not even on forza...

Blanking it off was the best thing I've done to the car yet! Will eventually get an intake hose

Hi mate, did you ever try these brembo pads? thinking of getting some tomorrow and also in confusion with the rear sizes. The guy at ECP went away and checked on a different system and came back saying i need the bigger ones but has ordered both in just in case haha!
-
ohhhh hahah! I did think it sounded very clean but loud just read mic placement in the post also haha
-
exhaust sounds worryingly loud from inside any pics from outside with the new splitter?

Good to see you have had it replaced under warranty without issues (apart from as you say strangely replacing with the same part) I really want mine doing before I go on my european road trip April year. It isn't gonna look cool in the Monaco traffic with a chirpy fuel pump and tbh it just annoys me
-
I was genuinely surprised at the thread title and thought you must have mistyped I have rarely read of the more serious issues you've posted over here. As Deacon said they seem to be more common across the US. Fingers crossed I've not had any of the issues yet other than an occasionally crickety fuel pump which as said doesn't actually affect the car in any way. Ive had my car a year and it's a 15 plate with 23k miles and a fsh. Sure the interior rattles and things aren't as well put together as my previous bmw m135i but it kind of works with this car and adds to the relationship and driver involvement in a way Buy one and you won't regret it!

thanks for posting pics and an installation guide! will be adding 'some' deadening when i get the focal speakers i see you refit the stock waterproof skin on the door card? how did you manage to remove and reapply?
-
its a seperate trim piece that clips in could repair the bumper and just buy a new valance/diffuser

I went for the cheaper option with the BC BR coilovers. Much comfier than stock suspension on the British B roads on softest setting yet also much more compliant. Even the Mrs noticed the improvement in comfort so must be good
-
They were going to but I somehow managed to get all 4 sides the same hahah. I paid £105 for the alignmentas it was really out. They have price list on their website of you're interested

If you're happy to travel north a bit Bram racing in Wakefield did mine and would recommend them. They specialise in custom setups for drift cars and stuff. The lad was really knowledgeable and friendly too.

All, I'm going to be changing to the subaru 4 pot calipers off the wrx (not sti)(my mate gave me his free )) and am aware they may actually provide slightly less overall braking performance vs the stock gt86 calipers shifting the brake bias from what I have read about 4% rearward However, if I was to add a decent pad up front e.g ds2500/CLrc5+ etc and just run oem rear pads surely under hard (and possibly normal) use that would neutralize the difference in brake bias presuming that the 4% would even be noticeable with stock pads all around? I may have got my head all confused about this but I know theres some very clued up folks here! Any help greatly appreciated Dan

Depending which ones they are of course Was Mike from TD that mentioned the corrosion protection and he happily recommended the cheaper product which makes a change these days

I have recently put the BC BR (cheapest) coilovers on my car and in the softest setting they're much more comfortable for daily use compared to the stock suspension and even the Mrs noticed the difference straight away! I'm yet to have a fiddle with settings as it currently ticks all the boxes for the driving I'm doing at the moment - primarily bumpy Yorkshire A/B roads Doing a track day at Anglesey in August so plan on having a fiddle with them whilst there There seems to be a good range of height adjustment too. The rears will go about 10-15mm lower and the fronts about an inch lower compared to pic below. On a side note I was originally going to go for Tein Flex Z or A but was informed by a man in the know that they don't have the same corrosion resistance as the BC suspensions. Whether thats the case or not I don't know but alas it helped made my mind up for some reason. Also worth noting they redesigned the rear top mount/hats to avoid the knocking noises you may have read about online. Also my mate bought some of the same for his Subaru to replace his even cheaper ebay specials and also found ride comfort fantastic
-
Not changing the rears to the wrx 2 pots so probs nearer the 5%
-
Aye they will be something liked that. So 5% more rear bias still leaves me confused regarding brake pad choice. Do I match them all round or get new oem rears and decent fronts or decent rears and even better fronts hahaha.
-
I had a look on the spreadsheet but there is no brz would i be right in thinking maybe the legacy GT uses the same brakes? If so it was 5.4% rearward on stock pads but 15% forward on performance pads...
-
Thanks for the reply Dan Yeh just doing the fronts as they're direct fit unlike the rears hah I think it was ft86 that i got the 4% difference from due to smaller overall piston diameter I havent read of any having any major issues myself from people using the calipers and have read plenty positives but I dont want the car to become unsafe or unstable I know i could just upgrade pads lines and fluid on the stock setup etc but thought I could gain some more blingy looking calipers here
-
interesting! i came from a jb4'd m135i great in a straight line but a pretty flawed chassis (i only had H&R springs on mine) which is where the M2 steps in i do miss the ability the power gave but i much prefer driving the 86 on UK/yorkshires roads 2er looks great though

Loving the wheels and ride height but cant decide on the louvres i neither love them or hate them haha! #teamgrey!
