Thanks for the replies. I'm about 20 pages through the 280 page JR thread on FT86Club so still got a way to go! Interestingly it seems JR have developed a SC upgrade into their package - the Rotrex C38. Seems it makes better power top end but less so lower down than the C30. http://blog.vittuned.com/jackson-racing-supercharger-on-the-ft-86-fr-sbrz/ Found this comparison too which is quite interesting. (Not sure if this is common knowledge but the Innovate is the US name for the Sprintex apparently). Seems the KW kit came top with JR close behind - makes sense as they use the same SC. The thing that worries me the most is what the tester says about the charge air temps raising after a few runs on the dyno. As I be tracking the car this is a bit of a concern. I will ask about this when I email JR. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61589# @S18 RSG That price is insanely good! Even if they gave you the SC for free they would still be knocking money off the RRP and fitting it! Definitely don't think I'll be able to get anywhere close to that but I think TTS would knock 10% off quite easily. The more I read about centrifugal the more I think it's what would suit me best. I will try to get some passenger rides from some nice people with different setups though to see how they all feel. Back to researching James

Yeah I think you're right. There must be a reason most of the kits make around that power. Really? I thought US fuel was meant to be crap? Didn't expect it to be equal to our super premium stuff. Isn't Vpower meant to be 99 octane? Thanks for the link. I have read through a big JR thread but can't remember if it was that one! Will have another look. I think centrifugal will be right for me, though I don't have any experience whatsoever with any type of supercharger! I do like top end power though and love to rev out my Clio so I'd want to keep that style of driving i.e. I'm not interested in going fast while shifting at 5k, I'd much rather have to work to get the most out of it at 7.5k I hadn't really considered Lichfield anyway for some reason though I do love the wheels on their car! TSW Nurburgring I think. I think I will have to contact JR or TTS directly to understand what's possible with the high boost pulley and upgraded charger on Vpower. I'll also do some forum research on the Kraftworks and HKS kits. James

Thanks for all the warm welcomes I don't think I'll be able to make the meet on Saturday unfortunately. Hopefully the next one though! @chris_9011 Surprised I haven't already seen you around. I actually live 10mins down the road in Wellesbourne but go to the gym most days in Stratford. Thanks for the offer, it'd be great to meet up for a chat and see what a supercharged 86 feels like. Will have to arrange something soon. Which kit do you have? James

Hi all, I've been researching supercharger options for a while now, mainly the Jackson Racing kit and also the high boost pulley option for it. The majority of information I've found is from the US and to be honest their power figures totally confuse me! They seem to quote wheel horsepower which I guess should mean lower figures than we're used to over here (as we quote crank hp) especially as they normally use 91 or 94 octane fuel. But then a lot use E85 which bumps the power up massively! Does anyone here have / know anyone that has a Jackson Racing supercharger in the UK? And of those people, is anyone running the high boost pulley? Interested to understand what's possible/realistic with high octane UK fuel (e.g. Vpower). Thought I'd ask here before contacting JR or TTS. Thanks, James

Hi guys! I'm James and I'm from the midlands. I currently own a Clio 200 (a proper one, not the new turbo) and I absolutely love it. I've had it about three and a half years now and still look forward to driving it every day Hopefully some pics below if the links work. I've been looking for a weekend/track/project car for a while now and after originally setting my heart on an S2000, I eventually talked myself out of it - questionable handling and no stability control on cheaper examples. Finally decided on a GT86 and although I haven't got one yet I'm actively looking and waiting for the right one at the right price. The plan would be to tinker and supercharge - probably the Jackson Racing kit but I'll start another thread about that as I have some questions about it and the high boost pulley. I'd also love to have a passenger ride in a supercharged 86/BRZ so if anyone in the midlands area has one and is feeling generous let me know Anyway I will keep searching Autotrader and will hopefully join the fold soon!
