The Air Con gubbin's just add weight anyway, might as well take it all off and have better airflow through your intercooler into the bargain as well!! (This post is not entirely serious... :-P )

Subaru Pro R take a trip to the Ring to drive the Rent4Ring Brz

Interesting to hear that they have made quite a few modifications to the standard spec, but otherwise, I agree - Mostly lame... -
I Saw a GT-86 or BRZ Today........
Sideways? replied to Test Drives Unlimited's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Not to flame you down completely but we already had a request and subsequent discussion on this and decided it was a bit pointless to have a spotted thread because people were generally not that interested...I'll leave the mods to comment further :-) -
Right, so, if you change the manifold to one that does not have a cat built in (the front cat is part of the OEM manifold) then you will need to either keep the OEM secondary cat or fit a high-flow one like the one you have suggested.Theoretically any cat from a reputable dealer should reduce the emissions to legal levels - what is the point in making a cat that doesn't do the job - but as always, check with the dealer and make sure you're happy with the answer they give before purchasing... :-)In short, no, you don't need to get something custom made because there are loads of CAT's on the market...

Tarmac Sportz on the other side is a Berk Technology dealer... perhaps head over there and see if they'll do a competitive price in comparison to eBay...??Here is the link; http://www.gt86ownersclub.co.uk/forum/berk-technology_topic4446.html

I think that you have to know what to look for when the backend starts to break away.I think the GT86/BRZ is very softly spoken about what is going on, right until the point where things are going to get big and slidey and then its difficult to ignore what the car is telling you - however, by then it can be too late and you're already into a slide...For me, I've been used to driving FWD cars and even though I've had a couple of other RWD cars before the GT86, I never had them long enough or drove them hard enough to start learning what to look for without the feeling of torque being transmitted through the steering that you get on FWD cars...I think also the media makes it out that the GT86/BRZ is a happy slidey fluffy bunny but the truth of the matter is that it can bite just as hard as any other RWD car if you drive like an idiot...

When will cookie/cache issue be resolved for posting?
Sideways? replied to Lauren's topic in Requests & Issues
Alternatively you can find them in the folder and delete them... It does take a little while to figure out exactly which one to delete for this particular forum, but you could just select all and delete if you don't mind going through and putting your passwords in again... -
I wonder if they got an auto or a manual??

I had a peculiar blemish appear on my bonnet, took it to Toyota and they managed to remove it by slightly heating the paint/bonnet and then gently polishing it once it had cooled. If you're sure this has not been caused by oil/grease/something else that contains a chemical that is not being removed by the car wash shampoo I would definitely suggest Toyota as your first point of call...

ok so it worked once, I thought that was all the responses I had, but I came on the forum a bit later and turns out they are still broken...

If its a wrap, you can always peel it off and try something different!!

At least you're not a GT86 Expert anymore... :-P

Banned from Dan's forum for what exactly?

ok, ok, ok, I couldn't resist not being lazy... latest "update" from Stu... Note: I refuse to officially take sides (because I don't know anything about any of it) until I see the lay of the land post the ban-gate saga.

riceburner wrote: can there be some form of compromise ?

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. Apparently no compromise, which is why certain people went off and set up another site. And by no compromise, I mean they weren't willing to compromise what THEY wanted from a site/club and had to be 100% in control themselves. Good on them, good luck, all the best,. etc, but we don't want such people at events our members have spent time arranging only to preach about how evil we are and how their club is utopia (paraphrasing, before the copy'n'paste police go nuclear). For what it's worth, since this public discussion today, I have received PM's from more people complaining about her behaviour at our meets. I don't see any reason to 'compromise', sorry. It is what it is. A small number of people have been banned. I don't see that changing anytime soon. It can be discussed until the cows come home, but eventually it'll get boring and fizzle out. People get banned from forums all the time. People will get over it. It's taken some time to reach this decision, it wasn't a knee-jerk reaction. I don't have anything personal against anyone (although it appears that isn't mutual?!), but I will say that I have been somewhat disappointed by some people, that I have met personally who I feel are a bit two-faced. That's life I guess. Dan has asked that this not turn into a big debate about the decision and to PM him if anyone has any questions they wish to pose. Can we please avoid cluttering up this thread with any more of this and use it as a more constructive mechanism to improve things within the club. Thanks! -
I'm going to sit on the fence too for at least a little while since there is a lot of content on the "other" forum that I would still like to be able to use/interact with and I don't want to be blocked...
-
the flip side is that it will all come out in the wash - either both clubs will stumble on largely as they have been or one will rise and one will shrink... Personally I don't think the "scene" in the UK is big enough to have 2 large forums so I imagine that over the course of time (probably 1-2 years) one forum will just slowly start to dry up and disappear... As to which one that will be is anyone's guess but bearing in mind that most of the people who were banned from the "other" forum were the people that truly "gave a shit" about the club as a club - and that they are the people who started this forum - I think I know where I'd like to put my money for the long term... The forum software itself might still be in development and hence not provide quite such a polished experience as the "other" forum but that is a temporary thing because it is the people who make the club what it is...

Sideways? replied to Lauren's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
:32 (30): I'll let the other copy and paste fairies update this thread with the rest of the content from the "other" forum... suffice to say that I'm pretty sure if people from "this forum" turn up to event organised on "that forum" things will end up being said and eventually it will all turn nasty... (or, even nastier than it possibly already has...) seems that not everyone is seeing events from the same perspective and who is being unreasonable about it depends on whether you're willing to take sides, hence, my sad face.Very sad times indeed because it makes me not want to bother getting involved with either forum in case I say the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person and end up offending someone... -

I did wonder who had been banned and why...Was there a club banner in the first place? who was responsible for "stealing" it - if it even was "stolen" in the first place?!?!?!Its sad, but not surprising, seems the club forums will go their separate ways from here on... -
I don't really care about future values because I intend to keep mine FOREVER!!! hehehehehe...
-
where's the update?! did you 'entertain' your boys on the way (I assume you went in the 86...) or were they just grumpy ALL day... How was the show?? :-)

sounds like a good excuse to me....
