I use Abbey Motorsport not far from Reigate off the M25. They are excellent with a deep knowledge of the 86/BRZ. They fitted my Harrop supercharger and remapped the ECU using ECUTek software. If you want good performance naturally aspirated, have them replace the exhaust manifold and remap it. It transforms the car and gets rid of the midrange torque dip.

Welcome to the small BRZ club! Throttle response becomes lightning fast with a remap. Sent from my LG-G7 using Tapatalk

I'm not certain, but all UK cars seem to have the same code panel in the glove box.
-
That's a sure sign that the battery is dying. I believe the alarm/immobiliser battery drain is the same for BRZ and GT86.

You're never going to notice the difference between 60Ah and 62Ah, LOL! There is plenty of cranking current, too. The reliability and longevity of the battery is far more important and Yuasa are great here. Interesting that they have bought the Panasonic battery division, who supplied my original OEM battery in the BRZ.
-
This is what I have, from Amazon. It's a drop-in replacement. Yuasa are highly regarded in the battery world.

A CTEK charger with preinstalled battery terminal connector is easy to use and only needs doing once a week. You could extend the CTEK connector from the battery (they sell an extension) for the connector to be just behind the grill, for instance.

Has the formulation for Rain-X changed in recent years? I remember it was superb for treating the windscreen to make water just run off. Having bought a new bottle after many years, I cannot get it to stop smearing no matter how much I clean the glass and buff it afterwards. Something has changed!
-
Exactly that! I've gone out again today, applied some more and buffed the hell out of it. The next rain will tell whether it worked. Otherwise, I'll have to try to get it off.

I don't have any problem with the facelift interior and the instrument cluster. The information is where I want it with big tacho and digital speedo. In fact, the analogue speedo is completely redundant and I never look at it. The auxiliary gauges like voltage, water and oil temps are good as are the mileage/trip functions. I supplement what I need to know with a Scangauge. Form follows function, it's an informative and comfortable place to be. I don't really need or want it to look like a Prius inside.

I prefer the new BRZ's shape in silver.

****Heads up everyone****

Will be sorry not to see you at the car meets, Nigel. -
...not to mention transverse would make it front-wheel drive! Yuk!!
-
I don't think Subaru would like building the cars with a Toyota engine.
-
Ah, I didn't know that.
-
Yep - me too. I have four years to retirement and my BRZ is going to come on my journey with me!
-
I quite like the small ducktail bootlid and the 2.4l engine should lend itself to even better power upgrades and boost. It looks good in silver, less good in Subaru blue. It's no biggie over ours but let's respect the fact that it keeps the concept going where we thought the model might be dead. With the latest government announcement about battery cars we have one more decade to buy this sort of car. Enjoy it while it lasts!

I agree that the TD with super-resonator is just right. Sent from my LG-G7 using Tapatalk

Cool way to make a crappy Nissan Leaf useful!

I don't see 'too much traction' as being in any way negative! I don't think any of them do, Luke. Mine are programmable replacement ones provided by ProTyre and the batteries are stated as having a 5 year life.

Tyres done - a nice set of 235/40 R18 Michelin PS4s now installed. Oh, and my TPMS sensors are back in the main wheels. I could immediately feel both the enhanced grip and better ride quality - it's nice to be back on PS4s. ProTyre said they're not busy at the moment (and didn't baulk at reworking 8 wheels for me). If anyone wants a code for £20 off a set of four, PM me and I'll send it to you.

Any experience with Primacy 4 (or other lower grip tyres)?
MartinT replied to itsuki's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I must be in the minority in thinking that the stock car is under-tyred. Never mind 'playful', with Primacies it's just damned dangerous in the wet. With the chance to buy new wheels, I would go again for 8" wheels with 225 tyres for an NA car. With my supercharged car, my 8.75" wheels with 235 tyres are just perfect. Still pretty playful if I want it to be. -
I'm fairly sure I've mixed blue and pink at different times. Blue is put into my BRZ but I have pink for topping up.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'm pretty sure OEM is 7.7kg now. I did look at EBC but I particularly wanted slots for water dispersal. I must say that I'm very pleased with the braking ability now. It's the Avons that let the side down - they're going next week.
