    Engine Noise

noise is still there... I ordered engine oil. i will top it up. Checked the dipstick this morning. still on the same level. I reckon its not been topped up in the service. I will top it up and then i will check if the noise will be gone or not. I am trying to follow Mark's advice on engine noise. He suggested me to check the engine oil...

    Engine Noise

To my physics knowledge lower reading is correct as even if it's a slight angle one side is a complete mess to read and only other side of the stick is readable and it is around half way. I don't mind full or half as soon as it is not low and no warning light is on.

    Engine Noise

Hmm... It's good to know. So, what valve? And according to the serviceit is not really harmful alas it comes back eventually (according to other owners)

    Engine Noise

Not in cold start but after a while. If the engine is warm it doesn't do it straight away but in few minutes. I can not hear it when I'm driving but only in idling. I believe the noises in-car and chirping engine are not the same as sounds different to me but maybe related I don't know that however I assure you that is what I hear in person.

    Engine Noise

No, air con and heater etc everything was off. That noise started about 10 days ago. Before that I didn't even know that engine was chirping. I actually realised engine is chirping coincidentally when I was trying to record the noise. I did n't understand your question. I trimmed the video but in-car noise and engine bay noise I am not sure if they are related. I recorded the video then I trimmed it before Ipost it as wwe don't need to see open the bonnet door etc part... If you mean that but it is the same moment of the noise.

    Engine Noise

The only reason I checked the oil because Mark told me regarding to the engine noise. I wonder if it's related to that. Been to dealer and the guy at service told me the level is correct as two sides of the stick shows different and he also said he would take the side one showing more. What I wonder here is if the chirping noise and strange in-car noise related to the oil. I checked the user manual but it doesn't say anything about the stick and the both sides. It shows one standard reading. I don't mind low level oil as if the light is not on the there is no problem but if the noise is related to low oil then I want to top it up. However which reading that I should take notice? I know that car is not leaking nor is it burning oil. I checked the oil regularly first few months the level was very stable and level was few mm under the high dot.

    Engine Noise

another reading... driven and engine warmed up then waited for the oil to drain.

    Engine Noise

I guess they are interested in really. He started smiling with big eyes after I explained what am I planning for the car. Now let's back to the noise. I was talking to Mark@AbbeyMotorSports and he suggested me to check the engine oil. Car been serviced about 600 miles - 2 weeks ago. And I know that engine oil been replaced. I opened the bonnet and checked the oil. I am in shock. Is that normal? Cold reading before engine started in the morning

    Engine Noise

Ok spoken to the service manager today and he is also confirmed that it is HPFP and it is not harmful. Also I told him for my upgrade plan and he is also confirmed that mods are not going to void the warranty but the modified parts so Rob, you are right and I am happy again...

    Engine Noise

Mark didn't say like that... He said it will be out of warranty? (I mean engine mods on here exhaust, map etc)

    Engine Noise

If it is not going to be harmful I think I can live with it just because it will come back again. If it is going to cause of further damage then I will take it to the dealer/service. If I modify the car it will be out of warranty so I have be sure it is not going to cause of any further (and obviously expensive additional) damage

    Is anyone a Speaker nerd?

Use these if you can find them... (JBL Control 8 - Studio monitors) Any JBL Control Series are ok actually. Control 8's are a bit old now. If you don't want anything fancy then you can also go for these (as we are using them in a design/video studio) Creative Gigaworks T40 Series

Cheap Shark Fin Aerial from Ebay

Yes I did. And Paid about £10. (Free postage). Works very fine and painted matt black (from halfords) and fits perfectly. Actually, apart from connector, there is no any installation issues or difficulties at all. Roof lining wasn't off at all. Only 3 pins at the very rear of the lining been removed and there is enough room to work. Actually more than enough. Me and Angela (she was holding the torch as it was dark) worked together (almost) PS: There is no gap between aerial and the car! Here is my installation:

    Didn't started at all...

As usual, after work, got in the car and pressed the engine start/stop button.Circuits been energised. Checks done. Rev counter up and down. Fuel pump started for pressure. Relays are on and off as usual. But... No starter motor noise. What da? What's going on? It's not cranking. No turning. Nothing. Just silence. Tried maybe 10 times with the combination of in and out of the car. Key battery. Clutch pedal. Clutch brake pedal. No luck. Nothing. The called my wife to say iI'm going to be late because car didn't started. Had a short chat with a colleague and about 4mins after back to car. Took the phone to record what's happening because I was planning to post it on here. Surprise, it started. On the way back called Toyota but unfortunately no one was there. So I'll give them a call tomorrow for a check if they find it necessary. Oh btw when I was driving home everything was working as normal. Any ideas? Did this happened to anyone else? It's over 8000 miles yet.

    Exhaust emission test

So, if we get rid of one of the cats it is still legal with one cat? I have a feeling that I misunderstood. I guess instead of 2 cats, one 200 high flow cat is enough for the legal requirements... Or am I wrong again?
  25. still message coming up but at least i can send some stuff now...
