Just noticed that TunedUKs new site is up, and they’ve got a sale on their springs - £141. Worth a trip up there just to see the garage and watch Rich do an alignment. 👍🏻 https://www.tuneduk.com/limited-edition-eibach-lowering-suspension-springs-kit-fits-gt86-40-38159-p.asp /edit - found the link:

Just a couple of things - probably a typo, but the springs are -40mm, not 50. Also there's different bump stops in that kit.
-
No worries - provisionally sold
-
Used for 500 miles, looks like new. I didn't get on with it so I had it taken out. It did help with the second gear issue I was having though. £20 Based in Stoke, happy for a collection or postage at your cost.

1 finger. 18"x8 on 225/40/18. 40mm TunedUK springs, but the 18's raise it up 5mm or so. Ride quality is firm but not painful, not had issues with hitting the bump stops which surprised me.
-
Awesome, they'll be available for when his current lease runs out then. Cheers bud

I thought the same to be honest, then I had a test ride in an '86 with TunedUK's 40mm springs on. I was surprised to say the least, they offer the looks and a fair proportion of the handling improvements at a much lower price. They're a specific design for our cars and have had a lot of time put into them, and the designer Rich knows a thing or two about suspension given he's looking after that aspect of two BTCC privateer teams this year. I wouldn't write off springs entirely - on a forum everyone is going to say what they did is 'best'. It's self justification at its finest, so take any suggestions with a pinch of salt.

As above, if anyone has some let me know

Great stuff. Never used Android (been using Apple since their first phone) so I've never really known that much about these sorts of units. I like the fact it fits well without an adapter plate. Which adapters did you need for OEM GPS and USB?

Cracking day - loads of serious metal and a good showing of 86's - I think we had 6 at one point, more than any other car. -

Fairly cheap? In terms of outright cost, yes - but in terms of value I disagree. They're a small piece of plastic and a couple of LEDs. It's all import tax and duty, for other cars I think similar repeaters cost about 15 quid. I don't expect to come across any second hand, but you never know and if you don't put it out there you'll never know. Might be someone putting their car back to stock who has some kicking about
-
Car looked lovely today mate, sits really well. Love that spoiler too. Bonus points for the custom bonnet 😂 Let me know if you come across some smoked repeaters too, will defo have those off you 👍🏻

Thanks The wheels were luck - I’d been looking for a very, very long time. In the end I came across someone selling a car with them on. The intention was to buy the car, but he sold me the wheels separately. I had to spend some money on refurbing, spigots and nuts but it was worth it
-
Any idea when this is available Richard? My brother in law is test driving an 86 today, but I've told him to consider this rather than the Orange...

Turns out that the springs and wheels haven't completely tamed the rear end. On the way home last night it had rained a little bit leading to a lovely tail wag whilst getting onto the M6.

Just pushing this up to the top as a reminder, it's this Saturday coming. I will be going, but probably not arriving until at least midday - leave me a space next to the 86's guys Also looks like they're putting a hog roast on instead of pizza too. Winning! -
It’s due a service in about a months time mate, something to look at then unless it starts getting worse. I’ve got a list of things to be looked at 😂
-
For the last couple of months or so (but with increasing regularity) I've noticed a slight judder when pulling away. It feels like it's coming from the back of the car, and it especially noticeable when turning out of a T junction or similar. It doesn't feel 'bad' as such, but it's becoming more obvious. Car had diff oil changed at last service and it's coming up to 50k miles. Is this the LSD just doing its thing and getting old or is something starting to die? Anyone else come across this? Ta

18x8 225/40/R18 V105S. But, it did it before the big 'change' the other week - in fact on the drive to TunedUK, Mark and I took some proper back roads which involved lots of T junctions and it was doing it then. Church - alignment is fine, was done only a couple of weeks ago by Rich at TunedUK. Tyre pressures should be OK, 35psi all round, again checked just prior to fitment a couple of weeks ago. I'll check them again though just in case

Awesome. Sounds like a swarm of angry bees!

One for @Tuned UK I guess. As for knowing the rates - guess that's the difference between you and most people though, (meant in a complimentary way)! Part of the appeal for me is knowing that someone who knows a LOT more about suspension has done all the hard work researching the setup. I worry that if I'd gone with coilovers I'd never get it working right because there's so many variables to play with. Having felt Tuned's springs in Mark's car I was happy enough - the specifics of rate wasn't that important because I'm not Lewis Hamilton, and I'm the first to admit it!
-
Not sure of the exact rate, it's Tuned's own design and I'm sure they'll likely be wanting to keep specifics to themselves. They're designed for the OEM dampers yes and no, I didn't have other springs on before hand. Had Eibach 25mm ready to go on, but ended up having these off Mark after being so impressed with them. Mark's arguably the better guy to vouch for them since he's had more suspension work done to his 86 than me.
-
Bit of an old thread I know but I currently have a set of these springs on my car and I've been super impressed with them. I was sceptical initially thinking that they would be too low and be crashy, but @Mark-in-Stoke had a set on as a temporary measure whilst his Ohlins were being resprung and on a passenger ride I was blown away by their quality. The set up for fast road work is absolutely superb, and combined with Rich's expertise on alignment and set up I really think this is a great way to get the car looking and driving well for very little outlay. Well worth considering!

Car is relearning your throttle positions/calibration and various other factors. It'll settle down by itself in time.
