A little bit of maintenance and a cheeky cosmetic mod. Firstly the car came with some Apollo Aspire 4Gs on the front axle, I wasn't blow away by their wet performance and they seemed to lose pressure for fun, so I decided to treat her right and put some lovely fresh rubber on all round. I must apologise for the green dust caps, apparently ATS think that's an ok thing to do. I ran the MPSS on my 350z but as they are being consigned to history I decided to try these instead. So far so good and I can confirm there is definitely no more release agent on the rears On to more frivolous pursuits, I've had my pipe blocked for some time now (ooohh and indeed errr) so it felt right to do away with this lot and add some lightness. Everything still runs fine, so I guess it really doesn't do anything other than make a noise. I was just going to leave a hole in the intake pipe and just run the car like a boss, but in the end I decided to add even more lightness and some purple too. Just need to find some more purple... PS - Anyone else found the Samco intake pipe to be a bit of PITA to fit? It just didn't want to play with the airbox end, so I swore at it until it did.

Great pics, that R34 in Bayside Blue ❤️

Perfectly normal, me too.

Photobucket have very recently got the hump with external displays of the images they host, unless you're a paying member (on the top $499 PA deal). Imgur is similar and currently still allows 3rd party action, for FREE.

For Sale: 2x Michelin Primacy 3 Tyres - 215/45/17
Stutopia posted a topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Hi, I've just popped four shiny new Pilot Sport 4s on the BRZ to replace the mixed rubber from the PO, this means I have two Michelin Primacy 3s up for sale. These are 215/45/17s and have 6mm left. They are in good nick all round, as you can see from the photos. I'm after £90 collected from Blackpool or £110 shipped, in mainland UK. Mods: I hope i've met the For Sale rules, but if not, please point me in the direction, ta. -

Round 3 Teaser Video of the British Drift Championship - Tarmac Sportz

Cool as ****. Love this 350z. -
I had four car park style side dings, one on the roof and one on the bonnet that all needed attention. I called up Mark at DentGo a couple of weeks ago and he's just been round to do the job. Being an idiot, I forgot to take before photos, but I think the afters speak for themselves. There was a 5" crease in the roof, not deep but noticeable enough when you were within a couple of feet of it. The red line is where the crease was.The bonnet had a small round dent, no idea what from, it looked kinda of like a golf ball or similar sized solid object had hit it. All gone. The driver's door had three dings, I was going to try and mark them up, but you can see from the reflection that there's not much there There was another one in the driver's side door sill, Mark wasn't able to get a tool on it without drilling a hole (which I wasn't keen on) so he could only pull it from the outside instead of working from behind too. It's about 90% gone and looks much better. I've no doubt he could have got it perfect if I'd chosen to have a small hole in the door jam (which he was going to plug with a small grommet). As you can see, excellent work all round. £95 for 6 dents and he also gave me some pointers on how to work them myself in future. If you need dents sorting in the North West, I'd strongly advise you to give Mark a bell, top service.http://www.dentgo.co.uk

Ouch, that sucks. None of mine broke the paint thankfully. I did scuff an alloy on my previous car, really badly, and a chipsaway guy did a flawless "smart repair" on a not easy to match colour for £50. I'd recommend them but, the thing is, with it being a franchise network, you never really know how good your operative will be until you take the plunge.

Welcome! Looks great in gloss black 👍🏼

Oz racing wheels for sale ultraleggera superleggera
Stutopia replied to jevvy's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Sorry for the wheel novice questions: You've described 3 sets of wheels, one of which is a set of 5, but there's only 9 pictured? The title mentions ultras but the description only talks about supers? Last but not least, do you have any close up pics of the damage/kerbing? Ta -
I could only find red On the plus side, it's easy to spot

Cheeky little one today. The belt covers on the AC and alternator have never really floated my boat. Accordingly I picked up a Grimmspeed aux belt cover a while back, which not only provides a neat tray upon which you can rest tools. It also looks rather smart, if I do say so myself. I think the sound generator might be next on my list of things I can live without in the engine bay.

If I'd had the car from new, a UV protector would have been one of the first things I'd put on, sadly the UV damage was already when I bought it. I could have just applied a UV protector, but that would have just protected the greyness, rather than dye it black. It's got a layer of UV protection on it, now the solution finish has fully cured.

When I bought the BRZ the scuttle was looking tired and grey, not the deep black it should be. In the past I've restored trim with a variety of products, mainly Gtechniq C4 but also some other samples, Nanolex and Poorboys spring to mind. These are fine if you want to "restore" the trim, and it's still in good nick, but not so good if you actually want to do more and effectively "dye" trim blacker. This is where Solution Finish Black Trim restorer comes in. I got a sample tube of this lying around from an old Waxybox and decided to have a go at the BRZ. I thought I'd post it up on here because we've got a fair bit of black plastic trim on the car, the front bumper, the rear diffuser as well as the scuttle in question. As you can see below, it was already a nasty patchy grey (it's a 2013, so it's not like it's seen that much sun in the UK!).Sadly I dropped and spilt the sample tube after only a few inches of work, but it was going fine up to then, so I ordered some from cleanyourcar to do things properly.£14.95 for a small bottle, not exactly cheap, but it does go far. I started by cleaning the trim and then wiped down with Gyeon Prep. The instructions make this stuff sound pretty potent, it warns it will stain paint if you're not careful. I did catch the paint once or twice, it wiped off easily with a MF towel after sitting for only a few seconds. As you can see, it's a nice, deep, inky black. Application is simple. After cleaning prep, get a clean applicator you don't mind chucking away, tip a little on, work the trim area. It says that it should then be left for 1-2 minutes before wiping off. For some reason I was expecting this to flash quite quickly. The sun had been on my trim before I moved into the shade to do the job, but it just seems to linger indefinitely (certainly 4*5 minutes anyway). It showed no signs of drying on its own. Perhaps, being yank, it is engineered for hotter air temps, this day was only about 12 degrees air temp, though the surface was warmer from sitting in direct sun.You can see it looks quite thick and greasy when it's applied generously. Don't worry, it's way better after wipe down. I don't know if I should have, but I also applied to the wiper arms. Mainly because they were always going to get some on, so it may as well be a full coat, instead of patches. It didn't upset the wipers as far as I can see.Removal was easy, grab a clean MF towel (though it suggests using another applicator) and wipe up the excess. There will be plenty of it if you go at it generously like I did. The finish is not sticky or shiny, just a nice dark black satin. Your MF towel won't be good for clean jobs after this.Given the price, I should point out that this stuff goes a long way, I overshot on my first load and it was enough to do the whole trim panel and wiper arms once. If you've got another car with huge sections of plastic trim over the arches and bumpers, I'd say you'll get 2/3 cars from one pot. I expect to get at least 5/6 BRZs worth from this. This is the look after application, much better. It didn't mention layers in the instructions, so I did two, mainly to ensure total coverage.A doodle to use, so long as your careful and have a MF towel on standby. The MF towel won't be good for anything other than wheel or engine bay after it's had this stuff on, it properly stains. Really pleased with the immediate results and ease of use, I like a product I'm not rushing to buff off, or waiting ages for it to cure. Not at all grabby either. The above application and pictures are from about a month ago, I took this picture today after a normal wash, it appears to be holding strong. Really recommend this for poor condition plastic trim if you want nice deep satin black.

Total farce and you'll never need them, but in the unlikely event Jeany Gendarme pulls you (speeding perhaps, upset about Brexit, cheese rustling) if you get a jobsworth they can fine you for a minor arsenal of missing items. I must admit, I have small pack that I've totted around abroad for several years now abroad, I suspect not one of the bulbs would actually fit - but weirdly, that's not what they actually check! Great to pop my club cherry and meet some of the gang for the first time, a really cracking line up of motors, all in sparkling form and many tastefully modified. The BRZs have that air of exclusivity but the 86s aren't too shabby either Bit special seeing this on my first trip out. SWOON

Nice trip to get familiar with her. Excellent choice in WR blue, it's the fastest colour.

Use a dedicated tar/glue remover, you want to clean it chemically not with abrasion or excessive heat. If you've got a local Halfords then AG do an OK one - http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/shampoo-polish-wax/autoglym-intensive-tar-remover-325ml Auto Smart Tardis is supposed to be excellent - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Autosmart-Tardis-500ml-glue-remover/dp/B01MSFHCZ6 Personally I wouldn't put boiling water anywhere.

Exactly right. I initially kept the OEM AUX and USB but it's seemed to be insufficiently powerful to charge a phone and use it fairly intensively (Maps & streaming). So I disconnected that and just ran a long Lightning cable into the arm rest. With CarPlay the phone can be tucked away out of sight whilst in use, which is perfect as I didn't want a mount on the dash.

LOL It's a boot pull, to shut the boot lid without having to touch the filth on the outside.

First of the serious, frivolous mods today. Requiring nearly all my tools. As well as my Captain Brave pants.Drilled into the inner skin of the boot lid.Fitted a dirty great rivet.Did some screwing. After a few minutes hard work, the job was complete. Can you tell what it is yet? That's right!!!! It's a boot lid handle, in red! And with it being a mod, it's good for AT LEAST 15bhp, and the extra weight is over the driven wheels, so extra grip too!I also found a random boot magnet, silver, on the right.Does everyone on this platform have a random boot lid magnet? Or is it just me?

Well that's 2 quid saved then... 😉
