Ayy, congratulations and welcome to team black π

Just bought some snow socks from Halfords. We're off to Austria on the 23rd of December, will tell you how they hold up. (They were the large size from Halfords for 215/45/17 OEM wheels btw).

Well then π catless it is I guess. Either solution is easy enough I guess (friendly tester or switching it out). Thanks for the help as always guys.

Hmm, been thinking about this a little more and feel like keeping the OEM front pipe, when the rest of the exhaust system is after market and composed of better materials, would be a bad idea. It doesn't seem very future proof either in terms of future mods (FI specifically). Is there a solution for this, when having a de-CAT header? I know many people keep the 2nd CAT but can you have a high flow sports CAT on the front pipe and still make it through the emissions test? How are people dealing with this? Surely some of you have changed the entire exhaust system including OEM 2nd CAT? Apologies for reviving old post just getting closer to modifying and want to be certain.

I know, but there seems to be a pretty simple fix for that; replacing the bumper brackets/spacers (which is a pretty cheap part). I'll include the video I found on this below (apologies if random external linking isn't allowed);

Hi guys, got a couple of questions regarding the Perrin intake. Looking to buy this (ASAP really) but have been looking around and stumbled across a couple of posts about needing a tune to stop engine bogging etc. Is this really the case or can we just bolt it on without throwing CEL? 2nd question is; do any of you have the Perrin intake and the TD NA tuning package? Was going to purchase this in January but the package comes with a K&N drop in filter. Just wondering if the Perrin is a problem there. Thanks π

I don't think removing the front bumper every 5-10k miles is too much of a PITA honestly. Besides this is just the first of more engine mods to come in future. I'm fairly sure that an aftermarket intake will offer a bit more than the OEM does. Besides, as @Lauren said; it's all about the sound regardless π

Phew π

So am I crazy or is that one on TD not the smaller one? π€ I mean the product info leads me to believe it's plug and play.
-
Going for this one from TD which is the smaller one unless I'm mistaken; http://www.tuningdevelopments.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=502_625_632&products_id=3307 Truthfully aesthetics and auditory feedback have a lot to do with our decision on this one. Superficial I know, but it's similar reasoning behind my decision to go for for UEL instead of EL.

Perfect thanks for your help as always π Don't mind that bit too much honestly, but it did cross my mind haha

I know this is really really late to post but... I just felt the need to say a massive thank you to everyone Leo and I met at Japfest Donington earlier this year. We had slight inclinations toward modifying the car, even though it's our first RWD and really our first performance car ever, but didn't take the dive until we met all of you and saw everyone's take on the 86/brz. Those of you we spoke to answered so many questions, were super welcoming and made being a newbie in the scene extremely pleasant. I know we were completely stock when we met you but you welcomed us onto the stand regardless. Thanks to encouragement and the info you gave we're well on the way to getting Kuro to where we want him. Apologies if this is a bit mushy but I'm just happy you guys have been so friendly can't wait to meet up again in the new year! Some pictures of Kuro's transformation so far; (Apologies if this ought to go in the modifications bit, wasn't sure )

Wanted - Winter tyres (+ wheels preferably)
Mya X Ferron posted a topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
Hey, Looking for a full set of winter tyres with no less than 5mm tread for a winter roadtrip across Europe. Tyres would be great but if you've got wheels to go with them, even better. Thanks in advance! -
Can't if it's too far down south ^^ somewhere central would be nice xD

Welcome yea mods are inevitable methinks π only had ours 9 months and it's begun. Enjoy! The people here are lovely and extremely helpful.

Cool perfect, was worried only having 1 cat would cause issues. Thanks for the peace of mind

I finally got them a few weeks ago. I just called them up and they were more than happy to offer 10% discount in the end

Hi everyone, figured I should make one of these introductory posts, although I feel weird not lurking, haha. How am I supposed to start this?! I'm a (mature) student at University, just turned 26 on the 16th May \o/ and I've always had a big interest in cars (like literally my dad couldn't get me to sleep as a baby without taking me out for a drive and he's got a heavy right foot haha). I've never really had reason to get involved in any clubs though (my first car was sadly a 1.2 2002 Vauxhall Corsa...) but the addition of the GT86 to our household has just made my Jap car addiction even worse tbh, lol. My fiancΓ© and I are the proud owners of a 2013 black GT86 and if all goes to plan will be on stand with the rest of you lovely people at Japfest Donnington! Car's completely stock at the moment but the list of potential modifications is getting longer everyday (might even have changed it's stock status by Japfest). My other half isn't one for social media and forums so you get me instead. My general mechanical knowledge of cars is alright but nothing to shout about, but I'm learning everyday and the GT86 has been a brilliant car to do that with. Hoping this club will be able to help me get a little bit more comfortable in the car scene. Anyway rambling over, looking forward to meeting you all and thanks for being so welcoming and lovely so far (on Facebook). Here's a picture of the car;

Can't come anymore, sorry

So Stefan and I are thinking about going for this (resonated because we're forward planning for forced induction). Just wondering if anyone here has one or has had one and if so; could you share your experiences, good and bad? Thanks in advance!
