit pretty nice for me (May be a little different when I get rid of these awful stretched tyres they came with) -

Just paid for my ticket for the weekend racer club stand Looking forward to seeing you there, aren't usually many 86's at this event. -
Is remapping nessecary if installing uel header?
GreenSpring replied to Curtthrasher01's topic in Modifications
I ran mine for a while without having a remap. With the overpipe I did see slight performance gains (was pulling away a little from my friend's stock BRZ). I have an 02 sensor spacer on mine and didn't have a CEL for the month or so I ran it. I probably covered about 2k miles that month. Enjoyed it much more after a remap obviously. -
Hi, I'm after some coilovers. I daily drive my car and rarely use it on track so I'm not after anything too track focused. Let me know what you've got! Thanks
-
Found some now, thanks.

They're a bit out of my budget I'm afraid! Sorry I should have said I'm not looking to spend any more than £800

Hello, A while ago I posted about my gearbox having issues. I finally got my car into my local stealership (Toyota Fish Bros, Swindon) this morning and I got a phonecall this afternoon telling me they can't cover the gearbox under warrenty because I've made modifications to my exhaust and I don't have a catalic converter. This is nothing to do with the gearbox?! I was told when I bought the car that if the item with the issue was modified then it wouldn't be covered but otherwise it's covered. Am I wrong here? I'm going in either this evening or tomorrow to chat to them. Must keep my cool
-
This time it's gear 4, last time it was gear 6. Last time the car was completely stock and I'd had it for about 6-7 months, not done a track day or anything. It's a risky move but hopefully they'll honor it under warrenty.
-
I'm not quite sure how they're going to tell though! The problem is a damaged 4th gear synchro, surely they'd need to assess the entire assembly to make sure nothing is causing this to happen as it's in for the second time with the same issue!
-
That's what I'm worried about I did ask the dealer if I could take it to an independent for warrenty work and they told me no! Luckily the dealer themselves aren't the ones deciding if it's down to track use, they're sending detailed pictures to ToyotaGB apparently. So the same thing would happen with an independent, they'd need to show Toyota that it's not down to track use in order to get the money from them. Still time to change my mind and cancel the booking though.
-
Another Update: I contacted Toyota GB and they have got in touch with my dealer and have now agree'd to take apart my gearbox on the condition that I pay for the labour (£900) if they deem the damage due to my modifications/track use. Now I've had 1 track day, for 15 minutes and the issue was present way before that, they don't believe me when I say that but it's the truth! (So much for the customer is always right). I know myself that this issue was through no fault of mine so I booked it in for the 22nd. We'll see what happens...
-
That's some good information, thank you. It has been remapped, and they did check that.. However I had the same issue repaired prior to ANY modifications so that helps my case a little. I've literally been on a 15 minute track session about 2 weeks ago, that's it. I've spoken to Toyota GB and they're investigating for me so we'll see where it goes from here. I appreciate the detailed post.
-
Thanks guys, update on this.. Spoke to the warrenty person at the dealership and he's claiming that they also can't cover it because it's clearly seen a bit of time on track. I argued that the issue has happened before (they repaired it the first time when the car was stock) and there's clearly an underlying issue causing the gearbox to have more problems of the same nature. I've spoken to Toyota GB and they're going to contact me soon. I really don't want to be out of pocket over a broken synchro when I've done nothing to break it myself! Absolutely fuming

Around a year ago I had to take my 86 into the dealership to get repaired because every time I shifted into 6th, especially when higher revs, it made a horrible crunch sound and felt as bad as it sounded. They replaced the 6th gear synchro and everything was good until a few months ago it's started happening when shifting into 4th. Never been track driven, tried changing the oil to millers oil and seeing the same results. I have a service due so I'll see if I can get them to look at it then but I'm curious if anybody else has had this issue and if so, how did your dealership resolve it? New gearbox, new synchro? TIA

Crunching into gears - Warranty Issue
GreenSpring replied to GreenSpring's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I've done this and like you said, adjusted it so there is still a slight bit of dead travel just to ensure it's not always engaged (And yes, it definitely is a huge PITA for RHD cars haha). The 6th gear was crunching a bit even before I made the adjustments so it looks to have made no difference to the life of my synchros unfortunately They replaced all of them? From what they told me, they only replaced my 6th gear one. Have you had any problems with it since? It's horrible! Especially when downshifting, makes me cry hearing that noise! -
Think you might have replied in the wrong thread I don't own that headunit, just seen it posted!

Have a read through this thread, a few members have this and seem happy with it

Hi! So I had a happy little accident in my pearl white 86 today and I either need a bumper respray or another bumper. I have found a good condition front bumper from a blanco gt86 and I'm curious if it's the same pearl white paint, and are the stickers easily removable? Thanks!
