  1. Difficult to put an exact figure on it since most of the time when it's super cold is during my commute. Given I live so close to the motorway the car hasn't warmed up full before I hit the M6 and by then I'm in 6th and cruising anyway so the issue is moot. I just accept it as part of the cars character to be honest, and since I'm always expecting it I can live with it.
  2. Mine's an absolute t**t when it's very cold (like now). I've had times where I've pulled off from traffic lights and been unable to select 2nd at all, virtually stalling because I've had to jump to 3rd. The only way is to fully de-clutch, neutral, try to reselect. I've got to the point now where before I start off, I go between first and second with the engine off to try and align everything up to make it a bit easier once everything's running.

Post your GT86 / BRZ pic of day!

Tinted back end. Need to make the reverse light tint permanent and get the windows done to finish that part of the look off but mostly happy for now. Carbon TRD spoiler needed I think...
  4. So earlier today on parking up I went to get my phone out of the centre box. As I opened the lid it came off in my hand. Luckily it seems to be a fairly simple fix, so I thought I'd share in case it happens to anyone else. There's two pins which act as the hinge, and in my case one had come off and fallen inside the lid itself. Right hand side has the hinge pin in place. Left one is missing. Turn the lid upside down. You'll see 6 screw caps - use a flat bladed screw driver or similar to pop these off. Under neath you'll find allen bolts holding the lid together. Undo them all and hopefully you'll find the lost pin inside. The pin itself is split, so it expands along its length and holds itself in place. Put it back in so that the expanded end is inside the lid. Put the lid back in the car and then reassemble. Easy
  5. Whiteline. I honestly just think it's a quirk of my particular car since as I say - when the bush was removed it was still noisy.
  6. Just one thing to note, the void insert made my car ridiculously noisy. I'm not talking a little bit noisier, I mean full on touring car style gearbox whine. I think mine was a bit unusual - I say that because when it was removed, I still had the noise and needed the gearbox slackening off and its position reset. I've still got the bush in the boot, not going to rush to fit that again haha!
  7. If not rural driving it tends to be people squeezing between past your car in car parks and they have a coat with a zip etc that drags along the paint. Or a handbag... Drives me up the wall. My car got driven in to the other day, has left a small scuff on the rear bumper - need to get the DA on that...
  8. Was good times bud, showing our age a bit though haha! Still play yeah, not so much CS though - mostly BF1... and we're going waaaaay OT. Drop me a PM or summat
  9. Looks like this is starting to blow up a bit... Autobrite Direct are bringing a van full of goodies and some of their cars down, and Red Bull might be showing face too.
  10. Yes mate, we played rather a lot Pee, Stu, Ted, Bain etc... All about the Fish!
  11. There's a huge car following on OcUK, always has been. They've done a few meets before now, mostly at rolling road days.
  12. Probably best to express interest in here and then I'll let the guys at OcUK know how many we are expecting to bring along

    Possible new 86 owner Staffordshire

Welcome. Lots of 86 and BRZ owners in Staffs. Whereabouts are you based? Bet there’s someone close if you want a good look around one, and there’s informal monthly meets in Stoke too

    Best catback exhaust

Gotta be honest, videos are a useless way to compare. There's too many variables in recorded sound which can drastically alter the tone - I say this as a sound engineer, so have a better understanding than most in this regard. Best way is judge is to attend a meet and listen to a few in person.

    Best catback exhaust

I recently put a Cobra resonated on mine. Now it's coked up and settled in I think it's a great compromise. It's obviously noiser than OEM, but that's mostly due to the extra throatiness in the sound. On the motorway you'd be forgiven for thinking it was standard. Cold start up is ridiculously noisy, but I've found that driving off the instant the revs subside after firing up kills the cold start program. Ideally I want it removing longer term though, bet the neighbours aren't best pleased when I leave for work at 6.30am :/

    TD Catback exhaust group Buy?

That's what made me go with the Cobra in the end, don't like straight cut
  18. Argh, why this time of year when I’m broke! 😂

Rims for days - sizes, offsets and widths

18's (hell any aftermarket wheels) look a bit weird if you're on stock suspension. I'm going to put 18x8 with the same size tyres that you suggest but will be lowering 25mm to match.
  21. I’ve not got one. Richard pointed that out on my last service, I thought it was in the pack but it wasn’t.

    Squeaky windows

Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed my windows (drivers especially) getting really squeaky. I've also noticed two lines appearing on the glass when wet. Is this the onset of the dreaded window runner issue?

    Squeaky windows

I'll give everything a good clean over the weekend and see if the glass is marked - cheers

    Squeaky windows

Managed to get some pictures - both windows have the lines. Difficult to take photos of it, so have highlighted it incase it's not obvious.
