  1. Spotted again this morning SB at J10.
  2. Stuck in traffic this morning. Did look over to give you a wave but you were in a happy place..

  4. Supra just got formally announced!
  5. You don't have to - if you want PC hardware discount then yes. Otherwise I'll just give an indication of numbers to OcUK closer to the date.
  6. So the event went ahead and despite the weather was a good turn out. Lots of tasty metal on show but you didn't want to stay outside for long to look at it! So OcUK are up for doing it again, on the 12th May. Same deal as before - will post a new thread.
  7. Another forum I’m active on is holding a car meet. Loads of different cars going, free pizza, discounts on computer hardware, people offering passenger rides, VR racing and other stuff. Looking like a decent day out πŸ‘πŸ» https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/ocuk-hq-motors-meet-saturday-3rd-march-2018.18810409/ All being well I’ll be showing face at one point if anyone else fancies it Location: OcUK HQ, Milehouse Lane, Newcastle Under Lyme. ST5 9BT /edit: I know I don't need to post this since we're not children but since it's been posted on the other forum I think it's only right to copy it over as well. IMPORTANT - RULES OF CONDUCT! Due to laws in Stoke, this event is a park up event and come in our store or hang about chatting to other fellow members, both in store and out of store. If any members start racing on our private land, revving their exhaust obnoxiously the Police will be forced to attend and clear you all off. As such respect the rules off: 1. Park up, engine off 2. Any revving, minimal, no bouncing of limiters or crazy popping and banging. 3. Strictly obey the 5mph speed limit at all times when entering the business park. 4. Most importantly ALL GET ALONG! Anyone breaks the rules will be ask to leave, if Police need to attend, the store event will finish. Enjoy the event for what it is, showing your car off and having polite discussion with other fellow car enthusiast and to check out the OcUK store and Autobrite cleaning product range. Confirmed: 1. @Lowe 2. @Lucas@PartBox 3. @S18 RSG 4. @Mark-in-Stoke

    Long time lurker...hello!

Another OcUKer here. Just got back from the meet they organised
  9. So yeah, it snowed, d’oh! It’s still going ahead though obviously the numbers are going to be significantly lower I think it’s unrealistic unless you’re a local. If you still want to show face it’s being suggested to arrive around Midday and to allow plenty of time for travel. Another event where hopefully the weather doesn’t throw a spanner in the works is being organised for the 12th May, will post a new thread closer to the day.

    Lowe's Team Grey

Yesterday, I had a surprising message off the TPIC shop on Aliexpress who sold me the poorly shaped carbon trim for the drivers door switch panel. For some reason they'd not been able to see my messages asking for help, were very apologetic and have acknowledged there was an issue with fitment. The RHD trim has been redesigned and they're going to contact me once available so I can order one and replace the bodged whitetak fitment I have at the moment!

So as per my other posts I did a test fitment the other week since I wasn't sure if these CE28's were the right bolt pattern. I whipped off the front wheel and to my relief they fitted without issue. The offset looked OK too, near enough flush with the arch, but I guess once the lowering springs go on and a bit of camber is dialled in this will push in the top end a bit. So they got sent off for refurb - I specified wet spray rather than powder coat due to concerns of the forged aluminium annealing under the oven heat. Having had a wheel crack before, I didn't fancy repeating the experience! They came back on Saturday morning, and I'm super pleased with the result! Metallic black - the flake is super subtle under diffused light but when the sun hits it looks incredible - much like 61k grey, so in keeping with the rest of the car. I gave them a good clean up and then got to work with the decals and centre caps. Seriously can NOT wait to get the rest of the car done. But will have to, I'm now broke.

Need spigots and nuts. Standards don’t fit Rays. Also, it’d look bloody stupid on stock suspension 😳

    In Phase XTC

By the time you've done all of that, you're probably not far off just buying the Focal components which are actually designed to be straight swaps for our car. Probably better off with that tbh..

Yeah, it's such a huge difference - can't believe the gel hasn't fallen out though, I've even pressure washed it several times haha!

Right then, now this threads back open I best update it. My wife is a legend and bought me a Cobra resonated cat back for Christmas. I'd been waiting to sort insurance before putting it on, and now that's sorted it was time to get on with the install. Props to Chris Knott Insurance for making no extra charge for adding the exhaust, that was a pleasant surprise. So the car went on the ramp and I was anticipating the OEM exhaust to be a troublesome so and so to remove. To my surprise it came away easily, and it wasn't long before we'd got the Cobra in its place. The fit was absolutely spot on with no adjustments needed at all; I'd say the whole thing was done in 40-45 minutes. First fire up was lovely. Not too loud but a definite change to the exhaust note. Much bassier, with a little bit of pop on over run. It's much better now it's coked up and settled in, far quieter, though cold starts are still a bit fruity and not so good for my neighbours! Motorway journeys aren't uncomfortable despite the slight increase in noise. I do wish there was a little bit more snarl to the note from the cabin, but on balance I think it's a good compromise between being OTT and too quiet. Noticed a bit more urgency throughout the rev range, especially at the low end but I wouldn't say it's added a load of power. Couple of extra brake always helps though. Also since where I work we have a theatre space, we have coloured gels for putting in the stage lights. I came across some unusual gel offcuts in that it was a 'smoke' colour. So, I took a piece and offered it up to the reverse/fog light to see what it would look like. Much better. To my surprise despite not being held in place with any adhesive it's not moved and doesn't look like it's going to fall out any time soon either. If it does though I know that I definitely need to get it tinted, I think it looks much better. In other news, my CE28's have been sent off for refurb/respray. I managed to pick up some fresh stickers and cheap centre caps off Aliexpress for when they come back (hopefully tomorrow) and picked up some temporary rubber off another forum user. Just need to double check the bore measurements and then order some spigots and nuts from @Lucas@PartBox and then I can think about getting the springs swapped, wheels put on, camber bolts in and getting the alignment done. It's slowly getting there.
  21. By all means rock up, I'll just be trying to give them an idea for food and whatnot - there's plenty of space there though, it's not like you wouldn't get in.
  22. Any confirmations? I best let OcUK know how many are coming see. Have a think and let me know please

    Your Fuel Economy?

Totally depends how you drive and how fast. At an indicated 60-65 I get 40-45mpg on the M6 - generally can't go much quicker on my commute which is about 35 miles each way. If I slipstream lorries on cruise on the inside lane I can crack 50mpg.
  24. Christ, I was like is the camera looking the wrong way? πŸ˜‚ Damn that’s bonkers loud! πŸ‘πŸ»
