Hey guys, Im sue my 2nd service, just gone to book and Toyota are saying its £370? i was expecting £300 seeing that price thrown around online, so just wanted to make sure i havent missed something here? Appreciate comment from anyone else's experience before i book in!
-
Spoke with Toyota and they said it only matters that oils and parts are genuine Toyota for warranty purposes and other than that it doesn’t matter where it’s done! So no main dealers for me
-
Yeah Mac are well known for quality work, where as Steve eagell are known for the opposite, even damaging users cars. So I think I’m going to have to go private as I can’t deal with long drives just for servicing
-
That’s what I mean, I’d rather buy a car with specialist servicing that Steven eagell which is why I think it may be the smart move as this is an enthusiast car not a yaris so buyers may be More understanding
-
Yeah I’m reluctant to pay it as Steven eagle are a known bunch of crooks, I’m just worried about loosing main dealer history status and it’s impact on value even if it was serviced at a better place
-
To add, Japex in Watford have quoted me £250 for the service and my mums 370z has been going there for 6 years. I’m just concerned about loosing the main dealer history as it’s impact / fines from the finance company!
-
PCP states that has to be main dealer services i believe, also it needs to be done by friday to be within the annual cycle, thirdly i cant deal with long journeys around my day job (hertfordshire based) so im out of options it seems!
-
yeah that was my thought, but this price was from toyotas own service website not dealer specific, so i can only assume prices have risen for all main dealers

hey all i am about to do my annual renewal and its the first full year of the 86 so quotes are higher than ive dealt with in recent years and wanted to see how you guys handle it... Im looking at £700 with admiral (£500 excess, comp) who ive been with since i started driving, they usually get decently low and are reputable so i feel safer having them if i had an accident than some of the cheaper insurers (esure will insure me for £550 but have appalling reviews online) Do you guys have any recommendations? and are the brokers / independents actually cheaper / worth the hassle? as my parents told me not to bother due to them receiving massive quotes on their 370z's when trying that route. I have exhaust and valenti mods if relevant, no accidents or points, over 25, 7+ NCB, social only, less than 5k miles PA

Interior center console creaking noise?
infernouk replied to infernouk's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
ah this happens at any speed rather than it being triggered by rough terrain, its very odd almost sounds like plastic warping (like when you press on the plastic around the dash dials but it happens on its own) drives me crazy as its the only noise my car makes! -
Hey guys, posted this here as it didn’t seem to fit in any other category. gor about 3 months my center console somewhere around the head unit / dials has had a constant creak noise whilst driving as if the plastic were flexing. inhabe pushed down on everything and turned everything hoping something would pop into place and it would stop but no luck! I cant recreate the noise whilst stationary so it’s very difficult to pin down and fix as when driving I can’t focus on where it could be coming from. is it a known issue or has anyone else had a similar issue with this center console creaking and is there a fix or method to fix this? Cheers
-
Hey guys I have an issue where as i slow down or move very slowly, my breaks squeal like a train pulling into a station, very embarrassing when parking etc / driving round carparks at 2mph squeeking. From what im aware this could be down to the pads glazing and not being used heavily enough? but even so, is there a fix for this? As its an absolute nightmare Cheers!

What’s the safest way to bed in? I’ll give it a go but don’t fancy causing an incident
-
perhaps a stupid question, do front and rear both need to be done? with the stoptech's thats £200?
-
ok great, is there a 'go to' pad from the aftermarket? i assume i can fit them myself (ive done it before on a corsa if thats similar!) im only looking for road use at the moment but ideally not worse than the standard ones!
-
is that all thats required to fix? the car only has 10k miles on it but its on stock (dont know if the aero had different pads or not)

Insurance time of year! suggestions?
infernouk replied to infernouk's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Well I tried Adrian flux, got someone Who blaster through a script and seemed very non concerned, put me on hold for 10 mins then said that the best they can get is 650 and I should go with esure... -

yeah this is my main barrier, im up at 7am and home at 7pm with little to no time for phone calls in those hours so its tricky to find a window for 3-4 long phone calls, but of course the saving is incentive to do so! perhaps ill just have to persevere and try them out if the brands the comparison sites are throwing up are known to be poor -

fair enough i did try and specialist once and it was much higher than mainstream, perhaps ill revisit and see if any can get close. Having just run a go compare search, i can get esure, sheilas wheels or A Plan for £550, but im pretty sure none of these are reputable, it just concerns me as id rather pay more for less stress in case of incident, but as youve just confirmed, even the big names are really a smooth ride -
i have these wheels on a 2017 car i wash them with chemicals too, no issues

Hey guys, so continuing my spree of internal and external damage, it appears my girlfriends bag has taken a slice at my glovebox door. I can lightly feel the scratch so it’s not just a scuff. Can this be resolved? Or do I neee to buy a new glovebox door or something? Cheers for any help here, getting really tired about how easily the car collects scratches and chips! Image attached
