Is it true that uel manifolds encourage ringland fail?
Cerastes replied to Blameshift's topic in Mechanical
Yay join the rumble in the jungle gang. I still get compliments from people at work "your car sounds nice". -
Was told exactly the same, except about Equity Red Star; was told nothing about that; no idea what it even is. Just informed about adding modifications providing it doesn't affect power, and I already told them what was on the car and quoted me a price I was happy with. Policy doesn't start until 1st Oct, but I have filled in what I can on the website that I was sent through on the email and no one has contacted me back about a change in price so it must be ok. I just need to fill in the mileage at start of policy but I can't do that until 1st Oct.

I would have thought so, Impreza's had UEL boxer engines for years?? and were incredibly reliable as far as I know; they were used in rallying etc? Can't be that bad can it? -
Changed my reverse lockout, hated the plastic feel. Also got something similar to Nelix. Changed the air con dials. Also put a leather cover on the gauge hood, although it is starting to come undone as the glue I used ran out . So will probably take it off and get it hydrodipped in carbon one day.

Same, thanks @Lucas@PartBox. Even sent me a black rubber cap for my coilovers as 1 of mine disappeared in transit; also Thanks to Tein for agreeing to send it. Now my OCD will be under control... as will my body roll.

I don't think that would matter unless you are running it non stop on a track. For me that drives it 2-3 miles to work, and then 2-3 miles back; the occasional long drive to a car show isn't going to affect it, surely. -

The guy in the video is talking about boost, I don't have that. I'm safe? Well I have a Boost chocolate bar, not the same thing though. -

I haven't watched all that video yet but not sure why it would affect UEL and not EL? -
They seem to be doing ok for me; no hurdles... yet. Shouldn't be a problem to fit for them either. Hopefully the part arrives soon.

No idea what that is, sounds like something sexual. Bit worrying as I have UEL. -
@nikndel Ops I thought I replied to this. I went to Steven eagell in St Albans, getting new part delivered and fitted at Steven eagell Watford.

Just had to call Steven Eagell as I hadn't heard anything. They are waiting on a new part to come in and it will be changed.

That's ok, they wouldn't have fit on mine. Edit: Don't post anymore stuff for a few months, I need to save money -
These?

I have most of those mods already . Hydrodipped CF TRD aero fins (as the real CF was double the price), Smoked side indicators, rear diffuser bought from aliexpress CF effect even though it was advertised as CF, bonnet struts, mud guards already installed and valenti lights and shark fin antenna, interior changes too. Getting tyres when the stocks tyres have worn out; feels like I have been saying that for ages. Although I don't know if most of that will be compatible with the new GT86. I have looked for ages at body kits but although yes they look good, I can't see the benefits day to day. My brother has put a bodykit on his 350z and it is a pain having to jack the car up as the Jack won't fit under it so we have to drive it onto wooden planks and then slide it underneath. Plus you have all the pain of getting it fitted properly etc.... but they do look good I still have a few favourites bookmarked lol.

I think I might have posted this before. Seems independent so might be a reliable review.

[Europe] Good exhaust note for less than 700€? Or something else?
Cerastes replied to Blameshift's topic in Modifications
It's up to you , but you have options; just think about it as it can cost more if you rush into something. It's also personal taste, you might like a really loud exhaust? or you might like something that is discreet at low revs and louder at higher revs. As far as I know, the cheapest manifold would be tomei... oh no it's not it would be the cobra manifold which is about £600. -

I think they range from £800-£1500; I believe the £ is quite similar to € these days so roughly about the same. Map's would cost about € 500/600 as you have to purchase a license first. Could always keep an eye on 2nd hand market. -

As others have said, a manifold is worth while even if it does cost a lot. If you don't have the money, go for a resonated catback and then save up for a manifold later; otherwise it will be really loud without a resonated catback. You will likely need to remap with ecutek after the manifold which again costs a lot; but it also brings benefits. Have you tried looking on ebay for your country? Not sure where you are but might be worth a try? I was able to get the avo catback for less than £300. -
Congratulations, can't wait to see some more pics and see what you plan for it. Hopefully see you at some car shows/meets too.

Completely agree and happy birthday for last month. Just couple points for Nemesis, as I said it may cost more as Aero's are not made anymore but will probably be cheaper than buying a body kit and getting it fitted. If you did buy an aero your not quite as unique as if you bought a 3rd party body kit like a modellista or Grazio (not seen anything like that on public roads or car shows... yet); but you are more unique compared to some of us with regular GT86's. Just had a thought, are there any new TRD or Aero type GT86's with the new 2017- GT86?

Cerastes replied to Lucas's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
I'll probably take one too. Just order the normal way through that link? I noticed there a free shipping for cosworth filter. I know what will happen, I will forget I have it and go to order another when its service time/needs changing.
