I can't measure it but I have noted the smoother running and quieter engine every time I've used Archoil. I've tried Slick 50 and Molyslip a long time ago, they did not have such a pronounced effect. It was a friend in the tuning business who first recommended Archoil to me. Anyway, I'm not here to sell you anything, just adding my experience. Take it or leave it.

Silly claim. They are developed from ingredients too expensive to put into standard lubricants. Why would you assume that any engine oil cannot be improved? As I said, I've used it across five different cars for a number of years. I wouldn't buy it if it didn't work.
-
Between oil changes, it should be ok. Take a look at Archoil AR9100, been using it for a long time now. You will notice a smoother running and slightly quieter engine.

Thanks. I'll ask Mark what he thinks closer to the time. The Harrop doesn't need one, I just wanted to know the exact boost but it's not important. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

What Lauren says about having to run the AC demister, especially in the rain (like driving home last night in fierce rain at 2am on the M25). Give the car a good dry out on a decent run and it should be fine. I'm not aware of any problems with rear screen seals.

I agree, Bulldog Twyford seem to understand our cars and are sympathetic to mods. -
Thanks for confirming that. So my reading just hit the maximum. I have spoken to Mark at Abbey Motorsport who can fit a new MAP sensor giving me accurate boost readings. I'll have that done next year together with some other minor work.
-
You're going to love driving that home!

Last night I found the setting in my Scangauge II for the MAP sensor, set to kiloPascals (100kPa = 1 bar). With the engine off and Scangauge on, it reads 102 which is perfect as that's atmospheric pressure. What is the maximum reading for the stock MAP sensor? It's winter so I couldn't give it full beans and only reached a reading of 137 which would be 0.37 bar of boost. I seem to remember the sensor is limited to around 0.45 bar?

The facelift spoiler (as on mine) is an aero design, to make the car slippery at speed, there isn't much rake if at all for downforce. Frankly, the car doesn't go fast enough on public roads to generate any significant downforce with a wing of that size.

225/45 Michelin PS4 on 17x8 Rota Blitz. It doesn't feel under-tyred due to the tremendous grip of the PS4s, in fact the balance is near perfect.
-
Remarkably good. Chargers are more predictable than turbos in that respect and, combined with the superb grip of the Michelin PS4s, I've had no surprises even in the driving rain. I just apply a gentle right foot and it remains docile. Of course, a good prod in the dry is still smile inducing! The big test for me will be the snow. The BRZ is my daily driver and living down a single track country lane which is prone to snow drifts suggests that I'm asking a lot. We shall see. Worst case, I'll come into work with my partner in her TTS Quattro (although that didn't fare much better than the BRZ last year).

I've just received the badge from Harrop so it's gone on the car. Finishing touch.
-
Nice one, Matrix. I so understand your charger versus turbo dilemma as I went thrrough exactly the same thought process a little earlier this year. I don't think there is any one best solution as it's a personal choice and each has its merits. I guess I smiled a little when you focussed in on the Harrop before you went the turbo route as the Harrop is what I now have. Isn't it true, though, that the real benefit of going forced induction is it's what many of us knew the car needed? It was great in tuned NA form, but the chassis is so deserving of more power and I was fed up with being left behind by hot hatches. That doesn't happen any more. Just as with my previous car, I don't use the power very often, but when I want it, it's there. Happy turbo power!

Do you know if that fits the facelifted BRZ? Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk -
Just carry a can of Tyre Weld for emergencies?

Full power or maximum revs?

Great to meet more members, good turnout and the coffee was excellent! Thanks for organising it, Keith.

Shame, Annie. Will catch up next time. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

I didn't appreciate quite how far away it is. I'd better try and leave at 11:30 and go south on the M3, then the M27/A27 as that is showing as the best route at the moment.

In today's winter sun.

Yep, my TPMS light comes on every cold morning and I'm inclined to leave it like that rather than pump them up to the full summer pressure of 2.4 bar.

Try Adrian Flux?
