Hell yes! Last year's event was amazing! Please count me in :-)

Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy a second GT86 in the next few months. Is anyone aware of a dealer who would be willing to work with Fensport to supply me with a pre-modified warrantied car? I'd want a used vehicle of the following specs: Pearl white AUTO, Red/black leather/Alcantara interior, Black carbon-effect vinyl roof wrap, Black carbon fibre bonnet, Black carbon fibre boot lid and spoiler, Stage 3 AVO turbo kit from Fensport, Ecutek tuning (with "performance", "regular" and "eco" maps), Nice, loud exhaust. I've driven Dave's car and have seen and heard Chris' car. Both were modified by Fensport with the stage 3 AVO turbo kit. I was extremely impressed by both. I'll be travelling 20k+ miles per year (mostly business mileage) and was impressed to hear that Chris manages to average 25.5mpg on the eco map. The only reason I want to go via a dealer is to allow the whole thing to be financed on one HP agreement. Depending on how the figures work out, though, I may need to hold off on the turbo work. I'd still want the remaps, carbon parts and exhaust mods, even if I find I cannot afford the turbo at the same time as buying the car. I've seen some similar-spec cars available on the Toyota Used Cars website listings, but they either come with cloth or black leather interiors. There's something about the red/black interior that draws me to it every time... I don't want Touch & Go. I'll be completing a full audio install at some point and don't fancy the idea of shelling out lots of money for an underspecced OEM system that I'll rip out anyway. The JBL system does not appeal. What I'd *really* like is a GT86 Cabriolet, but these are still apparently a long way off... Any ideas? Sarah

What an amazing night that turned out to be! I went to the Kream Paul Walker Tribute Cruise last night, which was a disaster. We were meant to meet up in East London around 6pm. We didn't actually leave the meet point until 9:40pm, by which point I'd been there for 5h20m (I arrived *really* early!) and was rather bored (and in need of a "comfort break" - and there were no toilets nearby!). When we finally left, we convoyed through to central London, then hit a massive traffic jam caused by an accident (unrelated to the cruise, thankfully!) and had to make a major detour. By the time we got to the final meet point (Battersea Park) we found it had closed. The Facebook event page was hardly ever updated... and when it was it was people complaining about the poor organisation. After circling around parts of central London I gave up and went home. If I hadn't had the fortune of having a passenger/navigator with me, I'd have given up long before I did. Hopefully the next cruise I attend will be better-run and there won't be as much frustration. At the end of the day, I left with some happy memories and a cool decal for my car as a tribute to Paul Walker. I had to clean part of the bonnet to apply it and only realised just how dirty my bonnet was *after* I had rubbed off the dirt and polished the area with my sleeve. It'll wash out, so I'm not that peeved, but I had no idea just how dirty the car was... yay for driving a black car!

Hertfordshire Meet/Drive/Eat or Drink - Sunday 26th Jan 2014

Sorry I couldn't make it today. I sent Faith a text message when I woke up, which was far too late to allow me to get there in time. I was out with the Kream Paul Walker Tribute Cruise event last night, which meant I didn't get home until 2am and didn't manage to get to sleep until about 3:30am. When I finally woke up, it was already too late to make it down in time :-( I'm glad you all had a good time. Hopefully by the next event I'll be a proud owner once again. See you all soon. Sarah -
Looking to buy a modified car... from a dealer.

Thank you for all the feedback guys. I really can't wait to get back into ownership! I think the best plan would be to get a used GT86 in the colour I want with an auto box. The black interior would probably look quite good with the white car and there's no way I'd accept cloth seats... Once I've got the car I should look at getting the turbo conversion done later down the line. I'd like to get the exhaust replaced ASAP and am so far rather impressed with the Millteks I've heard. However, Chris has an amazing exhaust on his car... Getting a bank loan to finance it may not be such a bad idea and I think, based on my present credit status, I should be able to get a very good rate. Buying on HP may not be the best idea, simply because I think it actually works out slightly more expensive overall. I won't do anything until I've got at least £3-4k for a deposit. When I factored the deposit into the Toyota website's finance calculator, it seemed to make very little difference to the overall cost of the car. Even putting a £9.5k deposit down didn't really affect the figures to an appreciable degree... so... I will likely have the deposit money available and use it if will make a difference. Buying with a bank loan would mean I would pay less interest if I used the deposit, so this may be the way to go. I've seen some cracking cars online for around £22-24k, in white with auto boxes. Keith: I could never part you from your pride and joy. Also... with your car's history, would it not make insurance more expensive? I've already reached out to a couple of owners who are looking to sell their cars and would obviously prefer to buy direct from someone and cut out the dealer's involvement, thus benefiting both parties. One person has over 13k miles on their car. This doesn't put me off provided the price is right and the car's been well cared-for (which in this case, seems to be true). I'll be looking to buy the car around April/May (or earlier, if my job situation changes sooner than anticipated). Based on current expectations, I should be able to repay the entirety of the loan within 18 months, which will save me a small fortune in interest payments. If anybody is aware of someone selling a GT86 with an auto box (colours in order of preference are: white, silver, black, orange, red - but if it was black or red it would need to have the red interior pack), please let me know so I can reach out to them. I'm likely to get the turbo financed after I've repaid the loan for the car (and during that time I'd benefit from the higher MPG of the NA car), so there's no immediate rush for this. I really just want the awesome-looking car tastefully modified to my own wishes, which is something I could not afford to do properly in the past. Thank you again for all the feedback. Please keep ideas coming! Sarah -

Provided I'm still in one piece after the Colchester Cruise (I'll be going to that tomorrow), then I'm in. I look forward to seeing you all there. Sarah -
Spotted this on the MX-5 Owners Club forum. Seems like they have a nice collection of good driving roads. Any chance we can put together a similar set of pages/maps for this club? http://mx5oc.co.uk/forum/yaf_postst2413_MX-5-OC-Driving-Roads-Map.aspx Sarah

Better late than never... HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEITH!
-
So... the big question... How much faster is it with the giant wing?
-
Rob: Couldn't you keep the ice scrapers in the boot? That's easier to get to than keeping them indoors. :-)

I agree Keethos, As a lifelong supporter of PC gaming, the chips chosen for the XB1 and PS4 sadden me. To put it in perspective, the chips (APU - CPU and GPU combined) chosen for both consoles are expected to retail for less than £130 each. This also makes me question how much profit M$ is making on each console, considering they likely get each and every component for less than retail... I have a blindingly quick gaming PC. I may get a One at some point (mainly for FM5), but I will certainly not be an early adopter. Happy to share my PC specs if this is of interest. Sarah

Was this the car with the crazy wing? If so, it's mental.

Looks shiny, but shame about the colour choice. You're right... gold is horrible!

Hey all, As some of you already know, I sold my Red baby back in September. If anyone spots her on the road, please post here and let me know. I sold her to Currie Motors Kingston, so the Motorline Horsham number plates may be replaced by them prior to re-sale. If the new owner happens to be a member here or elsewhere, please send them my way as I still have some of the paperwork/history that may be of interest to them. Sarah

Damn right! Thank you so much for that. Your car is incredible! Definitely gave me the "I must have another GT86/BRZ" bug. Any time you happen to be down in south/south-east England with the car, give me a shout ;-) I'm moving from SW London to Reading in a few weeks and I'll be at the Christmas bash in Leicestershire and the one at the Grasshopper, too. I needed to buy a house. Sometimes one has to choose between one's abode and one's toys. Doesn't mean I don't really, really, really want another one though... -
Just seen this Keith. Welcome back! It was a shame you weren't at the Karting day yesterday, but I'm sure you had fun at Spa. I look forward to seeing you on the 14th at the Christmas do. Sarah

Hi all, I am reluctantly having to sell my Shiny Red Thing due to buying a house and needing the money to cover the mortgage. I'm asking £23k OVNO for the car. It's in Richmond, SW London. For the full set of photos, please go >here< It's a 62-plate car, first registered 31/1/2013 and has done ~15k miles since new. It's had its first (10k) service and has been looked after properly at all times. It has the following options above the base specification: Red/Black Alcantara/Leather heated seats, Red interior pack, Satellite Navigation, Mud flaps front and back, Rear parking sensors, Protective films in the recess behind the door handles, Protective film on the rear bumper to avoid scratches from moving luggage, LED foglights, GT86-branded car mats (Toyota OEM). I'd rather sell it directly to a new owner than to a dealer so that the new owner benefits from the low price. There is currently finance on the car, but the sale price will clear the finance. I therefore request that the new owner pays the finance company directly (Toyota Financial Services) to avoid any hassles. Any questions, please post them here or PM me. Thanks for looking! --suggestable
